A Catch Up Post

Mr Armchair is having a few issues with his leg at the moment
Blood tests are clear as is an x-Ray so it's off for an MRI to see what is going on
This means double-duty caring for me along with JoJo
But nevertheless we had some respite care booked for night out at our local Indian Restaurant so he hobbled along to that

I couldn't have the Nan Bread as it isn't gluten free but was very happy with my Pappadums......so crisp and crunchy

Only 2 gluten free Entrees so I chose this Lamb Mince Roll with A Mint Sauce......very, very tasty!
Beef Rogan Josh for him......Chicken for me and Sultana and Saffron Rice
No Dessert for me......they seem to put Wheat Flour into everything......this time in the Mango Purée which is behind the Cream and Wafer.
We thoroughly enjoyed a few hours off and was inspired to go here after seeing The Hundred Foot Journey.

Couldn't resist this little pic of my gorgeous Great Nephew Connor

And in my sewing world I am working on my Faerie Quilt and enjoying collecting my Aurifil Thread Collection from Sarah

I'm having a bit of trouble keeping up with commenting on everyone's blogs but I do read them all......it's how I start my day before JoJo's up and when she is it's Game On along with Mr A as well.

Have a great week Dear Readers......Dzintra

One of the sections of the quilt
This quilt has quite a lot of stitching and beading on it

I had to test it out on a bed

and here it is in the afternoon sun today!!!
This quilt is an absolute joy to stitch and perfect for the evenings...

~New Fabric...Faerie Quilt Update and a Maker's Market in Braidwood~

On a trip up to the big smoke in Canberra a couple of weeks ago JoJo and I paid a visit to Hobbysew to get some thread........well of course we came home with more than just thread!!!
'Had to have' the above fabric in the most gorgeous shade of a smokey mauve
Fabric is Simply Imagine by Terri Degenkolb of Whimsicals for Red Rooster Fabrics

and also another one I had to have, co-incidentally by Terri also, in a smokey grey colour

I also came home with this little fat 1/8 by Lynette Anderson

I said to JoJo go and pick yourself some fabric and of course she chose Christmas...
this one is 'Nancy's Holiday Favorites by Nancy Halvorsen

She also chose a little Santa button

I saw this little The Christmas Goose pattern so we bought that and I'll make it up for JoJo perhaps without the stitchery and with just the little button.......she will love that!!!
Then I'll make one or 2 up as well with the little stitchery and then think I'm getting organized for Christmas LOL....

It doesn't look like I've done a lot of stitching but I have been working on the 2 side borders of my Faerie Quilt.......there is a LOT of stitchery on these but I am nearly there......

This is part of it all......

And if anybody's around the Braidwood area Little Finch is holding a Maker's Market next weekend......

Long weekend here this weekend so wishing everybody a good one!!!

Block E...A Gardener's Journal...and Faerie Kisses

Just before Christmas I completed Block E of A Gardeners Journal by Anni Downs...
This quilt is part of Stitch-a-long hosted by Chookyblue...
I have used lots of paisley and flowery prints in this quilt and it is starting to look really lovely now!!!

It's starting to come together really nicely...
Thank you Chooky and all the gals over at Stitch-a-long for your encouragement in this quilt!!!

I have also completed the next step in Faerie Kisses by Helen Stubbings of Hugs'nKissess

I have attached beads instead of doing French Knots...

The Shakespeare verse is on the border now...I'm getting there!!!

If you see a faery ring
In a field of grass,
Very lightly step around,
Tip-Toe as you pass,
Last night Faeries frolicked there
And they're sleeping somewhere near.
If you see a tiny faery Lying fast asleep
Shut your eyes And run away,
Do not stay to peek!
Do not tell Or you'll break a faery spell.

William Shakespeare
Now I better get a move on...I've got heaps to keep me going...
amongst other new projects!!!

Excitement, excitement...we have got tickets to view The Harry Potter Exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney..and I'm really looking forward to it!!!

Welcome To My World

Hello, my name is Dzintra Ingrid ... have been known as Ingrid and since our Sea Change I have started to use Dzintra ... pronounced without the D ... (but still known as Ingrid, I know, it's confusing ...)

Welcome to my world ... a journal of our Sea Change ... Mum to three wonderful children ... bringing up a daughter with a disability and seeing life through her eyes ... being a new Nanna ... photos ... inspiring quotes ... taking on a cookery course ... the odd recipe ... and trying to get some stitching done amongst all this ...
