Shine Brightly - Mixed Media canvas - Pascale B

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with a new canvas.

First I primed the canvas with white gesso, then added a design with the Fosiilised Stencil and modeling paste. When the modeling paste was completely dry, I covered the whole canvas with clear and white crackle paste, I was careful to remove all excess of the crackle pastes to allow the design to show. I let it dry naturally to allow the crackle to appear.

I painted the canvas with coral and Prussian blue liquid acrylic paints when the pastes were dry.

I primed all the chipboards with white gesso. For the Floral Corners, I decided to use only copper, Firebird, and honey waxes.

I painted the Wildflowers #3 with the same colors of liquid acrylic paints I used for the background. For the Tea Leaves and the Mini Foliage #5, I used a combination of liquid acrylic paints and waxes.

I colored the flowers with diluted coral paint and distressed the edges with brown Distress ink.

To finish, I added some gold and copper glitters.

Hello Today - Heather Woodall

 Good morning

Today I've just done 1 card, but there was many hours in this card. As with a lot of my brighter more artsy projects, it has been inspired by techniques that I learnt from the lovely Tracy Scott

I started with some white cardstock and my Dusty Attic Stencil DA1318 Warped Flower Stencil. I laid the stencil on my card front then traced it with a lead pencil

I then used my Prismacolor Pencils to colour in each segment that I had traced. Each segment has 4 different shades of pencil that was layered 3 times each.

I then used a black gel pen to colour in all the white area that was left. You could also use a fine paintbrush and black paint to do this. I also added some white gel pen accents to each coloured in section.

I get asked a lot about white gel pens. My favourite is the Uni-Ball Signo Broad White Gel Pen

The flourish chipboard is DA3327 Botanic Accents. I simply used a gold paint pen to colour it in

The title is from the pack DA1291 Mini Captions #2, and I used a hot pink chalk pen to colour it in

All of the chipboard and stencil used on this card can be found on the Dusty Attic website, https://dustyattic.com.au/

Well that's it for me again this time. I hope I've inspired you to look at your stencils in a different way.

Sweet Memory -Judith Tijsen - Mood Board Inspiration

Hi there everyone,

The month is not over yet so you still have time to make an entry for the moodboard challenge
of the month of February at Dusty Attic.

For this layout this time I chose to use only the pink colours of the moodboard.

Don't you love the beautiful chipboard cherry blossoms.

I treated them only with just embossing powder.

The first layer completely with only white embossing powder and the second layer only in the center of the flower with pink embossing powder.

They match perfectly with the paper die-cut flowers.

Used Dusty Attic products:

DA1320 - Fan Stencil

You could win $50 AUD credits to the Dusty Attic online store. The only requirement is that you have Dusty Attic chipboard on your creation and enter your project on the Dusty FANattics Page

This is the moodboard of the month February.

Best Friends - Kerstin Filou

Hello creative friends!

Today a new layout which reminds me on a wonderful summer time at the beach.
We were often at the dog beach and all darlings were there totally enthusiastic and fully in their element.

some close up's

I have used some gorgeous new release dog chippies  to complete my natural embellishing of the layout.

One of my favourite techniques to painting chipboards is  to use the ombre effect.

I begun with a dark blue acrylic paint, then a middle blue and a very softly blue shades
The colours should be similar in strength to achieve the ombre look, apply the colours one after the other and blur with a wet brush.

A base coat with white acrylic paint to keep colors bold is always recommended

I also did a little dry brushing of white gesso over the top.

With a simple frame the layout gets a face and can be used as a new home decoration on the wall

Many thanks for your visit!

Happy crafting!

Timeless - Juliya Tirskaya

Hello dear friends!

Today i'm with a new project - Mixed Media Canvas "Timeless"

My work is about old houses. Beautiful old mansions, abandoned and forgotten. I just love to look at such houses, look at the windows, imagine how people used to live here.

I just adore the line of windows among the Dusty Attiс chipboard.
For this work, I took a beautiful carved window French Window Pane
And added curls and leaves  Swirly Flourish and Tea Leaves
I painted the chipboard with blue paint and until it dried, sprinkled the powder for embossing on top of the paint and baked it with a hair dryer for embossing.

Through the Lace Stencil, I applied a transparent 3D Gloss Gel. And when it dried, painted the surface with alcoholic ink.
