Saying Goodbye...

Hello blogging friends!

Some of you might have seen the recent post on Facebook that JustRite Papercraft was having a Design Team Call.  The new owners of the company thought it was time for a change and they wanted to do a design team call.  We were all invited to reapply and as much as I love my fellow design team members and the products I have been with the company for several years (8 yrs) and I decided it was time to step down so someone else could have an opportunity to be on the design team.

We had an amazing run and I am so very thankful to Kellie Fortin and Amy Tedder for their friendship and all of the fabulous designs, inspiration, and products over the years.  These two ladies are beyond fabulous!!  I am also thankful for my fellow Design Team Members--these are some of the most talented and amazing women I know!!  We have built life long friendships and honestly our group was/is so close they feel more like sisters.

I also want to say a HUGE Thank You to all of YOU who have been fans of JustRite Papercraft and have been following my blog through the years!!  Thank you for all of your support and wonderful comments--it truly mean more to me than you will ever know!!

**EDIT**--Just so everyone knows this isn't goodbye forever--I will still be doing all of my other design work.  I just won't be designing for JustRite Papercraft.  Sorry for the confusion--I wanted to clear this up.  I received a few emails today and some people thought I meant I was done designing for good.  :)

Some of my favorite and recent JustRite Papercraft cards.

But as one chapter closes it's time to start another one.  I have something I have been working on for a while and I am SO excited about it BUT I can't post it just yet.  So stay tuned! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have a wonderful and creative day!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Butterfly and Flowers Happy Birthday Card

Hello blogging friends!  Today, is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.   I know it has been forever since I have had a SSRS post--about a month.  But with some recent health issues it has set me back a bit.  One of my medicines was increased and I am starting to feel a little better--it's just not happening as fast as I would like lol.  But the good news is I am having longer periods of time throughout the day that are somewhat tolerable so I am able to do some creating.

We still have snow on the ground here in Minnesota but it is only March so who knows we could still have a snow storm or two but I am ready for Spring!  Nothing says Spring more than flowers and a butterfly.  :)  To create the butterfly I used the new stamp set from JustRite Papercraft CR-05009 Multi-Step Butterflies and Flowers and VersaMark Pretty Petunia, Spring Pansy inks.  Then I lightly inked the edges of the butterfly with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Broken China.  To die cut the butterfly I used the DIE-05010 Multi-Step Butterfly Dies.

For the die cuts in the background I used  DIE-05019 Elegant Garden Label Dies along with Bazzill Gold Mirror Cardstock, white, and lavender cardstock.  I used Therm-O-Web Foam Squares in between the layers to add some dimension.  To create the vines I used green cardstock and DIE-05017 Stitched Oval and Vine Dies.  Then I added a couple of flowers from the Petaloo Botanica Collection Pink Minis and  Prima Serenade - Turquoise Flower.  I adhered all of the pieces to a white card front and then a lavender card base.  I used Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and one of the sentiments from the CR-05014 Sweet Flowers and Vines clear stamp set to stamp Happy Birthday in the upper left corner.  To finish off the card I added Ranger - Glossy Accents and Stampendous Crystal Glitter Multi Ultra Fine to the butterfly, vines and flowers.  I love all of the sparkle!

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed the card!

Please be sure to check out The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store for all of the fantastic paper crafting products and the Blog for inspiration from the Design Team.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

JustRite Papercraft - Chrysanthemums Just Because Card with Tutorial

Hello everyone!  You all know I am a huge fan of watercolor cards and I have recently shared a few new ones with you.  I don't have a watercolor card to share with you today--BUT I have a card using Copic markers and the end result looks kind of like a watercolor card.  :)  Before I get started I have to say the inspiration for this card came from Jennifer McGuire.  Recently Jennifer shared a video where she did a technique called Negative Space Coloring.  In her video she talks about coloring the negative space instead of the stamped image and it gives your card or project a totally different look.  I just absolutely loved the look of the negative space coloring so I had to give it a try. But you all how much I love the look of watercolor cards so I added an extra step.  :)

Here is a look at the finished card.  I love this color combination of the light to medium pink and a coral pink.

To start I die cut a piece of  Hammermill Color Copy Dogital Cover paper using the largest die in the DIE-05033 JustRite Three In A Row set.  Then I used Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the floral images from the CR-05028 Chrysanthemums Clear Stamps.  In the video (I will leave a link below) Jennifer uses the MISTI tool for her stamping.  I have the MISTI tool but I was only stamping one time for each flower and using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I started coloring the negative space (background) with the lightest Copic marker RV00 and I colored the entire piece.  Then I came in with the medium Copic color RV13 and colored the middle and then I blended it back out using the RV00 marker.  For the last and darkest color I used R22 on the bottom and then I blended the colored back out with RV13 and RV00.

Like I said I love the look of watercolor and I just can't help myself lol.  So I used some of the 0-Colorless Blender to try and achieve the look of a watercolor with the water droplets.  First I put some of the colorless blender on my craft mat and then I used and old makeup brush to dab on some of the colorless blender.  Then I also added some to the paint brush to create larger droplets.  I just love how this piece turned out!

Next I wanted to add a touch of sparkle so I added the Zig Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the flowers.

To finish off the flowers I added Ranger Glossy Accents.

To finish off the card I added the watercolor piece to a black and pink cardstock mat.  Then I added those pieces to the white card front.  I stamped the sentiment in the bottom corner and added a thin strip of black paper.  Then I mounted everything to a pink card base.

To see Jennifer McGuire's video on Negative Space Coloring you can click HERE and you can click HERE to visit her blog.

This is a really quick, easy, and fun technique and I hope you will give it a try!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

JustRite Papercraft - Meadow Circles Hello Watercolor Card

Hello blogging friends!  Today, I have another watercolor card to share with you.  I am loving doing the watercolor cards so I hope you re getting some inspiration from them as well.  :)

For this card I started with a piece of Strathmore Mixed Media paper.  Then I used some of the stamps from the CR-05032 Meadow Circles Clear Stamps along with VersaMark ink and Tonic Studios - NUVO Glod Embossing Powder and a heat tool to heat set the images.  Then I used several colors of the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens - Light Blue, Cobalt Blue, Pale Green, May Green, Light Green, Persian Green, Turquoise Green pens,  I started by going from the lightest blue, then in to the green and then finished with the blue greens.  Once the watercolor was dry I used a paint brush with clean water to add water droplets.  I let the water droplets sit for a few seconds and then blotted with a paper towel.  I used the heat to to dry the paper and repeated the water droplets a few times until I was happy with the look of the background.

After the watercolor piece was all dry then I used the NUVO Medium Glue Pen to add adhesive on the flower and leaves inside the circle images.  For the flower I used NUVO Sheer Glitter Turquoise and for the leaves I used NUVO Sheer Glitter Olive Green.  Once the glue had a few minutes to set and dry I removed the excess glitter.  For some embellishments I added some Cartwright Sequins - 8 mm, 10 mm, Bahama Blue SC Iris, 3 mm Gold Flowers, 4 mm Gold.  I used Ranger - Multi Medium Matte to adhere the sequins.

To finish off the card I used VersaMark ink to stamp the hello sentiment from the CR-05032 Meadow Circles Clear Stamps and then I used the same gold embossing powder and heat set the sentiment.  Then I cut a flag tail on one end of the paper and adhered it to the from of the watercolor piece.  I used white craft foam and scor-tape to adhere the watercolor base to a white cardstock mat and then to the aqua card base.

I just love the look of watercolor with the water droplets!

Thanks so much for stopping by today for another card share and I will have another project coming real soon!

Have a fantastic day!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

JustRite Papercraft - Doodled Birds Banners Shape Card

Hello Blogging Friends!  I have a quick and cute card share for today.

For today's card I used the largest banner die in the  DIE-05020 JustRite Stitched A2 Banners and Rectangles die set to create the base for a fun little shape card.  Check out these doodled birds--they are so cute!  This is one of those fun stamp sets that just makes you smile.  I used light yellow cardstock for the base of the card.

I used the smaller banner die in the DIE-05020 JustRite Stitched A2 Banners and Rectangles set to cut a piece of Strathmore Mixed Media paper and then I stamped the images from the CR-05030 Doodled Birds Clear Stamps using Ranger - Jet Black Archival Ink.  I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens - Light Pink, Pink, Pale Green, Light Green, Yellow, Lemon Yellow, Bright Yellow, Orange, and Light Blue to color the images and background.  I wanted to add a little sparkle to the card so I used Ranger - Glossy Accents and Stampendous - Multi Ultra Fine Crystal Glitter.

I used scor-tape and white craft foam to adhere the watercolor piece to the card front.

I hope you enjoyed today's card and for more inspiration don't forget to check out the JustRite Blog and the JustRite Facebook page.

Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Sunday!

Heidi

JustRite Papercraft - Watercolor Floral Silhouettes - You Are Amazing Card

Hello everyone!  I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.  Thank you all so very much for all of your sweet comments, thoughts and prayers for my husband and myself.  He is doing great and back to work.  :)  I have been starting to feel a little better too and I can tell the meds are starting to work.  I am still having pain but it is no where near as bad as it was.  But I have to be careful and not over do it--if I do too much then my arm starts to really hurt. So I do a little and then take a break and then come back to it in a bit.  But I am very thankful my husband is doing great and I am getting better too.  We truly appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers!!

I have several projects that have actually been done for a couple of weeks but with everything going on and not feeling well I have fallen behind so you will probably be seeing several projects in the next few days--as long and my hand and arm are ok to type.  :)

Today, I have a pretty watercolor card to share with you using some of the new stamp releases from JustRite Papercraft.  I love this new stamp set--the flowers are so fun and kind of remind me of a combination of whimsical dandelions and elegant Queen Ann's Lace.  I think these image could be used for fun and playful cards--like this watercolor card or if they were embossed in a metallic color they could be very elegant.  I used the CR-05029 Floral Silhouettes One Clear Stamps with VersaMark ink for the background and heat embossed using Tonic Studios - NUVO White Embossing Powder.  Then I used the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens - Light Carmine, Orange, Pale green, Light Green, Light Blue, and Cobalt Blue to watercolor the flowers and the background.  For the paper I used Strathmore Mixed Media, this is my favorite paper to use when I am stamping and doing watercolor.  The paper is ultra smooth so you get a nice crisp stamped image every time, since it is for mixed media it can handle the water and the paper is 140 lbs so it is a nice heavy paper.

After the watercolor was dry I used a paintbrush with clean water to add the water drops and then blotted them off with a paper towel.  I added a few white flat back pearls to the center or some of the flowers and then scattered a few more on the card.  I used  Ranger - Multi Medium Matte to adhere the pearls, it is a really good and strong liquid adhesive.  For the sentiment I used one of the stamps from the CR-05028 Chrysanthemums Clear Stamps set and stamped in on to pink cardstock.  I stamped it with VersaMark ink and then used more of the Tonic Studios - NUVO White Embossing Powder to heat set the sentiment.  Then I used one of the dies from the DIE-05001 JustRite Snowflake and Tag Dies.  To adhere the tag die cut I added some white twine, wrapped it around the card base a couple of times and tied a bow.

I used Scor-Tape and white craft form to adhere the watercolor piece to the pink cardstock base.

Thanks so much for joining me today and I hope you liked the card share!

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Penny Black Snow Dust and Warm Wishes Card

Hello blogging friends!  Today, is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  I have a beautiful winter card that is packed full of lots of sparkle.

This card could also be used for a Christmas card, birthday or thinking of you simply by changing out the sentiment.  For the focal image I used a stamp from Penny Black - Snow Dust.  This is such a simple but yet beautiful image.  I used VersaMark ink to stamp the image and then heat embossed using Ranger Super Fine Detailed Gold Embossing Powder on to white cardstock.  Then I stamped and embossed the sentiment.  For the sentiment I used JustRite Papercraft - Extra Grand Holiday Sentiments.  Then I added a thin strip of the Bazzill - Gold Mirror Cardstock to the bottom of the card.  I used a Sakura Quickie Glue Pen to add the Stampendous Crystal Glitter in and around the trees.  I have a couple of close up pictures to show how sparkly the trees really are.  Beautiful like glistening snow.

In this picture you can see some of the sparkle from the glitter.

Here is another picture where you can see even more of the sparkle from the glitter.

To finish off the card I added some May Arts Metallic String Ribbon - White to the bottom of the card and tied it in a simple knot.  I also added a few My Mind's Eye - Record It! Charmed Enamel Dots.  To add some dimension to the card I used Therm-O-Web Foam Squares on the top layer and then added that to a white cardstock base.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  I hope you are enjoying this Christmas holiday season!  I can't believe Christmas is next week!! I still have so much to do LOL! :)

JustRite Papercraft October New Release - Peonies Clear Stamps and Coordinating Dies - Peonies and Mason Jar Card

Hello everyone!  Toady, I have one last project to share with you using a New Release stamp set and coordinating die set from JustRite Papercraft.  This stamp set is another favorite of mine from the release and I love the little mason jar!

Here is the card I designed using the new CR-02198 Peonies Clear Stamps and DIE-02213 Peonies Cutting Dies from JustRite Papercraft.  I stamped the peonies twice for each flower on to Strathmore Mixed Media paper using StazOn Jet Black ink and then I used the dies to die cut each shape. I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers for all of the coloring.

Here is a close up of the peonies.  I used craft foam to layer in between the die cut layers for some added dimension.

I die cut the mason jar twice--one using Strathmore Mixed Media paper and for the second die cut I used a piece of clear acetate.  I did a watercolor wash on the mixed media die cut jar and for the acetate I stamped with StazOn Jet Black ink.  I used a craft knife to cut a small slit at the top of the mason jar so I could slide the flower stems inside the jar.  I used Ranger Multi Medium Matte to adhere the paper and acetate along the edges.  To finish off the jar I added some craft foam to the back for added dimension and tied a bow with some twine.  I die cut another small flower and added that to the bottom of the card next to the mason jar.

Here is another view so you can see the layers and dimension.

To finish off the card I did a watercolor wash on the background.  I backed the mixed media paper with craft foam and placed it on a light blue A2 size top folding card base.

JustRite Papercraft October New Release - Pinwheel Daisies Happy Birthday Watercolor Card

Hello everyone!  Today, I have another card to share with you using one of the newest releases from JustRite Papercraft.  I used the CR-02196 Pinwheel Daisies Clear Stamps from  to create my card.  If you love flowers and coloring you will love this new stamp set.

I think this might be one of the brightest and boldest cards I have ever designed lol but I have to say I am loving the bright colors on this card.  I started by stamping the floral images on to Strathmore Mixed Media with StazOn Jet Black ink.  Then I colored the images and the background with the  Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.  I used Light Pink, Pink, Bright Yellow, Orange, Light Violet, Violet, Pale Green, Light Green, and Cobalt Blue for the coloring.  Then I added some water to Distress Ink - Black Soot and used a paint brush to flick on the paint splatters.  I used a number 8 round watercolor brush.

Here you can see a close up of the coloring.

Next I used 164E Happy Birthday Pansy Topper Die Set from Tonic Studios to die cut a piece of black craft foam for the Happy Birthday sentiment.  Before die cutting the craft foam I backed it with some Stick It Adhesive Sheets so it would be easy to apply to the card front.  I used one of the dies from 636E Fanciful Flutter Keepsake Frame & Insert Die Set from Tonic Studios to create the die cut with the scalloped and dotted edges.  Then I cut a piece of black cardstock for a mat and rounded the edges with a corner punch.  I layered the two pieces with more black craft foam.  I used JustRite Custom Dies - Die-02144 Pinwheel Daisies Die Set to create the purple flower.  I added Zig Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the sentiment and the flower and then I covered both pieces with Glossy Accents for a pretty and sparkly shine.

Here you can see some of the dimension on the card with the layers.

To finish off the card I added some aqua rhinestones.

JustRite Papercraft - New Release Doodled Roses - You Are A Blessing Watercolor Card

Hello everyone!  I am back to share another New Release from JustRite Papercraft.  For my card today I am using the CR-02194 Doodled Roses Clear Stamp Set and I have to say I think this is one of my favorite sets from the release.  I love how this stamp set can be used for CAS (Clean And Simple) cards and also for elegant cards.  I love the sentiments too!

Here is a look at the card I designed.  To start I die cut a piece of Strathmore Mixed Media paper using one of the dies from the Tonic Studios633E Indulgence Keepsakes - Regal Frame & Lovebird Insert Die Set.  Next, I applied painter's tape along the edge of the die cut and then I stamped the images of the Doodled Rose with VersaMark ink and then I added Ranger Super Fine Detailed Embossing Powder.  I removed the tape and then heat set the embossing powder.  I also stamped the sentiment using StazOn Jet Black.  Then I applied more of the painter's tape along the edge of the die cut.  Doing this helps to keep a white outer edge.  I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers - Light Pink, Bright Yellow (looks like light orange), Yellow, Pale Green, Light Green along with a Watercolor Brush Round 8 to watercolor the images and the background.  I used a heat tool to speed up the drying process in between the layers of paint.

Here is a close up of the watercolor.  I love how the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers blend so easily and the colors are beautiful and vibrant.

I cut the larger die cut shape from the Tonic Studios633E Indulgence Keepsakes - Regal Frame & Lovebird Insert Die Set with black cardstock and layered the two pieces together.  I used craft foam (fun foam) along with Scor Tape to layer in between the layers.  Craft foam is a great alternative to pop dots or 3D foam squares.  A lot of times I use a combination of both.  The nice thing about the craft foam is it give you a smooth even coverage on larger areas.  Just be sure to use a strong adhesive like Scor Tape or something similar.

Here you can see the dimension in the layers.

The base of the card is black and the card measures 3-3/4 x 6-3/4.  For the background I used a piece of raspberry cardstock and I stamped the Doodles Roses using VersaMark ink.  Then I layered a piece of orange swiss dot behind the raspberry paper. To finish off the card I added some black and hot pink rhinestones.

Please be sure to visit the Design Team Members in the link list below to see what they have created to share with you.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi
