Sea Life Mixed media Panel - Pascale B

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with a mixed-media panel inspired by the sea life.

First I primed my canvas board with black gesso. I added two designs. The first one with the River Stone Stencel and gold paste to represent the sea floor, and the Second with the Confetti #2 Stencil and Ice Crushed Jewel paste for the bubbles.

I also primed the chipboard with black gesso except for the Coral Elements. I covered the latter with a light modeling paste. With my spatula, I made some peaks to give some dimension to the coral.

Next, I covered all the cogs I've selected from the Jumbo Cogs #2 and Mini Cogs #2 sets with Rust Effect Pastes.

I glued all the elements of the composition with a 3D gel except the Marine Mechanicals Fish. I selected different green, turquoise, and yellow waxes to color the Ocean Elements I've chosen.

For the Coral Mixed, I chose red and coral waxes. I highlighted all the elements with gold and silver waxes.

I used different shades of blue and turquoise to color the fish. I highlighted the details with metallic waxes. When Happy, I glued the fish.

MDF Caddy - Pascale B Scrap

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with a caddy. Have you seen all the new MDF available?

Before assembling the Caddy, I primed it with white gesso and covered all the pieces with tissue paper. When done, I added a design with the Postcard stencil and a gold paste.

I selected different gears that I primed with black gesso. I primed also some Small Tea Leaves and Rose Leaves. I colored the leaves with bronze, gold, and silver waxes.

I created four clusters with the gears and cogs: one on each side of the caddy. When happy with the composition, I covered all the elements with rust paste. Next, I added the metallic flowers and the leaves.

To finish, I added some glitter.

ONE BIG Adventure - Rikki G - Sketch inspiration

Good morning how are you? I hope you are finding time to relax and enjoy the details of the festive season, plenty of little traditions happen and need to be documented. And this months Dusty Attic Sketch Challenge really works well for highlighting these details.

The photos I edited into circles though photoshop and then just printed the sheet off which allowed me to pick a 12x12 format to get my scale right, then I just printed A4.

The Cog Cluster I only had one left so I chopped in half and that allowed me to work around the top and bottom of the photos.....

The View Finders mimic the other cogs in the clusters and you can also chop them in half to extend them throughout the layout.

I hope you have time to join us for  our challenge this month.

All you need to do is add your take of the challenge into the comments section on the Dusty FANattics Facebook page HERE for your chance to win one of two amazing $50 Credits to choose any.

Good Luck and have fun creating.

Romantic Steampunk Box - Anat Weksler

 Hello friends!

It's Anat here with a new project using fabulous Dusty Attic's chipboards.

I've altered another box, this time in a Romantic Steampunk style.

I lined the Box with beautiful papers from Craft O'clock brand.

The chipboards were colored with impasto paints and rubbed with metalique waxes.

here are the gorgeous chippies used in this project:

Scrapbooking is cheaper than Therapy - Storage Boxes - Heather Woodall

 Good morning

Today I've done these storage boxes for you. Yep there is two, but I decided to attach and decorate as one piece. It is a great size to store your Dusty stencils on one side and some Dusty chipboard on the other. Or you could have feminine chipboard on one side and masculine on the other. It is also a great size to have on your desk, it's not too bulky to take up too much space, and it a great way to bring a pop of colour and art to your working area.

I started with the cute file style storage boxes that Jennifer created (these will be available on the website soon) and covered with the Sir Vagabond and Lady Vagabond papers. I decided to do a feminine side and a more masculine side.

I then used Winged Script Stencil (DA3593) with some heavy body gel and gold wax as a really soft texture.

I then added the title "Scrapbooking is cheaper than Therapy" (DA3593). This I painted with a very soft aqua chalk paint.

On the feminine side I used Gears #2 by Nuneka (DA2744). They were inked with a chocolate brown chalk paint and a few of them had some gold wax added to them.

On the masculine side I used a combination of Industrial Cluster #1 (DA3373) and Mini Cogs #3 (DA3364). Again they were painted with chocolate brown chalk paint and then some had some gold wax added to them.

I really enjoyed doing this project, I hope you've enjoyed having a look at it.

Thank you.

Heather
