My card today features the NEW DARING DIAMONDS

I thought this sentiment was so perfect to use with the

March Sneak Peeks Finale and Anything Goes Challenge - Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!

  Today is our final day of Krafty Peeks for the March Release
 at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!

We are so excited to share a beautiful floral set 

by our newest artist (and Design Team Member) 

Michelle Houghton called...

WILDFLOWER WONDER!!

These gorgeous set is perfect for your Spring projects, 
and the sentiments are so wonderful and full of hope!

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not often comfortable with coloring 

flowers. But I fell in love with these beautiful images!  

I pulled out my watercolors and this is what I did with them.

I just kept imaging them kind of softly blowing in the breeze.

My colors were inspired by this background that's been 

laying on my craft desk for quite some time just waiting

for the perfect thing to go on it.  Truthfully, I know I'm

not the best at this watercoloring technique but the

process of doing this and the end result just makes 

my heart happy.  I love how it turned out and can't wait

to try other things with these beautiful flowers and 

uplifting sentiments.  I hope you like it too! 

Those pretty clear dots that look like raindrops are part of 

the March Add-On Kit (Shimmerz Embellishments).  Just put a 

drop of clear glue on the bottom and your good to go. Very easy.

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge #530 - FLOWERS

Happy weekend lovely friends and followers.

This weekend I get to be the hostess with the mostest

(mostest of what I haven't yet determined lol) for the Saturday

Challenge theme at KRAFTIN' KIMMIE STAMPS!

My favorite part of late spring/early summer is the 

beautiful flowers everywhere.  Flowers signify happiness
and renewal to me.  That is my inspiration 

for Challenge #530 - FLOWERS. 

My card features a couple different flower images from 

the so very pretty and sweet LOVE BUGS set.

I used one of my favorite KKS Stencils called 

Chubby Clouds for the background (w/Bubbly Blue ink).

This is colored with a combination of copic markers

and prisma color pencils.

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenges #464 - Flowers

Hello crafty friends - Happy Weekend!

The theme for this week's challenge at

KRAFTIN' KIMMIE CHALLENGES

is.... FLOWERS. 

You can interpret this however you wish...

as long is you include flowers.  You can add flowers 

to your creation, you can make a flower shaped creation,

you can use flowered papers on your creation, or of course

you can use flower images on your card, scrapbook page

3D or altered item.  We just wanna see some flowers

somewhere, somehow on your entry.

And of course, we especially LOVE it when you share 

your creations with us using Kraftin' Kimmie products!! 

My creation is a sympathy card for a friend.

The background was made using the NEW

Happy Hearts Stencil (just released last week) 

with Bubbly Blue hybrid ink.

The pretty blue flowers are from Buds and Blooms

(the green leaves were stamped with Mossy Meadow KKS ink).

The sentiment is from a retired KKS rubber stamp set.

Wonderful Wednesday at Kraftin' Kimmie Challenges - May 24th

The end of my work week is in sight 

and it's a long holiday weekend!

Today we have another WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY

what that means...the theme is ANYTHING GOES!

My card today features the NEW clear stamp set called 

BUGS and KISSES combined with some pretty 

flowers from BUDS and BLOOMS.  

I used a combo of copics, zig clean color markers

and distress inks to make this card.  I cut the sentiment 

apart (gasp!) so I could arrange it a little differently.

I'm pretty tickled with how it turned out and I 

absolutely ADORE these little bees!!

Hello friends and welcome back for DAY TWO of

Today we are featuring an absolutely beautiful stamp

with two wonderful sentiments by another new to us artist -

and our amazing design team member Jasmine Turandar!
It's called SUMMER AVIVA!

This sweet set features a beautiful main image with a
lovely summer dress that has lots of folds to color! And there are
also two fabulous coordinating sentiments to go with her!

Isn't she beautiful?! I think she's just amazing and really enjoyed
creating  this card to share with you today.

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenges #379 "Summer"

Hello wonderful crafty peeps!

It's the last Saturday of April already - wow!

Do you have any fun weekend plans?

It's supposed to be cold here so I made a big pot

of homemade vegetable beef soup. I'm not excited

about the cold - in fact I really am ready for the

warmer weather.  But the rain is making things green

and I do love homemade soup on a cold day :o).   

I have a card to share with you that I made for 

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenges #379 where the theme

this week is SUMMER!  Oh I am really looking 

forward to summer! Sunshine, flowers, popsicles,

time at the lake, warm weather, green grass, 

flip flops, and bbq time with family.  

 My card today features one of the beautiful lasses 

from  the KKS clear stamp set called Tweetie Birds.

I used lots of flowers on my card (and in the dsp) because 

summer to me means flowers, sunshine & birds singing!

4 Crafty Chicks Challenges {4CC #341} - Spring Fever with Sponging

Hello! Happy Thursday! 

This is my second week of guest designing for 

4 CRAFTY CHICK CHALLENGES! 

This week the theme challenge from Nance for 

4CC #341 is "Spring Fever with Sponging".

I woke up to about 2 inches of new snow today - bah!

Oh boy do I ever have spring fever! 

Can't wait to see the pretty flowers poking their

colorful faces out of the ground! 

Come on Spring!  I'm ready!

Here's my card to share with you for this challenge

I used a panel of cardstock (Stampin' Up!) that had 

the pattern already on it.  Then I used a sponge to rub 

different colored inks (also Stampin' Up!) around the panel 

to magically make the pattern appear.  I got a little heavy handed 

a time or two in spots - oops.  I also used sponge daubers to

get the spots of color in places.  The sentiment is one from 

 a set called "Sincere Thanks" by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.

 I finished the inside too with an extra piece of the panel

and a second sentiment from "Love Story Sentiments" 

also by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. 

So until spring actually shows up here I can

look at this and dream :o).

Catch the Bug Challenges - New Release Tuesday (Aug. 30th)

Hello sweet friends and followers!

Today is a bittersweet post for me

as it's my last official DT post for

CATCH THE BUG CHALLENGES.

I've had the pleasure of being on the Bugaboo Stamps 

design team for nearly a year and a half (total with 

guest designer spots) but lately life and work has 

been knocking me for a loop and I find it very hard 

to keep up with everything.  Something has to

give for a while so I've decided I need to step down 

from the team as I can't continue to give it my

best attention - even as much as I love being part 

of this amazing group. Thank you Jodie and 

crew for having me with you and for being so 

understanding and supportive of my decision. 

So...back to the fun part of this post

and that would be to show you

the fabulous NEW Release digital image

for this week featuring flowers and butterflies!

It's so beautiful!! 

This is colored with my copics but I also

want to try it with watercolors too. 

Go check out the creations from the other 

ladies and see what they've done with this 

image as well.  You'll be glad you did!

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #341 - Summer {Buds and Blooms & Butterfly Dreams}

Happy weekend crafty peeps! 

We have an exciting weekend planned. 

My first niece is getting married today!! 

So amazing and exciting and a little sad that 

she is already old enough to be married! 

Also my son got home last night for a week's visit 

so we will be cramming in as much fun as we can

over the next few days with him. 

Today a new Saturday challenge begins at 

KRAFTIN' KIMMIE challenges 

and the theme this week is  "SUMMER".

Oh how perfect is that?!  Our summer so far

has been very mild - especially for July.  

I made this card to share with you today using

the Buds and Blooms and Butterfly Dreams 

clear stamp sets - take a look:

Once again I used the spotlighting technique

by only coloring some portion of the images 

so they really stand out.  Isn't this color 

combo just lovely?  It sure feels summery to me!

Kraftin' Kimmie Wonderful Wednesday - July 20th {Buds and Blooms}

Hello and happy Wednesday friends!

I'm back again today with a card to share

with you for the newest Wonderful Wednesday

challenge at KRAFTIN' KIMMIE Challenges.

The theme, as it always is on Wednesday, is

ANYTHING GOES!   Yahoo!!

My card today uses some water coloring 

and velum flowers - take a look: 

I started by water coloring with distress inks on my 

die cut panel and then stamping the little dots randomly

around the panel and adding a bit more water color. 

Then I stamped and embossed the flowers and leaves 

in white from Buds and Blooms and colored the back

side of them with my copic markers before fussy-cutting them.  

I was going for a soft effect but if you wanted more of a stained 

glass type look you would want to go with your darkest 

marker in the color family as the vellum really lightens 

up the colors when done this way.  I think I used V25  

on my flowers and G24 on the leaves.

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenges #336 - Flowers

Hello everyone! Welcome to the weekend and another

fun theme challenge at KRAFTIN' KIMMIE!

Our hostess this week is Krafty Girl Alexis 

and her challenge theme for us is...FLOWERS!

The criteria are pretty easy for this one  - as long as we can see flowers 

somewhere on your creation you are qualified to link up your entry

(you can have flowers on the paper, on ribbon, in or on the image, 

or added flowers as an embellishment).  Easy peasy right?!

I used two beautiful summery stamps on my card today

Butterfly Dreams and Buds and Blooms 

I began by masking the flowers and heat embossing the 

stamped images on a panel of watercolor paper and

then directly dabbing my mini distress ink pads 

on the stamped/embossed images (using the corners of

the pads and dotting within the image with large and small

dabs - trying not to completely fill in the image).  

Then I spritzed the panel with water to let the colors

blend a little but the watercolor paper I used is very

heavily textured and the colors didn't spread out as much

as I anticipated that they would so I used a brush

and added more water to blend out the inks some more.

As a last touch I added some pretty sequins. 

Do you supposed I get bonus points for having the 

word "Flowers" on my card? :o)  

I'm really happy with how it turned out!  Hope you like it too!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Monday everyone, hope you've

had a good start to your week! 

Today I'm sharing a Mother's Day card

that I made for my mom.  

I recently got some more Zig markers from Simon Says Stamp

and was dying to play with them.  So... I grabbed a stamp set

from Close to My Heart and did some stamping, heat embossing 

and coloring with them.  I love how these markers are so vibrant 

yet create such a cool watercolor effect at the same time. 

I find them pretty easy to use but I need a bit more practice 

to get the variation and depth in the colors.

I had some of these lovely flowers laying on my craft desk 

(from the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps set called "Buds & Blooms")

that I had left over from a previous water coloring play. 

So, I decided to use one with these great patterned papers. 

I do love how it turned out! Honestly one of the quickest cards

I've ever made and aren't the colors yummy?! Perfect for spring!
