Reindeer Kisses - Adri Du Preez - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello everyone!

Welcome to the blog. Here is my layout inspired by the beautiful festive December mood board which features beautiful Dusty Attic chipboard pieces.

This is a photo of my precious son and daughter-in-law I took a few years ago during one of our photoshoots.

Here is the mood board.

and here is my layout.

All the chippies were first primed with a layer of white acrylic paint and then painted with Americana Acrylic paint.

I used the Oh My Heart ABC Set and Teeny Tiny ABC Set to create the title. I love the little laser-cut hearts on the letters. I painted the letters with Hauser Light Green and the one red "E" with Tuscan Red, and then lightly rubbed the letters with Platinum Stickles.  To the Reindeer word, I added glossy accents.

I lightly painted the Wordpl@y Festive Green and Hauser Light Green making sure I didn't cover the engraved words. The edges were dry brushed with Tuscan Red and white acrylic paint. How stunning are these Christmas labels?  The ho ho ho and Bali border were also painted with Tuscan Red.

I painted the stars with Sour Apple and Tuscan Red, and then lightly rubbed them with Platinum Stickles, and glossy accents.

The berries and mistletoe were painted with Tuscan Red and Hauser Light Green. The berries were covered with glossy accents.

I painted the Christmas Stockings with Tuscan Red and the Mini Scroll with white acrylic paint.

The final touches to this layout included beads, glitter, and splatters with diluted white gesso.

Joy to the World - Adri Du Preez

 Hello everyone!

Welcome to the blog today.

My November design team layout features beautiful Dusty Attic Christmas chipboard pieces.

This layout features my granddaughter Mila.

I love using Wordpl@y on my layouts.  They are one of my favourite additions to a layout.

All the chippies were first primed with a layer of white acrylic paint and then painted with Americana Acrylic paint.

The stars were painted with Tuscan Red, Green Lagoon, and Sour Apple.  Once dry I covered them with glossy accents and sprinkled them with Ranger Stickles Fine Glitter in Christmas Red and Star Dust.

The title was painted with Tuscan Red and the mini captions with Green Lagoon then I dry brushed the edges with white acrylic paint.

What a cute Gnome and so much fun to paint!  I painted the hat with Tuscan Red and the shirt with Green Lagoon.  For the dungaree, I used a Posca Pen in Light Green. I painted the little nose with Dusty Rose and the edges of the white beard were dry-brushed with Slate Grey.

I painted the Christmas trees with Tuscan Red, Sour Apple, and Green Lagoon.  For the dots on the Gnome's hat and the Christmas trees, I used a white Posca Pen.

I lightly painted the holly with Festive Green and Hauser Light Green making sure I didn't cover the veins of the hollies.  The edges were dry brushed with white acrylic paint. The berries were painted with Tuscan Red. Once dry I covered them with glossy accents and sprinkled them with Ranger Stickles Fine Glitter in Christmas Red.

These Christmas Berries and the Holly Wreath were treated in the same manner as the red stars and the hollies.

The final touches to this layout included pearls, glitter, and splatters with diluted white gesso.

Dream with your eyes wide open - Adri Du Preez

 Hello everyone!

Welcome to the blog today.

My October design team layout features beautiful Dusty Attic chipboard pieces.

This photo is of my sweet granddaughter when she was only two weeks old.

Here is my layout.

All the chippies were first primed with a layer of white acrylic paint and then painted with Americana Acrylic paint.

The beautiful Big Moon was also heat embossed with embossing powder.  I used Silver, Lindy's Groovy Granite, and Iced Enamels Relique Powder in Ivory.

I painted the title with Orchid {dream} and Pansy Lavender {with your eyes wide open} and
dry brushed with white acrylic paint.

The words from the It's a Girl set and Leaves #2 were heat embossed with white
embossing powder.

The Seedlings were painted with Mint Julep Green and dry brushed with white acrylic paint.
I snipped the foliage into pieces and tucked them into the flower clusters.  The Leaves #2 were heat embossed with white embossing powder.

The stars were painted with Orchid, Pansy Lavender, and Turquoise Blue and dry-brushed the edges with white acrylic paint. I then added Ranger Stickles in Platinum for a bit of shine. A few of the mini stars were glued onto the larger stars. I painted the Page Pebble with Orchid.

Awesome - Deb Stephens

Hi everyone! Have you enjoyed seeing all the wonderful creations this month by the Dusty Team? I know I have. But some days I just want to keep it simple and easy.

I didn't have any patterned paper on hand when I started the layout for these photos of my son with his Marvel Avengers Idol, Iron man. using a 12x12 black piece of cardstock and stencils DA1495 – cityscape and DA1763 – Starry Night
to start using texture paste and paint through for the background.

I then stamped some superhero themes speech bubbles and phrases around the page. Chipboard used was DA2858 Techno Circles- Small, DA2441 – stars #4 and sentiment DA0726- Anyone can be cool. These were embossed and filled with waxed crayon for contrast.
I was pleased with the end result, considering the limited paper options I had, proving you can complete a layout without having to buy out a shop (although, that is fun too right lol?)

Dusty Attic Retreat vibes - Deb Stephens

For those of you that have been to a Dusty Attic Retreat, you would know how much fun they are! The last one was in December 2022 and it was a Santa's Workshop Christmas theme with lots of costumes made and paraded. Funny photos were taken and lots of laughs needed to be remembered and what better way to do it then using some Dusty Attic Chipboard 49&Market Holiday Wishes range of papers and embellishments!

The layout comes together with some DA0932 Polaroid Frames and DA2454 Polaroid Frame Set #1 that were painted and then had Christmas Mini Sentiments stamped and embossed on them.
DA0666 Bookman ABC Set (Lowercase) and DA2826 Retreat vibes sentiment was painted and glossed, along with some stars from DA2441 Stars #4 set.
DA3163 Gingerbread houses small were also painted and waxed with white wax so that it filled the lasered areas of the chipboard. These were then embellished with mini peppermint and snowflake embellishments.
DA 3141 Holly #4 was painted and parts waxed and glossed as well. The layout was finished off with coloured mini glass pebbles and drops of glittery stickles.
Below is a snapshot of the Dusty Attic Chipboard used in this project. I hope it inspires you to get out your Christmas Photos and scrap them! Until next time Dusty Fanatics, take care!

#angel - Michelle Van Oudtshoorn

Well hello July!

And boy is it really cold here in New Zealand. We were having these balmy winter days and then all of a sudden we had a drop in temperature and winter arrived with a vengeance.

Of course when it's so cold outside, you don't need an excuse to stay indoors and scrapbook!

I took some inspiration off a card I saw on Facebook with die cut numbers in cardstock, and it gave an idea to create this layout  - knowing that I had some Dusty Attic chipboard numbers - DA2389 called "Number Jumble" - and that would work well. I also used some stars from DA2441 and postmarks from DA3150, loosened them from the sheet, and added these all onto double sided tape on my mixed media mat. Using a sponge dauber, I sponged the numbers, the stars and the postmarks with shades of yellow, orange, pink and green paint. Once dried I added clear Wink of Stellar to all the chipboard pieces (accept the title)
I used a Uniquely Creative range of papers - fussy cut the flowers, leaves and squirrel. I used two different papers, tearing the striped paper in half, inking the edges and adhering to the base page, and inking all around. I inked all the fussy cut pieces before adhering around my matted photo.
I layered the fussy cut elements adding the numbers and stars as I layered, and then also added the postmarks

I then added the title "#angel" from the DA1597 Hashtag sayings - painted with an orange tone and adding stickles to the title. I then covered the photo, splattered white paint over the layout and added coloured pearls to finish.
These are the products I have used
DA1597 (Hashtag sayings)
DA3150
DA2389
DA2441

Best wishes,
Michelle
