The Digit-al Dozen Does Geometric--Monkey See, Monkey Do Monday--online search!

Hi Everyone!  OMG can you even believe how long the title of today's post is??  This week is the Digit-al Dozen's Geometric week.  I don't know about anyone else but when I found out about it I just UG.  Even though I have a million zillion plates with geometric designs you just really want to come up with something cool and original.  Thankfully since it's Monday I didn't have to come up with anything original at all!  All I had to do was recreate something I found online for Monkey See, Monkey Do Monday post WOOT!

So a super duper long time ago when I first started  stamping my nails I found this picture online.  I saved it onto my computer where it's sat for four years now.  I recently ran across it while cleaning up some of my computer pictures and thought "hey! this would be perfect for geometric week" and so I recreated it!
I seriously first fell in love with this design when I first got into "stamping"
I basically never tried to recreate it because A I really don't like dotting and B I really don't like tape mani's LOL!
Aaaaaaand I was basically too lazy to tape this which is why my lines aren't as sharp as they could be
Black and white though how cool is that???!
This was honestly a perfect mani to do to kick off geometric week!

Here's the picture I found years ago.  I tried to find it again doing a search but it didn't come up! There's is no watermark to be found on this baby--such a shame as I'd love to credit the original owner of this kick ass mani.  If you know who it is please let me know!
I tried to recreate the hand pose as well, mine didn't turn out so great
What do you think??? Here they are side by side
I can't wait to check out what everyone else came up with for their first day!!!!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Childhood--The King Of Rock n Roll!

Hi Everyone!! Happy Friday!!  Today I guess I saved the best for last with my childhood mani!

Most people who know me know without any doubt I am an Elvis fan.  I have been one almost my entire life.  As a young girl of seven I fell in love with him for the first time while watching him sing and dance his way into Shelley Fabares heart in the movie Girl Happy.  When all  my friends were into David Cassidy, Bobby Sherman, Donny Osmand, and Andy Gibb I was into Elvis.  I have always been into Elvis and will be until the day I die.

I am lucky enough to have a super friend who happens to be the genius behind Red Dog Designs and when I asked Gina if she could do a couple of custom polishes for me that were Elvis related she said "sure!" and she did an awesome job!  Last year I had her come up with a polish that looked like Elvis' famous eagle jumpsuit.  I named it Elvis Has Left The Building.

I wanted to be try to recreate said famous eagle jumpsuit but my freehand skills are absolute crap so I reached out and asked the wonderful Sheila of The Pointless Cafe if she could a drawing up for me to recreate.  Sheila is amazing, her free hand skills are awesome and even though she was super busy last night she took time out to do a drawing for me I could actually recreate!

IT PAYS TO HAVE FRIENDS PEOPLE!

So today I have the most awesome mani to show you for my final day of The Digital-al Dozen's childhood week

Here's the famous Elvis eagle jumpsuit I recreated

Oh my goodness be still my heart!  I still heart Elvis after 47 years!!!!

This is the drawing Sheila made for me.  I foolishly felt like I could get it all on one nail LOL!  She told me nope no way and came up with this for me instead

That right there is an original piece by Sheila from The Pointless Cafe people, someday it will be worth millions!

Here's my custom polish from Red Dog Designs--Elvis Has Left The Building
It's an awesome white jelly with red, blue and gold various sized glitters with gold holo stars and micro gold glitters
I think Gina completely nailed it when she created this polish for me.
I will say this wasn't easy.  I had to use a toothpick to dot with and had to redo the middle finger 4 times.  And in the end my eagle's eye isn't where it should be BUT this is freaking awesome!

What do you all think??  Did I nail it or what?
 Elvis, forever in my heart.

I'm heading over to check out the last day for everyone.  I have to say I really enjoyed this theme a lot!

Lotsa Dotsa!!

Hi Everyone!!! Happy glorious weekend to you!  The theme this week in the advanced nail stamping group is dotticures.  Let me just start off by saying this--unlike my fab friend Debbie aka The Crumpet I am not a fan of the dotticure.  Oh don't get me wrong, I love looking at dotticures.  I love seeing what everyone else can come up with when it comes to dotticures, as for me actually doing them--I am a huge failure.

Everyone always comes up with these great ideas and these amazing color combinations but not me.  While I definitely have the "bad picker" gene I certainly do lack the "good dotter" gene.

Here's what makes the dotticure theme this week all the more horrible--I'm the one who picked the theme! OMG yes how was I this stupid?

Everyone else in the group pretty much knocked this week out of the ball park.  I'll share my pretty tame dotting mani's with you and you can be the judge of whether or not my "good dotter" gene is missing.

First up a dotted gradient I did with a bunch of oranges sitting next to me.  This one was born basically out of being too lazy to get up and look for other colors

It just didn't move it, so the next day I stamped over it with the Pueen Encore set
Naturally I like it much better with the stamping over it but i also think it's because the colors look great with black.

From a distance you can't even tell there are dots under the stamping
So this one was okay after I stamped on it

Next since I decided how much I liked stamping over dots I did another one with full on stamping over them in mind
I wish I knew how to make my camera take pics of blurple's but it just does happen.  But how cute is this?!!!
I dotted with some fun colors and then put on Sally Hansen Pacific Blue to go along with them
Some CiCi & SiSi stamping makes it pretty great I think.

I do find I enjoy a stamped look over my dots.  I'm going to play around with this look more often I think.

The week's not over yet either!  I'm hoping to get a couple more dotticures done before the weekend is over.

What do you guys think?  Do you like your dots straight up--or do you like stamping over them?

A lotta dots

Hi Everyone and welcome to Friday! Woot!!!!  On our for the weekend is seeing the new Star Trek Movie--Into Darkness.  I'm an old school Star Trek gal--I've watched them all but still hold a special fondness for the original cast and crew.  Chris Pine is certainly no hardship to look at though!

I've been slacking in my Pinterest Recipe of the week meals so I'm also planning on rectifying that this weekend as well.  I might even tackle a meal AND a dessert!

I've got a mani today I feel like I got a little carried away with.  At first I just had some nice striping with Illamasqua Muse, white, and China Glaze He's Going In Circles but then I felt it needed some dots
It's still pretty cute but suddenly it seems so "busy" to me
I cannot get over how much I love Illamasqua Muse though, it had been on my wish list forever!
It's pretty much the best teal in the entire universe!
I still haven't mastered the larger to smaller dots thing yet though.  It's just too hard to keep up an easy flow with my movement.  I'll have to keep working on it!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!  It's Prom here and my nephew and his lovely girlfriend are going.  We do have some rain in the forecast so let's just hope it doesn't ruin picture day OR all those well coiffed girls going to prom!

Dot, Dot, Goose!

Hi Readers! UG I do not like my mani for today's 31 Day Challenge!  I don't know what's going on but lately I have just been falling flat when it comes to great ideas!  I felt this one had tons of potential, but really it's just like a big fat goose egg of a mani!
I did some more tone on tone stamping using Zoya Wednesday and Zuza and then I dotted with my most fave China Glaze For Audrey but this is just meh

My cuticles are dry lately my lips are dry lately and I wonder if it's the stress I've been going through lately.  I need to pull myself out of this funk Readers!

Hopefully tomorrow will bring something fantastic!

hmmmmm stripes not looking very promising!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Monkey See, Monkey Do Monday--Pimp My Nailz!

Hi Readers!  I am FINALLY featuring the every popular monarch butterfly wings mani as my Monkey See, Monkey Do post!  My friend Sam pinned this on Pinterest awhile ago and I loved it.  What makes it so different from others I've seen--IT'S RIMMED!  You know me and I'm always joking that everyone loves a good rim job so when I saw this all I could think of was Cassanova meets The Virgin lol!  So here it is my first ever free hand monarch butterfly wing mani
To be honest I'm not a huge fan of my mani!  The lines look WAY too fat to me!
I think I would have liked it better had I done the butterfly wing water marbling over it instead of freehand.  Face it when it comes to freehand I pretty much suck!
The inspiration for my mani was from Pimp My Nailz.  She does some very cool stuff and you can see her butterfly wing mani here

Here are the side by side comparison's!
Her lines are so nice and dainty!

To get my look I used China Glaze Salsa, OPI Atomic Orange, Zoya Pippa and Zoya Tracie.  I used Milani Black White for my wings outline and Milani White On for the dots.

Monkey See, Monkey Do Monday--A Girl and Her Polish

Hi Readers! Today I have another installment in the super fun and fab Monkey See, Monkey Do Monday!!!  Honestly it's really hard to pick just one mani you've seen out there in blogger land or youtube or just the internet in general.  When I saw this one though I loved it!  Here's the mani I chose to do for today
I had to do some fast thinking with this one readers because Katee used both Gouda Gouda Two Shoes and Wooden Shoe You Like To Know by OPI and I only bought Wooden Shoe.  So I decided to franken a little Gouda lol.  I honestly would have never thought to put these two colors together but I love how it looks!
There's a little hidden shimmer buried in Wooden Shoe Like To Know and I know it's there in Gouda Gouda Two Shoes as well.  I think I'm going to have to get Gouda after all!
I love mani's like this simple in application and design but such a knockout on the nails
Please check out the Katee's original mani here and check out the comparison shots.  First up Katee's
And here's mine
WOW after seeing them one on top of each other my franken is not close to Gouda Gouda Two Shoes at all!  I REALLY need it now lol!

My friend Stephanie who isn't blogging yet did a great mani I wanted to share with everyone too!  She got her idea from Lindsey at Neverland Nail Blog.
Check out Lindsey's mani here

Monkey See, Monkey Do--Let Them Have Polish!

Hi Readers!  In the nail world most people know what this means LTHP.  It's sort of like NASA is the National Air and Space Association or BSA is Boy Scouts of America OR The Bank Secrecy Act for you bankers out there lol!  Anyway LTHP to us is Let Them Have Polish and Cris' blog is one of the first blogs I followed.  I copied tons and tons of ideas from her and am so thankful for her creativity as it's helped me find some of mine!  Today's post is super cute and I don't really "do" cute lol!  Here's the great thing about this Monkey See, Monkey Do--I'm copying Cris who was inspired by Sarah at Chalkboard nails lol!  To see Cris' mani go here.  To see Sarah's mani go here Sarah's in the spotlight tomorrow!
But let's look and see whooooooooooooo we have here
 Here's a close up!

I wish I would have gotten more shots of my thumb!  Poor guy's orange so his beak looks whack lol!
Here are the comparison shots first up Cris!
And now mine!
What do you think of this one readers??? Thank god I figured out how to do a successful half moon mani so I could do this cute mani.  I know I say I don't "do" cute but I really nailed it here!  Geez what a big head whooooooo do I think I am??

My Monkey See, Monkey Do week is almost at an end--I've had a lot of fun doing it and still have lots of WAY COOL bloggers I haven't featured yet so I'm sure you'll be seeing this week again I sure hope you don't mind!

By the way readers I asked some of my friends for some more abbreviations and here's some they came up with--BSB Backstreet Boys of course, USA United States of America--I forgot this one if you can believe it! One my favorites was IHOP International House of Pancakes lol!  There are tons and tons of them readers lol!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Do two halves make a whole??

Hi Readers!  I have another half moon mani!  Actually this mani is on my right hand and I sported it the same time as my mani from yesterday! So YES I had on two completely different mani's readers!  I've been doing that a bit lately as I did with my snakeskin mani from Animalistic Week.  So far no one has looked at me like I'm a wacko so I guess it's okay.  So what's exciting about today's mani--wellllllllll it features one of my frankens!  I named this one Fury after a story in the New Species series by Laurann Dohner.  I'm not a huge fan of science fiction romance yet I LoVED this series!
Here's a bottle shot of Fury.  My wonderful friend Claude (Claudia) sent me this bottle of MNY that I HAD to have because of the handcuffs on the cap!  I added some Nfu-Oh 63 to it in the hope I was making a dark vampy scattered holo.  Not really what I intended as it seems deep magenta to me but I super love it none the less!
I wish I would have done a better bottle shot--can you see the little handcuffs on the bottle? OMG that is why I HAD to have some of this polish.  Claude sent me a black one too which I adore and good thing as she informed me they are being discontinued.  FYI readers I love handcuffs for some reason!
Here's what Fury looks likes--pretty dang gorgeous if you ask me!
It looks great here and I could have stopped here but come on who are we kidding readers????? You know I don't "do" plain polish lol!  I decided to do another half moon mani with Fury and topped him with Essie Spash of Grenadine
Just like yesterday's mani I added some dots to this one.  I really like the color combinations together
And here's how it looks right side up!
I got some assistance from the camera man to try to get pics of both hands together.
Don't worry readers there's nothing wrong with your eye sight.  It's not you it's the pic lol!  As I've said before the camera man shakes likes he's 124 instead of 24 lol!
After I finished this mani I was looking at Fury and thinking oh oh don't I already have this color?  I recently acquired OPI DS Extravagance and I was worried I had duped it!
Hmmm they look close BUT mine is darker and the the holo pigments is much smaller THEREFORE I need these both LOL!  Do you see those little handcuffs on the MNY bottle readers? OMG seriously I love it!  I wish they would make hand cuffs on a stamping plate.  I would be all over that plate!

What do you think readers--am I crazy to wear two different colors on each hand?  How are you liking this one compared to yesterday's?  And what do you think of my franken Fury?
OOOH speaking of Fury here's the cover from the book!
I should have done the chain image!!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fantastic day!
