The Digit-al Dozen Does Whimsy--If Your Friends Jumped Off A Bridge AKA Mermaid!

Hi Everyone!! Happy Monday!  I am dying tonight because I've had the chance to see what so  many of my fellow Digit-al Dozeners have done today.  I was going to post my mermaid mani on Friday but then when I saw so many of us do mermaid today I HAD to change my line up LOL.  I mean come on Whimsy--what the freaking french is whimsy for cry loud?  It was definitely not my choice.  I'm not very whimsical nor am I a cutesy cutesy kind of gal but I knew for certain mermaids were whimsical so it was the first mani I'd done in preparation for this week LOL

Mine isn't really as spectacular as everyone else's mainly because I just wanted my polish to shine through I guess okay and the fact I can't find where I put my shells or pearls after the move ahaha.

So to answer the age old question "if your friends jumped off of a bridge would you too?" and I guess my answer is yes because here's my mermaid mani

My base is the standard Zoya Charla and I topped with with a little Sally Girl I found ages ago for some extra sparkle
Honest to god I could wear a mermaid mani every single day

I used BP-L003 for stamping and really love this type of mermaid scale look
My nails are SOOOOO long right now but I'd be crazy to file them down during a DD week!
I know this week is going to be very challenging for me but I came up with a cute idea during a fail I had so let's hope we see this cute idea as a success later on in the week!

Scaley Things!

Hi Everyone!!! Happy Monday!  Tonight I've got my Fantasy Football draft so I thought I'd put on some fantasy nails.  Ah if only mermaids were real!  I think it's no secret that mermaid nails one of my favorites to do and all week last week the theme in the advanced nail stamping group was "scales".  I hauled out my foils as I haven't done anything with them in quite awhile AND discovered I actually have the least amount of cracking with my Rejuvacote over them and then did some stamping
I like this look and how the foils make the scales look real!
Foils are fun and I love stamping over them
With some help from a MoYou Sailor plate this mermaid nails look was easy.  Let's just hope tonight's Fantasy Football draft is just as easy!

Thanks for stopping by!!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!!

My dragon can't be tamed!

Hi Everyone!!! As promised I have a review of the Messy Mansion MM21 plate or Scaley Things.  OMG it was a glorious plate!  I waited and waited for this thing to become available and when Julia asked me if I'd care to review it I about died!  I love Messy Mansion plates!  Their quality is fantastic, the shipping from OZ stupendous and the price really cannot be beat for such amazing quality!

I really wanted to come up with a few awesome mani ideas for this plate and I believe I did just that!

First up is my gradient dragon.  I hauled out some Zoya's from the Fall Collection  Mason, Neve and Giovanna.  All gorgeous jewel tone colors great for Fall and Winter.  Here's a pic of the gradient

I stamped with China Glaze Passion

Look at this cool image!!!!!!!! DRAGON SCALES!
OMG!!!!!!
But wait!  I'm not done!!!!

I also did a Fire Dragon mani!  I hauled out the lovely and often forgot I had it Elle's Spell.  I layered her over black first
Isn't she lovely??!!
Isn't she beautiful?!!!

She is, but she is not as awesome as Fire Dragon!

ROAR!!!!
Just like fired buried beneath!!
GAHHHHHHHH I can't stop staring at my fingers!

BUT WAIT!!!!! THERE'S MORE!

Omg as if these two mani's are not awesome enough I still had another image I wanted to use!  I tried an Ice Dragon mani and it sucked.  Big time sucked so instead I came up with this lovely Mermaid Mani!

I think we all know how I feel about Mermaid Nails!
Isn't this cool??!!!  I painted my nails black then did the accent nails with a little franken I bought a few years ago called Ariel's Tail.  I did a gradient of Kleancolor Green and Aqua over the other nails and stamped once again using Messy Mansion MM21

Simply amazeballs!

Honestly if I could only have 1 plate to use for the rest of my life it would be this plate!
You can purchase Messy Mansion plates HERE.  Julia has done an amazing job with some really great themes and ideas!

And don't think I'm going to let that Ice Dragon mani beat me either!  I will find redemption!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!!

Summer Challenge Mermaid!!

Hi Readers!!! Yay finally to the Mermaid Challenge!  And not too soon either Readers because I'll be starting a month long challenge in September with a few of my friends.  I did it last year before blogging and it was KILLER.  I was going to pass on it this year but I hung in until the end last year so I couldn't leave my girls hanging in the breeze lol!

I got an AHmazing gift in the mail today.  My 3 sweet Ninja friends sent me some of the new polishes from their collection.  I got Alexandrite, Zultanite and Color Changing Garnet
They are STUNNING READERS!!!!  I knew I could use a couple of them for sure for my mermaid challenge!

These are duochrome glitter polishes, and they are really, really, really, really, REALLY COOL!

Check out Alexandrite and Zultanite in the shade

I layered Alexandrite over OPI Ski Teal We Drop and Zultanite over Zoya Edyta.  GLORIOUS!

Here it is with light
Man oh man oh man oh man oh man oh man oh man oh man oh man!!!!

I decided for a mermaid and merman look

I really love how this turned out!  I think you all know how much I love mermaid manis!!
Here it is in the shade
I really think I love the green best!  It's almost dragonish!!

I love these polishes Readers!!!

Rhonni is working hard to keep these beauties in stock.  If you don't have them yet don't despair!  You can find them here http://ninjapolish.com/home.php

For my mermaid look I used OPI Ski Teal We Drop topped with Ninja Polish Alexandrite and stamped with OPI Harmony and added some glitter at the tips.  My merman look is Zoya Edyta topped with Ninja Polish Zultanite and then I stamped using a GORGEOUS dark green from Nails Inc called Elm Park Gardens.  My mermaid image is from BM209 and my merman image is
Mash-39.

Let's see what everyone else has come up for their mermaid challenge!

This one didn't go unnoticed!

Hi Readers!  I forgot to let you all know I'm back at work!  Yes! After last month's fiasco I find myself working in a great company with some really nice people.  It's always "iffy" when you're working if you like nail polish because you're not sure if you have to go the quiet and subdued look or if you can just be yourself.  Luckily for me I can be myself.  The fab woman training me comments and compliments me on my nails everyday.  With this mani I didn't really have much time to get creative the night before so I hauled out my old tried and true go to design--can anyone guess what it might be?????
Did you all guess right???? Yep it's a mermaid tail mani lol.  And this one might look super familiar because they fab Cris from Let Them Have Polish did one like this awhile ago.  It's one of my all time favorite mani's by her.  I posted mine on her facebook wall and she tried to tell me this one was better than the original but no really it's not!  This is the original please make sure you check it out!!
I fell back into my gradient ways as used Zoya Wednesday and Color Club Metamorphosis and then stamped using Kleancolor Metallic Aqua.
I hadn't really intended to copy Cris' with this mani BUT after I had the gradient done and the aqua stamped on top I said holy crap this reminds me of Cris' fab mani so I had to haul out the rhinestones to make it a look alike lol!
We all went on a little tour of the office building and it turns out I was the only one who hadn't yet met the head of the department.  I stepped into her office to greet her and shake hands with her and the first thing she said to me  was "I love your nails!"  No doubt about it these are a show stopper!
I wore then with a cute teal crinkle top and they matched perfectly!  If I'd had the time I would have made a matching ring!
I know I've said it a bazillion times but I just love a mermaid tail mani!

What do you think of this one?  Do you like that all the colors are in the same color family or do you wish they had been different from each other?

Thanks for stopping by!!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Beauties and the Beast

Hi Readers! I'm not really sure what the deal is today but I can't pick my normal font! What the french blogger?! Well I'm not going to let that stop me from posting my mani so nah-nah-nah Blogger! The super cute Lindsey over at Never Land Nail is having a nail art contest with a twist! She's got the super cute theme idea of magical and mystical images. Check out her blog and the contest rules here. WELL some of those things are right up my alley. I would wear mermaid tails every single day of my life I think. I'm also a HUGE fan of all things dragon so this was just a super great idea for me. This is the fun mani I came up with!
I used a few techniques to come up with this mani. I did some sponging with a variety of blues and greens on the thumb and index. I did multiple colors on the plates when I stamped the background for the faeries and for the faeries themselves I double stamped over the image so as to make her look as if she was hovering. Here's a nice close up!
My intent was to show a mani with mermaids--the thumb and ring, a dragon, the index, and faeries.
What do you think of this one readers?  I have to say I'm really loving it!  Please make sure you stop by Lindsey's blog and check out all the other entries!!!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!

First Post!

Hello Everyone!!!! Welcome to my first post!  I've been toying with starting a blog for awhile and some of my nail polish friends have been asking me to start one so finally here it is.
I've been a nail polish enthusiast for several years but it wasn't until last March that I became polish obsessed.  What put me over the edge??? Simple--stamping!  I got my first set of stamping plates last March and since then I've been non stop!
While on the hunt for a post I had seen with a mermaid's tail using Nubar's Opulent Pearl I came across this awesome mani by flouncyskirts.com. check it out here.

I started out with a glitter gradient as I had seen on flouncyskirts.  I used Sinful Colors All About U, Call U Later, Nail Junkie and because I didn't have Hottie I used OPI Last Friday Night instead.
Because I'm a "stamper" I had to "amp" it up a bit!  I used plate BM 209 and stamped with Sally Hansen Chrome Pen in Turquoise
And because my thumb nail is FINALLY long here's a pic with it included lol!
So there it is ladies my very first mani for the new year AND my very first mani on my brand spanking new blog!
I can't say that I'll post daily as most likely I won't, but I do try a new mani every 2 to 3 days.  I hope you'll check back in and see what's new!
Thanks for visiting and a very Happy New Year to you all!
