Happy Halloween - Too Cute to Spook!

Happy Halloween friends!
Sounds like we will have a nice warm evening here
for the trick-or-treaters.
That doesn't happen too often in Montana.
It will be nice to see the costumes instead of just coats :o)

I have a card to share with you today that I made
for my "Bootiful" daughter - take a look:
Digital image by Lacy Sunshine - "Monster Boo"

I asked her what her favorite Halloween character
or image is and she said "monsters".
So I looked in my digi files and found this adorable
image by Lacy Sunshine that is just perfect for her.
I used some of my new Doodlebug papers (my favorite line)
that looks a bit like all the doors from the movie "Monsters Inc."
Then added the paper with the eyes and some more google eyes.
She LOVED how it turned out and it  made me very happy!

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Crafty Catz Challenge #253 - Anything Goes
Divas by Design - Anything Goes
4 Crafty Chicks - Crazy Egg (Anything Goes)
Fusion Card Challenge - Photo (Halloween)

Inkspiration  Challenge #68 - Photo (eyes and colors)

Lacy Sunshine Challenge #45 - Include a Hat

Happy Blooming Birthday

Hello friends - so nice of you to stop by to visit me today!
Here in Montana we are in the heat of summer - it was a toasty 92 degrees today.
We celebrated my sweet niece's 21st birthday in the park.
Thank goodness for a light breeze now and then - or I just might have melted.

Here's the card I made for her:
Digital image by Lacy Sunshine Flowerpot Pretty "Sunny"

I had colored this darling image a while back but didn't get a chance to
finish a card until now. Thank goodness the image was already
completed as it took me a very long time to get the rest of the card together
thanks to only having one thumb to use.  My Big Shot, dies and punches are my
best friends right now as I can't use scissors with my left hand. But..I have figured out
how to use my Stamp-ma-Jig to help keep my left hand steady when I stamp.
I have found myself to be very resourceful these past couple of weeks.
You just can't keep an addicted stamper down - he he.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Come and Get It Challenges - It's all about Dies (use at least one - I used 2)
The Corrosive Challenge Blog Challenge #205 Birthdays
Digi Galore - Anything Goes (must use a digital image)
Divas By Design - Anything Goes
4 Crafty Chicks - Challenge #205 Anything Goes
Lacy Sunshine Challenge #39 Summer
Inky Impressions Challenges IIC#170 - Anything Goes

That's all for me today.  Need to finish laundry so I have clothes for work next week.
Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D

Christmas in June for MTTC #252 and 52CCT June Stash Challenge (Charms)

Hello friends and followers - happy weekend to you all!
It's not often that my DT challenges line up at the same time - but this week they did.
For both challenges it's Christmas in June.  Here's the scoop...
At 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown (52CCT), our hostess Louise has a stash challenge
for us and she wants us to use charms on our Christmas cards.
Over at My Time to Craft (MTTC) Challenges it's my turn to be the hostess
and MTTC Challenge #252 is Christmas in June.

Here's my DT card for both of the challenges:
Digital image by Lacy Sunshine - Flower Pot Pretties "Holly"

I added lots of glitter and shimmer this time.  It's hard to see in the photo
but there is green and red Stickles glitter on the holly leaves in the image.
I also used silver Stickles and Liquid Pearls in lavendar on the ornament.
The holly dies, sentiment ticket and silver ribbon and charm are all from my stash.
The Christmas papers are also from a couple years ago.
I'm feeling great about using up so much of my extra stuff to make this card :o)

Isn't this little lady a cutie?  She is from Lacy Sunshine's Flower Pot Pretties group.
There is a fun challenge going on over on the Lacy Sunshine Facebook Group
called SAVE THE FLOWER POT PRETTIES.  This is my first entry in that challenge.

I am also entering this card in these other great challenges:
The Outlawz Challenges - Friday's Coloring Challenges - Twist of Christmas
Christmas Card Challenge #30 - Photo Inspiration (mine was the ornaments)
Merry Monday #114 - Use sparkle, shimmer or shine
The Sketchy Challenges #75 Hilde's Sketch (see below)

Penny's Paper-Crafting Challenge #183 - Embossing heat or dry

I hope that  you will decide to join us at both 52CCT and MTTC for these
June Christmas challenges.  The 52CCT Stash challenge ends Friday, July 4th.
The MTTC Challenge #252 is a fortnight challenge which will run for 2 weeks.
Please go visit my lovely DT team mates at both of these challenges.
They have prepared some amazing Christmas creations to share with and inspire you.
Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D

Hello friends! A very quick post for me tonight just to share a card I put together
to enter in the Lacy Sunshine Facebook Challenge

Tiny Evening Puff HobbGobbi by Heather Valentin.
Take a look please:

Such a fun image as this called for bright, happy colors - I think :o)
Did you notice her pretty pink finger and toenails.
Must have just been to the beauty parlour (that's what my husband calls it
when we take our shitzu's to the groomer - lol).

I used the sketch from MOJO Monday #351 for this card.

I'm also entering this card in these other challenges:

Something PINK with Sprinkles - Non-traditional hair color

Hello friends, so happy you've stopped by to visit me.
Hope each of you is having a terrific and blessed day.
Today I have a card to share with you that I made to enter in the Lacy Sunshine Challenge Blog where the challenge is to use Goth or Non-Traditional Hair Color on your creation.
Here's my card - take a little looky-see:
Digital image by Lacy Sunshine "Cupcake Sticky Wings"

I recently purchased a subscription to the BRAND NEW Lacy Sunshine Crafting magazine.
In this issue there were two different sections on non-traditional hair colors.
I didn't have the exact copic colors noted for my pink hair, but it turned out pretty close.
My daughter chose the color combo - isn't it fun?!

I am also entering this card in the following challenges:
Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes
Sister Act Challenges #61 - Anything Goes

Enjoying a very rainy spring day here.  I can just image my trees, bushes and flowers
smiling as they drink in the fresh rainwater.  A happy thought :o).

Til next time friends...hugs and happy crafting! D

52CCT - June 2014 Color Challenge

Hello dear friends and followers - happy weekend!
Welcome to my two newest followers - so glad to have you share my creative journey .
I hope I inspire you from time to time!

It's time for another weekly challenge at 52CCT.  This time its a color challenge.
Take a look at what our June hostess, Louise has chosen for us to play with:
Quite a traditional color scheme for your Christmas cards.
As a twist we would like you to add a metallic of choice to your project
(gold, silver, copper, antique or shiny, we don't mind) and don't forget to keep it Christmas!

We have a guest designer joining in the fun this month at 52CCT.
Please help us welcome Marie from NJ Stamping Queen!

So, without further chit-chat, I'll get right to sharing my DT card with you:
Digital image by Lacy Sunshine - "Bubbles Jolly Elf"

Hopefully you can see that the frame around the image is a brushed metallic gold.
I thought it was fun to make it look like a portrait on the wall.
Maybe it would be on Santa's Top Elf of the month wall - lol!

My other lovely DT pals at 52CCT have made some amazing cards
using this terrific  traditional Christmas color scheme. Please go visit them and say "hi".
I hope that you will join us this week - I can't wait to see what you make!

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Jingle Belles - Red & Green & Christmas All Over
Crafting from the Heart - Challenge #22 - Anything Goes

Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D

Lacy Sunshine Ebony Mer {Just for Your}

Hello friends and followers, so glad you've stopped in to visit me today!
I made this card for the Lacy Sunshine Facebook Fan Group challenge
using the digital image called "Ebony Mer" which I received for free for being
part of the fan group and participating in the challenge.

Take a look please:

Isn't she a lovely image? I got brave and tried something new and a bit out of my
comfort zone on this card - I colored her face blue.
Eek - I gotta tell you, I wasn't sure if it was a good decision or not
at first. But the more I look at it, the more I like it :o)
This is how I always imagined a mermaid would look.
Well, maybe a bit more sparkly - but still as blue.

I also tried frantage but had a bit of a disaster with it.
I think I'll be picking up frontage particles for awhile - quite comical really.
Did manage to get some of the stuff on the card - but it sure wasn't how I planned for it to look.
Guess I'll be googling for you-tube videos on how to use the stuff - lol.

Ahhh... the creative process is somethings not what we expect and yet
we end up with a great project if we just embrace it.

I'm also entering this card in the following challenges:
(I used two dies and one punch on this card)

Thanks so much for visiting me today! Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D

F is for Friend

Hello dear friends and followers!  A quick post today to share a card I made using a Lacy Sunshine digital image that I got for free from the wonderful Heather - just for playing along in her Facebook contest at Lacy Sunshine Crafting and Design Group (there is a tab and link to this on the Lacy Sunshine Challenge Blog site).  Here's my card using "Mayde's Puppy Bathtime" - hope you like it!

I love this image because it reminds me of my little doggies. One of them especially loves to dig in the yard and often comes into the house with a very dirty face and paws.  It drives me crazy I tell ya', especially since they are mostly white - or should be if they aren't diggin'.  But... then they look at me with those big dark eyes and suddenly it's hard to remember why I'm irritated at their dirty faces.
They are just so stinkin' cute and such great cuddly company.

Anyway...as I mentioned, a shorter post today as I need to get my taxes done.  I've been putting off this task as long as I possibly can, but am now feeling like I better "get em done".
Oh..and go grocery shopping, visit my Grandma and maybe give the dogs a bath too :o)

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
The Paper Players #188 - sketch

Lacy Sunshine Challenge Blog - #49 "anything goes"
Sister Act Card Challenge #50 - Anything Goes
Crafty Girls Challenges - Challenge #14 "Anything Goes"
Digi Galore - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me today - I'm sure glad that you did!
Til next time friends...hugs and happy crafting!D

You're so Sweet...Bashful Buttons Boo

Hello lovely followers - happy, happy weekend to you!  I have a sweet card to share with you today that I made using a digital image I got for free from Lacy Sunshine.  Heather gave her Facebook fans and members a special deal to get one of two very different images for free to use. She called them her "dark side"- Amelia and  "light side" - Bashful Buttons Boo, images.  I absolutely couldn't resist this darling Bashful Buttons Boo image as she reminded me of my own sweet daughter many years ago. So I choose the light side :o)

How perfect is this paper with the image?  I guess that there are some definite advantages to being a DSP paper hoarder from time to time (that is if you are willing to cut it up - lol).  From time to time I take all my little scraps that really would be useful on a card (but I just can't seem to throw away) and punch out (or die cut) a bunch of small shapes to keep for future use - such as flowers, hearts, stars, small circles, snowflakes, butterflies, and buttons. Yep...buttons. And I used several of those on this card today (yay me -  using up some bits and pieces!) :o).

I might have mentioned that I am learning to be better at coloring skin and hair on my digital images.  Still not an expert by any means but I think I'm getting better all the time.

I am entering this card in the following challenges (in addition to posting to the Lacy Sunshine gallery).
Lacy Sunshine's Challenge 28 - Use Spring Colors
Alphabet Challenge Blog - B for Buttons and Bows
House of Cards - Cute/Fun & Add a Button (I have several paper buttons)
and
Sweet Sunday Sketch #209 (oops - missed the deadline on this one, but it's a great sketch).
Looking forward to a weekend of catching up on all the things I didn't get done during the week.  I know that sounds really odd - but I like order and neatness and right now chaos is reigning in my home and life, so I need to take charge.  Not sure if I'll have much time to craft (big sad face) - but I'll feel much better when order is restored.  Hope you have a wonderful weekend!  Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me today.  Til next time...hugs and happy crafting! D
