Hello Today - Heather Woodall

 Good morning

Today I've just done 1 card, but there was many hours in this card. As with a lot of my brighter more artsy projects, it has been inspired by techniques that I learnt from the lovely Tracy Scott

I started with some white cardstock and my Dusty Attic Stencil DA1318 Warped Flower Stencil. I laid the stencil on my card front then traced it with a lead pencil

I then used my Prismacolor Pencils to colour in each segment that I had traced. Each segment has 4 different shades of pencil that was layered 3 times each.

I then used a black gel pen to colour in all the white area that was left. You could also use a fine paintbrush and black paint to do this. I also added some white gel pen accents to each coloured in section.

I get asked a lot about white gel pens. My favourite is the Uni-Ball Signo Broad White Gel Pen

The flourish chipboard is DA3327 Botanic Accents. I simply used a gold paint pen to colour it in

The title is from the pack DA1291 Mini Captions #2, and I used a hot pink chalk pen to colour it in

All of the chipboard and stencil used on this card can be found on the Dusty Attic website, https://dustyattic.com.au/

Well that's it for me again this time. I hope I've inspired you to look at your stencils in a different way.

Heather

Hello Dusty FANattics and welcome to the very first Mood Board challenge for the year!

Hope you had a magnificent Christmas/Holiday season and are looking forward to an amazing creative year ahead starting with your chance to win one of two $50 (AUD) credits to the Dusty Attic Online Store.

"You make me SMILE"

I chose this gorgeous paper that had all of the colourings from the new board and this photo of my beautiful grand daughter when she was littler.

First I cut a rectangle from the middle of the green backing paper to use a photo mat as well as an apricot piece that matches the paper.

Then cut the main patterned paper down to 11.5 x 11.5 to have a border around the edges which I have distressed and inked.

The Dress form and some of the Botanical mix I have sprayed white. The remaining Botanical mixes and Foliage clusters have been painted green with a darker green sponged on small portions to add depth.

The Flowers (#2) have been lightly painted with a pale peach colour then I have added some deeper orange in the centres and sponged edges.

The title has been painted with a pale peach colour then white sponged over the top.

It is super easy to enter the challenge, just add your take of the board into the comments section on the Dusty FANattics Facebook Page

Seasons Greetings - Pascale B - Christmas Decor

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with a Xmas home decor.

I covered the MDF base with 2 layers of white gesso, then I added a design with a stencil and white crackle paste.

While the paste was drying, I primed all the chipboard with white gesso as well as some resin elements.

I embossed the Berries #2 with Silver Moon Mistletoe EP: a transparent embossing powder with a greenish undertone. I embossed also the fruits of the Foliage #11 with a golden EP.

I glued all the chipboards before adding any color. When happy with the composition, I just add one color: Burnt Sienna.
When happy with the color, I highlight some details with gold wax. Then I used white wax to soften the transition between the brown ink and the white gesso.

To finish, I added some glitters.
