Sewing, Reading, The Kitchen...A Landslip and Bay Theatre Players

Boy isn't this year just screaming along...already May here and to think the Sun will be making it's way back to our part of the world next month!!!

Isn't this just the sweetest little pouch above stitched by Fiona at my Needlework Group

and here it is opened up...

I'm thinking I might do it in this fabric...bright paisleys by Dear Stella...
quite different from my usual darker fabrics but I think I just love paisley!!!

And who can resist Miss Fisher, played by Essie Davis especially her costumes...her hair and what she gets up to!!!
I've bought the first book by Kerry Greenwood and can see myself slowly getting the full series...
Just love the show and settings of the 1920's...mesmerizing!!!

After getting a new stove last year we found that the lino didn't make it to the full width of the floor and after some time (months and months) we purchased some black and white chequered lino...

Miss Fisher even has something similar!!!

As we expected there was timber underneath the lino and now we are thinking we might try to do a bit of sanding and leave it there rather than cover it over...we'll see how we go with it!!!

A few weeks ago due to heavy rain there was a landslip on the Clyde Mountain due to heavy rain...
Mr Armchair commutes on this road during the week...luckily it was all fixed within a week!!!

Pics from the internet...

Our small local theatre...The Bay Theatre Players has just finished up their first play for this year...
'We Found Love and an Exquisite set of Porcelain Figurines aboard the SS Farndale Avenue'

The set...

The cast...

Another great play and a very popular one being done by many Amateur Theatre companies!!!

The next play scheduled is Season's Greetings by Alan Ayckbourn

'It's Christmas in July, and passions flare as family, friends and an unexpected guest endure three days of Christmas  holiday festivities...Ayckbourn's customary ironic views on life and love combine with excessive seasonal spirit(s) to present this perfect gift of a show'

Playing:  Preview 15 July-August 4

and I'm one of the 'singing' Policemen!!!

A new button...and a very special dinner at The Little Restaurant!!!

Here is the little button from my Stitching Day in the previous post...
I had this lovely house fabric and thought it fitted in just nicely...

I found a spot for 'my house in the hills'...I cut out a little house and will applique it onto the green hill behind the house on the left...I think this is called fussy-cutting?

Mr Armchair and I don't get a whole lot of time to go out with each other due to caring for JoJo...
my DD suggested she come down one Friday evening and be with her while we go out and the next evening she will go out with her DH while we babysat for her...

Great idea I thought...let's do it!!!
We chose to go out to this little place that seats 25 people...
when I knew we were going out I booked 2 seats 2 weeks prior to the evening (just to make sure we got in)...we also went to the Bay Theatre Players that evening and pre booked our tickets as well...
Lookout...here we come!!!

Coming up to the restaurant...

our table...

the wine...

Wild Rabbit and Pistachio Nut Terrine with Beetroot Relish, Red Onion Jam, Cornichons and Crusty Bread...absolutely delicious!!!

House made Pita with Pumpkin, Potato and Beetroot Dip...

The kitchen was very obliging when I asked for some carrots for the dip as I am gluten intolerant...

HOT chips...

Soft Shell Crab crisp fried with Nam Jim...

Aged grass fed Sirloin, Potato Mash, Mushrooms, Red Onion Jam and Shiraz Jus...

Chocolate Mousse with Orange and Pistachio Nut Praline...yum, yum, yum!!!

Banana Pudding with Coconut and Palm Sugar Sauce and Vanilla Ice Cream!!!

A great meal...a great show...and next post I'll write about The Woman in Black that played at the theatre!!!

Thanks Gary and staff for this very tasty evening...Dzintra

Today I'm off to take JoJo to a local production of The Women at our local theatre group
The Women is a 2008 American comedy film written, produced and directed by Diane English. The screenplay is an updated version of the George Cukor-directed 1939 film of the same name based on a 1936 play by Clare Boothe Luce.
Happy Stitching...and Happy Sunday...Dzintra

Welcome To My World

Hello, my name is Dzintra Ingrid ... have been known as Ingrid and since our Sea Change I have started to use Dzintra ... pronounced without the D ... (but still known as Ingrid, I know, it's confusing ...)

Welcome to my world ... a journal of our Sea Change ... Mum to three wonderful children ... bringing up a daughter with a disability and seeing life through her eyes ... being a new Nanna ... photos ... inspiring quotes ... taking on a cookery course ... the odd recipe ... and trying to get some stitching done amongst all this ...
