Happy New Year!

First one down for the count... Night, night sweet Cocoa Bean.

The second, following shortly after. He wanted to watch "choo-choo" with his "blank blank" and "jew" (juice). Night Digs.

Connor and Dad playing Xbox, but are currently playing Chess and listening to an awesome playlist.Sean realized I was taking pictures.

Me sitting by the Christmas tree and enjoying the lights in the darkAnd a titch on the bored side.

Happy New Year everyone! We wish you the very best this year, and hope that every wish you have will come to you. Happy 2010! Wowee how time flies!

Maybe this year I'll remember my age.. Sean had to remind me of my real age a few times, I was thinking I was a year younger that I am all year. Come on 35 bring it on!

Christmas Fun

Everyone had a great Christmas. Time is going by so quickly anymore that we didn't do all that I'd like to do with our kids this Christmas season. We did make it to Thanksgiving Point to see the lights, while driving through Jack was saying "WOW" the entire time, he does that every time we drive by a house that has lots of lights, it always makes me laugh.

We were able to go to Connor's Christmas sing at his school. He spotted us in the crowd when he walked onto the stage and sang right to us the whole time. He did a great job! He's the one looking right at the camera, what a cutie pie!

I took these pictures after church the Sunday before Christmas, it's difficult getting multiple children to work with me. I have lots to learn. It's a good think I got Photoshop Elements for Christmas. I've yet to load it on the computer, I have lots of reading to do first in the Photoshop for Dummies book.

Christmas morning was exciting 5:30 am came pretty early when the boys woke up. We let Chloe sleep, as she probably wouldn't appreciate being up opening presents as much as the boys. Connor was really excited to get the microscope that he's been asking and asking for. Connor loves science and discovering things, we love that about him. Jackson was so happy to get a Thomas the Train set, he was dancing as we were helping him open the wrapping. We were able to stay home all day and play!We had a great day.

Jackson loved Sean's mini remote control car, he took it over right when he saw what it does. He tries to get every car he has to drive with a remote, darn those cars just don't cooperate!
Connor is showing Grandpa Drew his cool new microscope. Grandpa was telling him how he still has the one he got when he was a little boy like him.

Cookies

Jackson got the cooling rack out of the cupboard the other night and gave it to Sean and said "cookies". He knows who makes cookies in this house, and knows how to get what he wants. Sean said "how can I say no to that?" I was glad that Jack knows how to get what he wants.

Eight is GREAT!!

Connor is 8 today! It's hard to believe that our little man is growing up so quickly. Today was his first day of cub scouts. He was so excited to go he could hardly wait. Sean is out of town for some training so he helped him get ready on skype, I'm glad that he did because I had no idea how to put on the kerchief thinger. I'm glad that he was excited for scouts because we bribed him with money to not have a party again this year and I was feeling a little guilty, but he had something fun to look forward to after all. He said that this is the best birthday EVER! He says that every year, and I'm glad that he thinks so.

Connor you are such an amazing boy, we love you so much and are so glad that you are our son!
Eight things that we love about you;
1. Your caring nature.
2. You are hilarious and keep us laughing.
3. You play video games with dad so mom doesn't have to.
4. You are a great big brother.
5. You always just go with the flow and have a great time no matter what you are doing.
6. You like to do outdoorsy stuff with us and are really good at them.
7. Your smile.
8. Your hugs and kisses.

Love you Connor, Happy 8th Birthday!

Bo-lo-lo

-From Sean
So, I went to Brigham City the other day on a search warrant, and ate lunch at Teri's favorite restaurant Maddox. Of course, being the sensitive husband that I am, I neglected to bring anything home to Teri........My bad.

To redeem myself (get out of doghouse) I wisely chose to take the family to Maddox on Saturday.

To set the scene, the family Drew arrived just beating the lunch rush and triumphantly posed in front of the huge 60's Vegas style sign which somehow denotes freshly slaughtered meat, and the best dinner rolls ever.

We entered into the building, me carrying Chloe in her car seat and Jackson in tow. We were then escorted through a maze of tables and rooms by our lovely hostess to the "Buffalo Room."

Now me being the trained observer that I am, realized Jack had suddenly developed some strong trepidation in the room. The only other table had a Norman Rockwell-esque Grandma and Grandpa, so I figured it was just another one of Jackson's maniacal two year old traits.

