Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - October NEW Release Peeks Day TWO - Evangeline Angel

Hello hello! Welcome back for DAY TWO
of the OCTOBER NEW RELEASE sneak peeks

Wasn't yesterday fantastic?  Well if you liked that
stamp set you are sure to love this one just as much.
Here's our second angel...EVANGELINE ANGEL!
This set was the Super Secret Krafty Klub stamp set that was
included in the Khristmas Kard Kit! The lucky crafters who preordered
it already have it in their inky little fingers and you'll get to see their
creations today because they are our fabulous GUESTS!

I'm absolutely in heaven because I LOVE angels!
This fun new stamp set has the large main image and three sentiments!

I really enjoyed coloring this image with my copics.

Once again I used the October KKS sketch for inspiration and
my layout.  I love to use sketches because it lets me focus on
things other than than design (which sometimes can keep me
wrapped up way too long in finishing a card).

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Make sure you check out the links below to see the
fantastic creations from the October guests and Krafty Krew.
One winner will be chosen from EACH DAY of the peeks this
week just for leaving a comment! Nice!

Oh and hey...don't miss this news too...
Kimmie is doing a GIVEAWAY of the ENTIRE release
on the Krafty Friends facebook page!  If you haven't joined this
awesome FB group yet now's a wonderful time to do so. It's the best

Oh Christmas Tree...MTTC272

Hello friends and followers,
and a special hello to my newest follower Linda.

Today I have a card to share with you
for the last challenge of 2014 at My Time to Craft (MTTC).
Then we will take a small break and be back for the new year.
MTTC #272 is "Christmas Tree".
We'd like to see your beautiful creations
with the focus on a Christmas tree.

Here's my DT card:

This year my Christmas tree has a bunch of
large burlap poinsettias in tan and sparkly red
and sprigs of berries poked through the branches
here and there.  Only a few rustic ornaments
(reindeer and and owl at the top).  My daughter and I love it.
But...my son came home for Christmas break
and said "Hey, where are all of our handmade
ornaments?" "This isn't very fun and festive".
Oh brother! Guess you can't please 'em all :o)

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
 MOJO Monday Sketch #376
and

My lovely DT pals at MTTC have also made some
gorgeous Christmas Tree creations to share with you.
Please go visit them as well and then I hope
you decide to make one more card to share with
us this year.

Til next time friends...hugs and merry crafting! D

52CCT - Pick a Previous Sketch

Hello dear friends and followers!
I went to work today after eating so much food on Thanksgiving
that I still felt like I was in a bit of a turkey induced stupor.
Why or why do we do that to ourselves?
I guess I shouldn't say "we" and really
own up to the fact that it's probably just me.
Must be those stretchy pants I wear
makes me think I can eat much more
than I really should.
That saying "Gobble til you Wobble"
definitely fit me yesterday :o)

Well since it is the very last Saturday of November
we have the Pick a Previous challenge
for you.  This time we'd like you to
Pick A Previous Sketch

You can use any past sketch to make your
lovely Christmas card.  There is a tab at the
top of the challenge blog with all the previous sketches
for you to choose from.
Pick any one that catches your creative fancy,
and just let us know which one you used.

For my DT card I used a sketch from April 2014

Here's my card:

This one will be easy to mail as I left
it free of all embellishments (gasp!).
I kind of like the simple look of it.
Hope you do too.

Please go check out the beautiful
creations made by my lovely DT pals
at 52CCT this week.  I hope  you are
so inspired that you just have to go
make a card and join the challenge.

Next month we will have a special sponsor for
our December challenges.  Make sure you check back
then too to see who it is and hopefully join the fun.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenge #123 Holiday

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me.
Til next time...hugs and merry crafting! D

Metallic Christmas Tree for 52CCT Color Challenge #12

Hello friends!  Today I am both nervous and excited to share the card I have made for the 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown Color Challenge #12 (see above).  You know how sometimes an idea pops into your head and just won't go away??? Well my card today is a result of one of those occurrences.  When I saw what our challenge was for this week at 52CCT I just couldn't get the idea of gears out of my head - and then I thought of making a Christmas tree with them somehow.  Before I show you this card I want to say that the reason I'm nervous to share this with you is because it is completely different from anything I've done yet and it is an unusual take on a Christmas card. I'm excited though because I really stretched myself creatively and I kind of like how it turned out.  Well... enough suspense - please be kind:
I apologize for the very poor picture. The background behind the tree is white but it doesn't look like it. I tried several different ways to get the photo better but it has too much shine from the blast of silver shimmer mist spray that I used (more than I had intended originally to put on).  Here are a couple different views that help the sentiment and cogs show up better:

I embossed the sentiment in Pewter.  As I mentioned, I gave the overall card a very good dose of silver shimmer spray.  Initially I was going for a totally masculine feel but then I just couldn't resist adding the rhinestones inside the smaller cogs/gears (whatever the proper term is for those "deally bobs" - a true gear head I am not -lol).  I used brushed silver and gold cardstock for the punched shapes. The overall card size is 5 x 7.  Oh, and here is the inside ( I used my new metallic silver marker and randomly squiggled a border around the inside).  I allowed myself to not try to be perfect in how I put this on (boy was I really feeling my oats this day - must have been the lack of sleep) ;o)
So there you  have it! Hope I've inspired you to try something new with a metallic finish or image.  At the very least I hope you will go check out the other samples from our fabulous DT at 52CCT and decide to make and share your own creation with us this week.  Til next week... hugs and happy crafting!!

"Oh Christmas Tree" for 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown Theme Challenge #8 and My Time to Craft Challenge #185 - Christmas (in August)

Hello to all my blog friends.  Hope you are having a most excellent Saturday!  The challenge for this week at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown  is a Theme Challenge.  We would like to see  your creations that depict the title, line or verse from any Christmas Carol or Hymn.  If possible name it in your blog post too.  My card uses the "Oh Christmas Tree" verses (see below).
I had this great DSP from Stampin Up! (now retired) that already had the words to the song on it -here's a close up so you can see it a little better:
Based on the song, I decided to make a Christmas Tree the focus of my card.  I was trying to keep it kind of vintage or victorian but I just could resist adding some bling to it.  After all, what kind of Christmas tree doesn't have some bling on it? As my daughter would say... "I know - right?"  Our tree is usually covered with handmade ornaments that the kids have made through the years or special ornaments that we have received as gifts, or ornaments that signify special events in our lives (or our favorite things). Our tree is a reflection of each of us individually, and us as a family.  I love to leave the lights on for a while after everyone else has gone on to bed, and the house is quiet, and just stare at it for awhile.  Its a nice time to relax and reflect on our blessings.

I am also entering this card in the My Time to Craft Challenge 185 - Christmas in August - can't pass that up since I love to make Christmas Cards!  Lots of great inspiration there too.

So how about it - are your ready to show us your Christmas song card creation??  Hop on over to the 52CCT challenge blog and see the wonderful inspiration that the rest of the DT has prepared for you.  I'll bet you find yourself singing some of the tunes (or at least humming them)!  We love to see your wonderful works of art each week so hope you can join us.

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me today!  I'm sure glad that you did!  Til next time - Hugs!!

Details and Supplies:  DSP (SU) Deck the Halls.  Ribbon (SU) Very Vanilla Seam binding and 5/8" Crochet trim - Victoria.  The tree is made using the HOLIDAY letterpress printing plate and my Big Shot machine.  I added lots of clear rhinestones and colored some of them green with a Sharpie.  I sponged the edges of the tree with Ranger Distressing Ink in Iced Spruce.

Lollipop Crafts Challenge #85 {Monochromatic} and Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge {photo inspiration}

Hello friends!   You know those 10 minute or less cards that you see in the card magazines?  Well this could easily be one of them as this card took me about 8 minutes to put together.  I used the five little trees across the mantle in the inspiration photo from the Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge as the inspiration for my card.
Since the colors were mostly white and green, I decided to just go with that and use Always Artichoke to make a monochromatic card.  I am also entering this card in the Lollipop Crafts Challenge #85 - Monochromatic.

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit - I'm sure glad that you did!  Hope you liked this card - I really enjoyed making it to share with you.  Til next time - Hugs!

Details and supplies (all from Stampin Up!):  Finished card size is 6 3/4" by 3 3/4".  I used a piece of left over glossy white cardstock to stamp my trees on and then matted with a piece of Always Artichoke cardstock before adhereing to the whisper white card base.  The trees are from a retired set called Contemporary Christmas.  The sentiment is from the Curly Cute stamp set.
