Un(Caged) Bird Card
I used lots and lots of Tim Holtz and Hero Arts goodness for this shiny springtime card. Just couldn't bear to put the birdie inside his cage!
Stamp(s): Hero Arts (CG125 Friend Definition, CG119 Flourish Background, CL342 Everyday Sayings)
Ink(s): Tsukineko (VersaMark), Hero Arts (Soft Sand); Ranger (Pumice Stone, Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Spiced Marmalade, Walnut Stain)
Paper(s): Hero Arts (Powder Folded Card); Upcycled Packaging (Chipboard)
Other: Sizzix (Caged Bird); Recollections (Pearls); Ranger (Perfect Pearls); American Crafts (Embossing Powder)
Now I'm off to eat dinner (thanks hubby!) and then play with some new stamps that arrived today. So many stamps, so little time!
Thanks for looking! Comments are appreciated!

Merry Christmas!
Just for fun, here is a collage of the tags I made for the Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas this year:
Wow, Christmas Eve already? It sure seemed to come fast this year. There just never seems to be enough time to accomplish everything I set out to do at this time of year! I really don't like this (self-imposed?) stress and guilt that is associated with the holidays.
I didn't send nearly as many Christmas cards as I had hoped. Our decorating basically consisted of a wreath on the door, a little lighted Disney Christmas Tree on the mantle, and a kitty stocking my Mom brought for Dusty & Penny at Thanksgiving.
Last night I was busy finishing up a crafty project and my husband (with some gentle encouragement) wrapped a present for my Mom around 9:30 pm or so. He scored BIG husband points for that since he hates wrapping. The funny thing is he did a really good job on it. I was so impressed!
Then at about 10:15 pm I finally started making Gingerbread Cookies. I normally make a Gingerbread Cake for Christmas, but Stephen requested cookies this year. Since it was so late he helped me scoop them out of the mixing bowl (again BIG husband points) while I rolled them in sugar.
We had doubts if the cookies would come out ok, but they are really good! Here is our family recipe (ha!):
Oh well, I won't remember the things I didn't do for Christmas this year, but I will remember the time I spend with loved ones. Stephen and I will be seeing my Mom, Dad, Brother, and Sister-In-Law. And that is really the best part of the holidays.
I hope you have a very Merry Christmas with your loved ones.

Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas (My Day 12)
Here is the final tag I created for the Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas based on Day 12 using Hero Arts stamps (my favorite stamps):

Hero Arts stamps: H2365 (Writing) and CL285 (Flourish).
Here is a close-up of the flower. I think it came out really nice, and I hardly ever think that about the things I make!
The flower was made with Grungepaper (Different than Grungeboard; I didn't even know it existed until this morning!), Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists (instead of Distress Reinkers and Perfect Pearls), and lots of Zip Dry glue (instead of Glossy Accents).
Thanks so much for visiting and enjoy the rest of your weekend! Your comments are very appreciated!

Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas (My Day 11)
Here is the tag I created for the Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas based on Day 11 using Hero Arts stamps (my favorite stamps) plus a Tim Holtz truck stamp (not the reindeer he used because I didn't have anything quite like it):
Hero Arts stamps: AR159 (Snowflakes) and CL285 (Flourish).
Here is a close-up of the brads I made using my new i-Top (purchased with a 40% off coupon at Michael's). Cool tool, but not quite as easy as the instructions and DVD imply. I messed up at least a few of the brads before I got it to work fairly well. The images are printed directly on Sticky Back Canvas (Santa) and Inkjet Fabric Paper (snowman face and bird).

Wow, only ONE day left now! I am sad to see it end, but I have A LOT of other stuff I need to get started on after Day 12!
Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend! Your comments are very appreciated!

Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas (My Day 10)
Here is the tag I created for the Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas based on Day 10. Tim did not stamp on his tag, but I just had to add some Hero Arts stamps (my favorite stamps):
Hero Arts stamps: AR159 (Snowflakes; upper left corner but hard to see in the photo) and CL285 (Flourish; stamped on the raised shapes and letters).
My other supplies were fairly similar to the ones Tim used, with some substitutions. For example, I used plain chipboard (pre-made letters and I handcut the heart and star) instead of grungeboard, QuicKutz adhesive-backed metal instead of metal tape, and felt applicators instead of Adirondack alcohol ink fillable pen. I also added some extra white punched snowflakes just for fun.
Have I mentioned how much I love my new Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher? Super small staples perfect for cardmaking and more. It was used to create the faux stitching on this tag.
Here are some close-ups:

Only TWO more days to go now. This has been so much fun!
Thanks so much for visiting! Your comments are very appreciated!