The hostess put a car seat carrier next to our table, where Chloe was secured. The Jackson proceeded to climb into my lap, clutching any article of clothing and chest hair like a baby Sasquatch facing discovery by armed rednecks.

Unable or unwilling to pry Jack from my chest hair, I allowed him to sit on my lap while we looked over the menu. After deciding on our delicious sustenance, I noticed Jack was staring above me at something.

I was about to ask him what he was looking at when he pointed one little finger above my head and said "Stuck!"

I then finally looked up, and realized what he was concerned about.

A HUGE, I mean HUGE Buffalo head was mounted on the wall above the table. Jack had apparently thought this gigantic, hairy, horned beast was stuck in the wall and was anticipating the imminent demise of his oblivious family members!

I of course stated the obvious saying "That is a Buffalo, Jack." Jack replied "Bo-lo-lo?" Yes, that is a Bo-lo-lo Jack.

Not completely believing me, Jack slowly released his death grip on me and started looking through the window, trying to see where the rest of the Bo-lo-lo was.

Jack then pointed out the other Bo-lo-lo's in the room, other stuffed heads, photos, carvings etc.

A few minutes later Jack was back to being his normal self, rolling around on the floor under Chloe, attempting to push open the emergency exit and making eating a full contact sport.

All in all a very good day. We then went to the Hill Air Force Base Museum and allowed Jack to run around and point out all the fascinating shiny surfaces without a care in the world, and without the fear of Bo-lo-lo's being stuck in the wall.

Of course, throughout the entire day our other son, "Connor the Magnificent" was his normal pleasant self. I really hope he rubs off on Jackson, but hey...Variety is the spice of life right?

Halloween

We had a great Halloween! On Friday we went to Connor's school for the costume parade, it was fun to see all of the cute kids so excited about Halloween. Of course I forgot my camera, but it was just fine. I took some crappy pictures with my phone maybe I'll download those someday??? Halloween we watched our favorite series all day "Ghost Hunters" then went to the grandparents houses to trick or treat there, which is the only trick or treating Jackson would do, he was too excited to hand out the candy to all the kids that came to our house.

Connor was a Mad Scientist for school and the first part of Halloween, then dribbled oreo shake down his front and it wasn't done washing when he went trick or treating with his friends, so we quickly threw together his army guy costume. He had fun going around our neighborhood with his friends.

Jack wouldn't wear his spidey mask, he only put it on for Grandma and Grandpa Drew for a min to take a picture. The first few days after we got the costume he didn't want to take it off. I guess he got his fill.

Chloe was Tiggerette, I sewed a flower by the ear so she looked like a girl, she was very warm though!

Harry

In Sept. Connor brought this home from school. He was really disappointed because his "Harry" only had one hair! Picking him up from school I'd seen other kids bringing home their "Harry's" with lots of "hair" (grass) coming out the top of the cup. I could see why he was a little bummed out. Later I was looking through his homework folder and found this, I'll translate: It smells like my poop. It has one piece of grass. It looks like a baby.
Poor kid, he was really mad at his "Harry"! I was laughing so hard and took it to Sean to show him and read him what Connor wrote, I caught a whiff of Harry and he really did smell like poop, yuck! The last picture is Harry's progress. He's doing much better and I haven't noticed him smelling like poop anymore!

A Conversation of Sean and Connor's yesterday

It's been a really long time since I've blogged! I have a bunch of pictures on the camera that I need to download and blog about, but it's my usual problem of not downloading them.. Yeah, I'll get right on that.

I just happened to have the computer on and Sean was telling me a conversation he had with Connor yesterday that I thought was funny.

Connor: I really don't like the show "Dirty Jobs".

Sean: Then you better get good grades.

Connor: What does that have to do with it?

Sean: If you don't get good grades and go to college you'll have a dirty job.

Connor: Did you get good grades?

Sean: Yes, that's why I don't have a dirty job.

Connor: What are good grades?

Sean: A's and B's.

Connor: What about C's?

Sean: Those are average.

Connor: What about F's?

Sean: Then you get to work dirty jobs.

my thoughts: hmmm.. there is something to that... I got bad grades, and I have a dirty job!

Jackson's 2!

I can't believe he's 2 already, how time flies! Jackson is such a fun little guy, he makes us laugh even when we are yelling at him. I think he came into this world with his huge personality knowing he's going to be a middle child. We call him a turd most of the time, but we really love him and can't imagine not having him in our family.
We love you Jack! (The picture was the 3rd time blowing out the candles, he loved it.)

Chloe's home

-From Sean

Here is Chloe after a bit of sprucing up.

Needless to say, Teri has been kind of busy lately and not really getting too much sleep.

I saw this picture of our new family addition, and wanted to share it.

Thanks to everyone for the yummy food and gifts you have brought over, and for stopping in just to give Chloe her first of many hugs.

I'll bother Teri to post something soon.

SHE'S HERE!!!

-From Sean
Teri was in labor for just three hours, and with one big push, Chloe made her grand entrance.

Our dear cousin Krista was our nurse, she made the whole experience so wonderful. She adjusted her schedule to make sure she could help. We owe you one Krista!

Teri and Chloe are doing fine and resting comfortably. We are still trying to adjust to the idea of a little girl in our midst, after so much time with the boys.

This morning, Jackson was looking at a picture of Chloe on my phone. Jack pointed at the picture, said "Baby" and pressed the phone to his cheek in a hug.

Connor is so excited, and just keeps saying "I can't believe I have a baby sister!"

The girls will be coming home tomorrow morning, which I 'm sure will bring a whole new feeling to the man cave Connor, Jack and I have built. Already the pink and lace accents are making their not so subtle appearance.

Welcome to the family Chloe!

Tuesday, July 21, 2009

It looks like it will be afternoon before I go in, though I was certainly awake at 4 hoping for that phone call. They said that they have a full floor right now and 3 people ahead of me to call in. I've always gone into labor and haven't had to do this before, it's kind of weird. Sean's home and my mother in law is here, we are ready!

T Minus One and Counting

I can hardly believe that I've made it. This has been a really long pregnancy. I don't know that it's any longer than the other three, but it's been LONG. I go to the hospital in the morning to get induced. I'm really surprised that I haven't gone into labor on my own yet. Today I've been doing things to get ready for this event, moping, washing everyone's bedding, we went to Lowes so Sean could paint our front door (which I really like, way to go sweetie!). I've been having lots of contractions while I've been up doing things, especially making bunk beds, holy moly it's difficult to do, esp. pregnant. I'm super glad that I've made it. I ate my last dinner ever being pregnant, I'll never have that experience again, and I'm totally fine with it. Labor and Delivery called me about the schedule and they are really busy tomorrow so she asked how quickly I could be there after they call, I told her 10-15 min, she said they will probably call me first, HIP HIP HOORAY!!! They could call as early as 4am. So I'm off to pack a bag. I can't wait to post a picture of our new little baby.

By they way, Connor is doing lots better. He's getting his appetite back. His eye is still quite light sensitive, but he ventured outside today, so I'll chalk that up to doing lots better. He hasn't liked "being sick" at all, so hopefully he won't decide to "concuss himself" again. The Dr. in the ER used that and I thought it sounded funny and couldn't wait to use it. He's excited to see the new baby tomorrow, he's been saying that he can't wait to hold a new little baby again.

Expect the Unexpected

I wanted to go to the hospital today but not what we ended up going for.

Our sweet Connor came home from his friends house crying. He was a bit hysterical, but we got out of him that he was jumping on the trampoline and he kneed himself in the eye. Turns out he gave himself a mild concussion. He was throwing up, saying weird things and talking funny and still crying like crazy which isn't really like him. I called the Dr. they said to take him to the ER. Everything in the CT scan came back good, no broken bones around his eye and no swelling or bleeding on the brain. He slept pretty much the entire time we were there (when he wasn't throwing up). The Dr. talked about admitting him if we couldn't get him to keep water down, but they decided to just to an IV and put some phenergan in it, which is making him sleep the rest of the day. He's still complaining that his eye hurts really bad. Poor kid, I feel so bad that he's in so much pain. I've had a mild concussion before, it's not very fun. They said that he could be a little loopy for up to two weeks, so if anyone notices that he's a little loopier than normal that's why.

Hopefully we'll be back at the hospital this weekend and can come home with a baby, we'll see!

It's been a while

I haven't blogged in a while, I just keep thinking "if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all." It's no secret I really really really don't like being pregnant. It's funny how when you can't be and are trying so hard, there is nothing you want more than to puke and puke and puke because your pregnant, I keep trying to remember that, but it's getting harder and harder. I'm so glad that I've almost made it! I've been having contractions for about 3 weeks but they are not nearly painful enough or regular. My Dr. is starting me on the 21st if I don't go before, I'm hoping this is the week. Connor was two weeks early, my water broke, and Jackson was 10 days early, I just started having some serious contractions (I don't know how people do it natural, it really hurts!). I'm hoping for the water breaking scenario, it was easy and much less painful. If the worst part about pregnancy was the actual birth, I'd do it a million times, it's the pregnancy that I don't love. I love my kids so much though, I can hardly stand it. I can't wait to see this little girl, if it really is a girl. I can't part with our boy stuff yet, just in case it's really a boy. I can't get used to the fact that I'm really having a girl.

My mom finally got out of the hospital about 3 weeks ago. She got the okay to eat real food a week ago. She's having a hard time getting her strength back from being in the hospital for 2 months, poor lady. On top of all that, she sold her house last week!

Hospitals and Dr's, too much fun

Our poor little Jack has tonsillitis for the first time. We took him to the Dr. and turned his well baby check into a sick baby check. He had a temp of 104 this weekend and I had an appt already scheduled for Mon. morning. The Dr. took a look at his tonsils and said they were HUGE and one had white on it and diagnosed him with tonsillitis, thank heavens it's not swine flu, it would be our luck! Poor little booger talks funny cause his throat hurts. Today his temp got to 107, I called the Dr's office and they told me to get him to the ER. I drove to Timp Hosp and by the time we got to the parking lot, I took his temp again it was back down to the 103 range, I decided to just come home and give him a cool bath, my sweet Sean came home and helped me out and we got him cooled down, he seems okay for now. I hope I don't live to regret not taking him in.

In the last month my sweet mom's been in the hospital twice. She's had pancreatitis twice! I've heard it's super painful and seeing her in that much pain was so sad. The first time she was in the hospital they over medicated her with pain meds and killed her, they had to restart her heart with the padals, very scary. I'm glad that she's there and they are taking good care of her, she's having some minor problems with her heart now, but they are running more tests to make sure she's alright. My moms friend said that if my mom didn't have bad luck, she'd have no luck. I think I'd have to agree. I hope she feels better soon and can come home. I love her so much!

Today we celebrated Cinco de Mayo by going to Del Taco for lunch, I had a taco salad, yum!
Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone!

Saturday, March 28, 2009

A big thank you to my friends who have been checking in on me and my sweet hubby for taking care of me and everything else. I can't forget Connor who does so much to help out too, he's always willing to help me.

I have pyelonephritis (kidney infection), pink eye and sore throat. My fever has been spiking so I have to go in everyday to get a shot of Rocephin, they are trying to treat me out of the hospital, keeping my fingers crossed.

I know that I am so blessed to be able to have babies, but it's a good thing that all these things are happening with our last one because I absolutely wouldn't do it again. I'm just one of those that pregnancy and I don't get along together. I envy those who have great pregnancies and feel good.

It's a GIRL!

I feel too poopy to type much. Last week we had the ultrasound and everything looks good and it's a girl, no little peter in those pictures. The Dr. looked and looked to make sure there was no little peter and we saw girl parts!

Yes, still puking. I found a really strange coping strategy for changing diapers. If I hum in my lowest voice or growl it does something to my throat so I don't gag. If you ever have the same problem try it and let me know. I know I'm weird but I wonder if it works for other peeps too.

PINK EYE??? and other grumps..

I don't know what my family has, it could be pink eye??? Grrrrr. Jack is actually over it, but now Connor and Sean have it. I'm keeping them isolated, I'm one of those paranoid parents that despises passing stuff around. I'm keeping my contacts in, they could possibly be saving me.

I think I should take off my baby ticker, it makes me a little depressed seeing, today, 140 days to go. Ugh, really? Ultra sound a week from today. I'm looking forward to seeing if it's a healthy baby and we should find out what the sex is, I'll be 21 weeks so we should be able to tell.

I think I have insomnia. I woke up at 2 this morning cause Jack was crying, he can whimper and I wake up I don't know what the deal is. I laid there trying to go back to sleep because I baby sat my great niece today and she gets here at 5:30, so I knew I only had a few hours of sleep left, I just couldn't do it. Other than a short half our nap I've been awake since 2. I might just go crazy. I had been doing really good not puking lately, but today puked my guts out.. I think. Maybe I have a gut or two left.. okay.. I have a big gut left.

Thursday, February 12, 2009

I've been hearing some really crazy news this last several months, there have been several people that live around us that have had some really serious health issues and I just found out a few weeks ago that a good friend from high school has cancer (he's doing well by the way). It makes me wonder what the world is coming too or am I just getting to that age where this stuff happens? It seems like everyone is way too young to be going through this stuff. It also makes me feel like my problems are so insignificant. I complain a lot but I shouldn't, I don't have room to when I think of them and their families. They are all in our prayers, and are super troopers.

I just went to my Dr appointment yesterday. I'm 16 weeks and my ultra sound is scheduled in 5 weeks. I'm excited to see the baby growing and hopefully see that it's healthy. I was able to hear the heartbeat, with my history hearing the heartbeat every month is a great thing. The Dr said everything looks great, other than being sick. He said I could try another drug, prednisone, but it will make me balloon, like 10 lbs in 5 days, lots of water weight. I'm weighing my options. I'd never heard of that one to control nausea.

I'm Grateful For..

I may still be sick but I'm watching the Today Show this morning and a lady gave birth to octuplets , eight babies! I guess the 8th baby was a surprise, SURPRISE! Can you imagine? They are all doing well. I like to watch Jon & Kate Plus 8, they have sextuplets and twins. That show teaches me that I am grateful for my life, and that I can be more organized. I've wished for twins before because I don't have the greatest pregnancies and it would be nice to be done with one pregnancy, however, I've never ever wished for even five kids. Three is enough for me. Today I'm grateful that I'm not pregnant with octuplets.

This is Kate before she delivered her sextuplets. Wow!

I just watched THE COOLEST video EVER on my nieces blog. I highly suggest you go to her blog and watch it. Look to the right side bar and 'click' on Allie. It's the best, I sat there watching with a smile on my face the whole time. Super cool!

Two Things I've Learned Today

1. Don't pick up a little brown ball with bare hands, because it could be poop.

2. New England Clam Chowder is white and Boston Clam Chowder is Pink.

Poor Sean

It's raining out, pollution all around sludge is probably coming down, and yet another bomb threat at Jordan. He was late getting home yesterday due to a bomb threat, paperwork, paperwork, paperwork. I turned on the TV this morning to see that there is another bomb threat at Jordan High. I guess they didn't quite get the effect they wanted yesterday because only he and a few teachers were left in the building. I just hope he doesn't get blown up. I love my man!

I'm done with this weather. I need some sunshine desperately. If I wasn't so afraid of getting skin cancer again I'd go to the tanning bed to get some artificial sunlight, who knows maybe I will anyway. This is so depressing. Last year we were contemplating moving to Alaska, I thought I could love it, but now I think not. I need sunshine. Come on sunshine, come out to play. If I wasn't sick, I'd head to the mountains for a nice ski day, but alas... I am sick.

I have a friend who does triathlons, her teams sponsor is Luna (nutrition bars) and their team is called the Luna Chix. I love it! I thought that was pretty witty, do you get it? Lunatics? Funny right? I want to join their team someday. They ROCK!

Bumantic!!

I just typed in a word verification on my nieces blog, it was "bumantic". Don't you think that should be real word? What would it mean? A romantic bum? I think I'm going to start using it maybe I can get it into websters, but I can't take credit for it, blogger should take credit.

Morning comes so stinking early. Connor has to get up before the sun comes up. We got new bunk beds and they delivered them this morning at 7:30. I woke Connor up and told him that they are coming to deliver the bunk beds and he was so excited he said "Will they set them up and then I can sleep in my new bed for the rest of the night?" Poor boy, it happens often that he wakes up wondering why he has to get up in the middle of the night and go to school. A few more months... but I'm ready for spring now. I can't ski this year so the snow is useless to me. I'm ready for sun, warmth, and laying a blanket out on the grass to read a good book or going for a nice walk in the hood.

School Is Back In Session!

I miss my little buddy Connor while he's at school. He had a really fun Holiday break, two whole weeks off. He played with his friends every single day. He played out in the snow a lot. I'm loving that they have this much snow to play in. Last year I told Sean that I remember walking home from school climbing the snowbanks. We hadn't had any big snowbanks until this year, and they kids have been having so much fun climbing up and sledding and building with them. Connor had tons of fun being pulled on his sled behind our neighbors 4-wheeler, they wanted to do it again the next day but school was starting so JR helped them go out with a bang.

I'm loving nap time again. I'm sitting here in silence listening to the clicking of the keyboard, hum of the computer, ticking of the clock and that is all I hear, it's wonderful. I love quiet time.
