~Vale - Aunty Ausma~

On 22nd May 2071 this year my Dear Aunt Ausma (Dawn) passed away after some health setbacks....

She was my Beloved Godmother and Aunt
She did beautiful Tapestries......one pictured above
A great Knitter too........she used to knit for David Jones (department store)
She could play Canasta with 2 decks of cards
She was a talented Musician and this talent runs through the Family
She rang me on every Birthday and in between

Her and my Family had a hard time escaping the war having to leave everything behind and start all over again in a new country, Australia, but they did it

I will certainly miss her especially her cheery voice on my Birthday

And as is said in Latvijan
Milestiba nekad nebeidzas
(Love never dies)

Rest In Peace dear Aunt
Atkal redzesinas (until we meet again)

~Vale...Louella~

I can't believe this...
2 Vales in a row

On Monday I was told by one of JoJo's Careworkers that Louella had passed away last week
Louella has played a huge part in our lives (since we made our Sea Change) as a Respite Care Co-ordinator for us

She was extremely helpful to us when I broke my arm
and helped us out with meals and much assistance in other ways while Mr Armchair was run off his feet caring for me and then JoJo
She went over and above to assist us how she could

Louella was one of our first points of contact here with services and she always made sure everything was just right and that we were happy

Thank you so much dear Louella for all your kindness and assistance
We will miss you........Dzintra and family xoxoxo

~ Vale - Inesa ~

It is with great sadness that I write this post...
My Friend from Orange, Inesa, has passed away...
Even though I haven't seen her for a few years I did think of her often

I first met her at The Owl's House.......a lovely little Sewing Shop in Bathurst back in the 1990's when I heard her say her name to the shopowner and of course it caught my ear as it was a Latvian name......
We started chatting there and then and I regularly saw her while we lived in Bathurst at that time...

Inesa was a very talented Craftslady and I remember when she bought her knitting machine and made me some woolen track pants......
Above is a pic of one of the trackies with her Nifty Label on it....

and here are both pairs......

For my 40th birthday she bought me these pottery items above
How treasured all these things are to me now as I don't have a photo of Inesa handy
I think I have one in a box somewhere
If I ever do come across one I will post it up

May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind always be at your back

May the sun shine warm upon your face
And rains fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again
May God hold you in the palm of His hand

Inesa leaves behind her Husband Paddy, Amanda, Kevin and Aimee

Rest In Peace dear Inesa......I will miss you
Love Ingrid  xoxoxoxoxoxox

~Vale...P A R I S~

This is one post I never dreamed of making...
Yesterday our sweet little Terrier * P A R I S * was run over and didn't survive...
She used to sit at the top of the stairs and be 'on guard' while I was in my sewing room

We're pretty certain that she got out through the back fence as our new neighbour on the weekend was there pulling down lattice and plants and didn't realize that a paling was made loose as he ripped it all down...

I mentioned to my Friend Tracey through Facebook that she was missing and if she saw her could she let us know...
As soon as I sent the message she rang and said she had heard off a friend that there was a Terrier who had not survived a four wheel/drive towing a caravan running into her and that the local Vet had such a doggie there...

Mr Armchair quickly zipped up to the Vet as I prepared to get ready to go to the Theatre and yes....he came home with her....we were all very very sad...

She was at a local cafe/bakery that morning and they gave her a pie (she would've loved that) and locked her up but unfortunately she escpaed........

At least she is back home here and we know what happened to her
I have heard of stories where people never find out what happens to their beloved Pets

We'll miss you   * P A R I S *
Thank you for a wonderful 9 years and 10 months xoxoxoxoxo
I still can't believe it......

In the early hours of this morning I had the very sad news that my dear Son-in-Law's Sister had passed away after a very brave and courageous battle with cancer...
My Heart goes out to him as he and his Sister both lost their Mother suddenly in February this year as well...
She leaves a young man just turned 18...
So very very sad...
This poem I found brought Kerri to mind straightaway...
Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

Rest in Peace dear sweet Kerri...

Vale ~ Mille...

Mille's beloved Surf Beach

VALE ~ This morning I received the very sad news that our neighbour ~Mille~ had passed away. Mille had been coming to this area for 35 years in the house next door to ours. My Heart and Prayers go to his Widow Ivka and their Family...they were here every second weekend...and sometimes in between. I couldn't leave this day without remembering Mille ~

You would know the Secret of Death,

But how shall you find it unless you seek it in the Heart of Life?

The Owl whose night-bound eyes are blind unto

the Day cannot unveil the Mystery of Light.

If you would indeed behold the Spirit of Death,

Open your Heart wide unto the Body of Life.

For Life and Death are One,

Even as River and Sea are One.

Welcome To My World

Hello, my name is Dzintra Ingrid ... have been known as Ingrid and since our Sea Change I have started to use Dzintra ... pronounced without the D ... (but still known as Ingrid, I know, it's confusing ...)

Welcome to my world ... a journal of our Sea Change ... Mum to three wonderful children ... bringing up a daughter with a disability and seeing life through her eyes ... being a new Nanna ... photos ... inspiring quotes ... taking on a cookery course ... the odd recipe ... and trying to get some stitching done amongst all this ...
