Blue Frost and Crystal Beaded Jewel Loom Bracelet

Hello everyone!  Today, I have a beautiful bracelet to share with you using the Jewel Loom™ by Julianna C Hudgins from Beadalon® and gorgeous crystals and beads from Connie Crystal™.

BlueFrostCrystalBeadedJewelLoomBracelet-6

To create the bracelet, I use 4 strands of  Artistic Wire® 22 Ga Non Tarnish Silver for the warp threads on the Jewel Loom™.  I used Light Blue Frosted Round Beads and Sapphire Round Crystals to weaved 37 rows using the WildFire ™ Frost Weaving Thread.  Next I added the  Suncatcher Mixed Media Blue Theme crystals and beads to the center and wire wrapped to attach them to the bracelet and hold in place.    Then I removed the bracelet band from the loom and made loops on the end of each wire.  I connected the wires with jump rings and added a clasp.  I also added some SS16 Clear Flat Back Crystals from ButterBeeScraps.

ButterBeeScraps - Spellbinders - Two Necklaces and a Card - Bezels

Hello everyone!  So sorry my posts have been few and far between lately!  I still haven't been feeling the best and I think it has kind of zapped my mojo.  I have lots of things I want to create and several ideas but you know how it is when you don't feel very good--you sit down to craft and it just doesn't always come out looking the way you want it to or you just don't have the energy lol.  But I have been creating some new things here and there.  Today, I have a few projects to share with you.

I have two necklaces and a card that I designed.  I used the same bezel on all three projects.  I wanted to be able to show you how you can use bezels not only for jewelry making but also in your paper crafting projects.

Before I share the details of each project I want to show you how I used Stazon inks to distress and change the color of the bezels.

The bezels started out as silver.  For the first layer of ink I applied Saddle Brown StazOn ink to the entire bezel.  I used a sponge to apply the ink.  There is a StazOn Glaze that you can apply in between ink colors if you are adding layers and don't want your colors to mix.  But for this projects I didn't use the glaze because I wanted the colors to mix and blend a little.

For the second layer I used Timber Brown StazOn ink.  I didn't cover the entire piece because I still wanted some of the Saddle Brown in to show through.

For the last layer I used Jet Black StazOn ink and I lightly applied it around the edges.  Once this was dry then I used the StazOn Glaze to seal the inks.  I also lightly sanded the bezels to reveal some of the silver metal and give them more of an aged look.

Here is the first necklace I designed.  Both of the necklaces are long (18'' to 20'').  I used one of the small filigree pieces on the inside of the necklace and I cut it in half and put one half on each side with the part that would have been the end pointing towards the center.  Then I added a Copper Flower Charm.  I used a flush cutter to cut off the loop on the charm and filed it down so it would be smooth.  I added some Flat Back Crystals SS12, SS16.  I also added 2 mm rhinestone chain around the inside of the bezel.

Here is a close up.

I wanted to be able to add a dangle to the bezel so I attached Large Filigree Silver piece to the back of the bezel using E6000.  For my dangle I used Small Rhinestone CharmsSmall Bronze Bead Cap CAP052-B

Now for the card.

This is a card that I made for my husband for Valentine's Day using one of the bezels.  For the card I used black and deep red cardstock.  To create the die cuts I used S5-217 A2 Valiant Honor and  S5-207 Labels Thirty-Eight die templates from Spellbinders Paper Arts®.  I layered the die cuts and added 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L for some added dimension.

Here is a close up of the bezel.  I used the same inking technique and then I added a Gunmetal Decorative Key Pendant (KY901-GM)Heart Charm and a few Flat Back Crystals Siam (red) SS12, SS16.  I finished it off by adding a LOVE word block and some black ribbon.

Here is the second necklace that I designed.  I used the same bezel and inking techniques as I did on the two other projects.  On the inside of the bezels I added some 2 mm Rhinestone Chain and Silver German Glass Glitter.  Then I added a Butterfly Charm from the Natures Garden Charm Collection, a few Flat Back Crystals SS12, SS16 and a FAITH word block.  I also added some glossy accents on top of the word block.  I used E6000 to adhere a Silver Filigree (025-P) to the back of the bezel so I would be able to hang a crystal.  I used some bronze 20 Ga wire to attach the Clear Glass Chandelier Drop GL1437-CL.

