Wonder of the Sea - Lynette Jacobs

Lynette here, welcome to the blog today. I have the pleasure of sharing some inspiration for October.  My favourite place is the beach.  This photo documents a long walk on the beach and finding a precious pansy shell.  The shell is very delicate and fragile, so this page will be framed to protect the shell.  I used papers from the Penelope Dee Tidal Florals collection.

Products used:

Some close up details:
I decided that I wanted to let the photos and the pansy shell take center stage, so I kept the embellishing to the minimum.

I heat embossed the word chipboards.

The sand dollars and the sea grass was painted with acrylic paint.

The Pansy Shell takes center stage and to protect it this page will be framed.

I love the added texture of hand stitching on my pages.

The final touch was added by splattering some gold twinkling H2O in gold and adding a few enamel dots around the page.

Until next time.  Happy crafting.

What a View - Kerstin Filou

Welcome creative friends!

Today a new inspiration, it's a sea inspired frame. I have used a wooden frame as a base and added in the background some fabric leftovers, also remnants of an old favorite jeans

Suitable Maritime chipboards were primed with white gesso and afterwards coloured with silver acrylic paint. Anchor got an extra texture layer, where I used fine deco sand.

Today a new inspiration for you, it's a sea inspired canvas in mixed media style. based on the wonderful moodboard theme this month,

Love the monochrome colours, perfectly for vintage style.

I created on the backside of a canvas, used a maritime paper from La Blanche, a round piece was torn from the centre of the paper, awesome chipboards frame the old photo.

Beach Life - Lynette Jacobs

Hallo there.  Lynette here today, welcome to the blog.  I am sharing my October inspiration with you today.  I used a photo that was taken on our recent vacation in Plettenberg Bay.  Nature and specifically the beach soothes my soul.  Here is my page:

Chipboard used on this project:

My process and some close up details:
This Heidi Swapp Carefree paper was just the perfect back ground for this photo.

I used some of the weather icons for the top cluster.  I painted the sun and then heat embossed all the icons with clear embossing powder.

I painted all of my chipboard elements with a mix of yellows, whites and blues to compliment the photo and the background.  This clusters are 4 layers deep and chunky...the way I like it.

The layers from the bottom us, is driftwood, coral, sea weed and then the little seahorse...with a sprinkle of shells and starfish.

I painted the "BEACH"word to compliment the back ground and heat embossed the "life"word and layered it over the Beach word.  The quoted sentiment was heat embossed with clear embossing powder and then dry brushed with white gesso.

On this cluster I used the coral at the bottom and then added the seagull and the jellyfish over top...with a sprinkle of starfish and shells below

I love the way the colours of the chipboard compliment the photo and the back ground paper.

I hand stitched around the edges of the patterned paper and finally added some Nuvo Crystal drops, a few definitions and the date.  I love how the foiled elements shines.