Here is a close up of the bezel.  I love all of the sparkle from the crystals and glitter!

I hope you enjoyed the project and the quick tutorial with the StazOn ink!  I think it's a lot of fun to incorporate the metal pieces, charms, and filigrees into both jewelry and paper crafting projects and I hope these projects will inspire you to do the same.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

Autumn Vintage Labels Three Clear Stamp Set-JustRite Papercraft September New Release Day 1

Hello blogging friends!  Today, starts the kick off to a week of New Releases from JustRite Papercraft.  For Day 1 the New Releases include a clear stamp set and a cling background stamp.

For my project I used the CR-04725 Autumn Vintage Labels Three Clear Stamp Set.  I stamped the image using Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored the image using Copic markers.  Then I used S4-114 Standard Circles LGS4-412 Gold Rounds One Enhancing Elements die templates from Spellbinders® to cut/emboss the die cut shape.

Here is a close up of the image and the Copic markers I used.  The markers are also listed below in the supplies.

Here is a close up of the image in the frame.  I also used a sentiment from the same stamp set.  For the frame I started by applying ivory acrylic paint.  Then I added some texture paste.  Once that was dry then I applied Martha Stewart Black Coffee Metallic Glaze over the entire frame and buffed off the excess.  To finish the frame I rubber StazOn Sadle Brown ink pad over the frame to add a little more brown tone and to pick up the detail of the texture paste.

To embellish the frame I added a Large Bronze Metal Filigree piece from ButterBeeScraps to the top center.  Then I used S4-385 Little Leaf Sets and S5-120 Fall Foliage die templates to cut/emboss Spellbinders® Media Mixáge MM1-003 Copper Sheets.  I shaped the leaves and then I added Rub 'n Buff Patina to all of the copper pieces.  I added a little bit of bling for some sparkle.  I also added some metal corner pieces that I had in my stash and applied a little Rub 'n Buff Patina and bling.

Once the frame was done then I added the stamped image with a piece of burlap in the background.  For the hanger I used Artistic Wire Gun Metal 20 Ga.

Please be sure to visit each of the Design Team Members in the link list below and leave them a little love.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I can't wait to hear what you think about the New Releases from JustRite Papercraft.

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

Be Mine Valentine

EDIT**Sorry, I'm not sure what happened with this post.  It was supposed to go live on Valentine's Day and I just realized it didn't post.

Happy Valentine's Day!!  Today, I have a Valentine to share with you using some of the die templates from Julianna's Positively Me Collection, Artistic Wire and a little bit of glitter over on the Positively Me Blog.

I made this card for my husband and I wanted it to have a little sparkle but not over the top.  Sometimes creating masculine cards can be a little hard, especially for Valentine's Day.  I thought the red, white and black color combination would be good.

To find out all of the details, see more pictures and a step-by-step tutorial please click HERE to visit the Positively Me Blog.

I hope you have a very Happy Valentine's Day with your special someone!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

I designed a set of jewel dungeon keys for Halloween.  I thought this key ring would make a great accent piece with other Halloween decorations and it's quick and easy to make.

Flower Mesh Necklace

Hello!  Today, I have a necklace to share with you using Positively Me - Julianna Hudgins Jewel Flowers & Flourishes Nestaboard (S5-143) from Want2Scrap and some beautiful 18 mm Silver Mesh from Artistic Wire.  This was my first time playing with the Silver Mesh and I had so much fun!  You can twist it, stretch it, fill it with beads--so many possibilities with the mesh!

Here is the necklace I designed.  I used Amber Shell Coins, Shell Beads, Champagne Pearls and 18 mm Silver Mesh.  The Shell Coins and Shell Beads have a look of pearl when the light hits them so the colors work perfectly with the Champagne Pearls and Silver Mesh.  The flower picks up both the dark tones in the Shell Coins, Shell Beads and the Pearls.

Here are a couple of close up pictures of the necklace.  To find all of the details and see more pictures please click HERE to check out my post on the Positively Me by Julianna C. Hudgins Blog.  I have a full step-by-step tutorial with several pictures to share with you on how I designed this necklace.

Butterfly Necklace with Spellbinders, Shimmer Sheetz & Artistic Wire

Hello blogging friends! Today, I have a fun necklace to share with you that will be perfect for Spring. We have had a very mild winter here in MN which I am thankful for but I am ready for Spring. I can't wait to see the sunshine, green grass and blooming flowers!

Here is the necklace that I designed. I used LF-006 Wonderful Wings die template from Spellbinders, Blue Iris Shimmer Sheetz from Elizabeth Craft Designs, Rose & Amethyst wire from Artistic Wire and Glitter & Rhinestones from The Rubber Cafe.

I am SO excited to share this with you because while I was at CHA and demoing in the Spellbinders booth I figured out how to be able to cut the Shimmer Sheetz using the Grand Calibur and Spellbinders die templates. The Shimmer Sheetz are an iridescent and metallic Mylar sheet.

To start I tape the die template down really good. I wouldn't normally add this much tape if I was die cutting paper but the Shimmer Sheetz can kind of curl up a little bit from the die cutting and the pressure of the machine so I have found that adding several pieces of tape to hold the die template in place will keep this from happening.

Next place the die template with the Shimmer Sheetz along the edge of the Base Plate (on the side). You will want to turn the die template over so the cut side is facing up--I am just showing it the opposite way for the picture so you can see where it would be placed.

Then shim with one to two pieces of cardstock. The butterfly die template that I used is very detailed and has a lot of drop out pieces so I used two pieces of cardstock.

Look at the beautiful results!! **For the necklace I used 2 shimmer sheet die cuts and 2 cardstock die cuts of the butterfly and layered them with a Shimmer Sheetz on top, then 2 pieces of cardstock and another Shimmer Sheetz on the bottom and I used Glossy Accents from Ranger to adhere and layer all of the pieces.

After I had all of the layers together then I edged the butterfly with Scrap Happy Sheer Glue and Terrifically Teal Glitter from The Rubber Cafe. Then I added Clear Rhinestones (coming soon!) to the body of the butterfly and then I applied a two layers of Glossy accents to the front and one to the back of the butterfly.

Once the butterfly piece was dry (I let it sit for 24 hours) then I added a silver chain and I used 22 Ga. Silver Plated Rose & Amethyst Wire from Artistic Wire and tools (listed below) from Beadalon to create these fun swirls. I added Clear Rhinestones (coming soon!) and colored then with B06 Peacock Blue Copic marker.

One more thing to share...

On a more personal note--while I was at CHA I was able to get my copy of the New Artistic Wire Wireded Cards & Embellishments and my Friendships Bloom card (the rose card) is on the Front Cover!! So honored and so excited to see my card on the cover!!!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful and creative day!!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

Haunted Halloween Treat Box

Good morning blogging friends! Today, I have a fun and whimsical Halloween Treat Box tutorial to share with you.

How fun is this little treat box with the bats flying through the air! I was so happy with how this treat box turned out and it was pretty quick and easy to make.

For the base of the box I used Posh Tangelo Dungaree cardstock from Discount Cardstock. I used the Grand Calibur and LF-010 Square Bracket Edge Box from Spellbinders to cut/emboss the pieces for the box. Then I used a bone folder when folding to make sure I had nice crisp folds. I applied Crafty Power Tape from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™ on all of the tabs and then assembled the box.

Here is a picture of the top and bottom of the box.

Next I used Midnight Black cardstock from Discount Cardstock along with the Grand Calibur and S4-280 Halloween Fence Scenes & Shapes to cut/emboss two of the picket fence die cut shapes. Then I used a 2-way glue pen to adhere the die cuts around the top of the box.

To create the little bats I used Midnight Black cardstock from Discount Cardstock and the S4-277 Nested Bats die templates to cut/emboss the shapes. Then I coiled some Black wire from Artistic Wire and glued to the back of the bats. For the eyes I used Baby Bling Red Rhinestones from Want2Scrap™.

I used Midnight Black cardstock with S4-280 Halloween Fence Scenes & Shapes to cut/emboss two haunted houses and then I cut out a piece of Orange 65# and I layered all three pieces with the Orange 65# in the middle. To add the bats I tucked the wire in between the layers and added some glue to hold the bats in place and close off the top of the house.

Now you can fill the little box with some goodies for your little ghost or goblin. Both Posh Tangelo Dungaree and Midnight Black are on sale this week at Discount Cardstock. Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a creative day!!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi
