Monday Update

Hey everyone. Time for a Monday update. I'll link to the Stitchery Link Party too. Make sure to pop over and see what everyone has been working on. She also has a too cute cat embroidery freebie this week. Friday I got to working on the April Whimsy from the Year of Whimsy leaflet. Here it is after 2 days of work...

I didn't get to work on him Saturday though. My framed pieces were ready and we went to pick them up. Here they are...

 

 

I also got the last two seasons from Cricket Collection ready...

Then when it's time they just pop into this frame on my wall...

Above the seasonal one is You are my Sunshine. I did that one for Jeremiah in 2009. I used to sing that song to him all the time. I figured I might as well share it too. I got it framed a long time ago. I love how the framed pieces turned out. The Dog Wisdom piece is just PERFECT. I'm very lucky to have such a wonderful framing shop nearby. I took the pieces in all wrinkled and now they are perfectly framed.

After picking up the frames we went phone shopping. We've been paying too much for nothing for way too long. We still had dumb phones. We were paying more than most our friends with a data package even. Of course we found out our plan didn't even exist any more. But they aren't going to tell you hey you could save a lot of money if you stop what you're doing. So for only $10 more a month we have smart phones with 16 gigs a month data!! We really lucked out. We did some research before hand and ended up picking Samsung Galaxy Core Prime phones. We already have tablets so didn't need to replace what we do on those. So it's a fantastic cheap starter smart phone. As with anything new it took us forever to get it all setup and figured out so Saturday was a waste. We did rent a movie (The Visit - a fantastic scary movie!) and enjoyed that together though. I can't get over we actually have smart phones now! About time haha.

Started for CJC Day 7. Finished Jan 27th.  Took 7 Days of Work.

Now I'm going to do a small Mill Hill kit. I found a huge stack of them at a garage sale this past summer. My goal is to try to do one a month this year so I will end up with some finished rather than just sitting there. The first one mom picked from the stack is Forest Frosty. It's from 1996. Cost me a whopping $1. Here is what it will look like...

Oh and just in case you are following along. Mom's new dish receiver didn't fix the problem. So I'm waiting now for the service tech to show up. At least he was able to come today.

6th Day of Progress

So close. I just need time. It will happen.

Sorry about my rant yesterday. Thanks for listening to me....or I guess you read me haha. Today we finally got to do a full day of school. I even finally got several loads of laundry done and folded. Mom's TV is still acting up but the new box should arrive today. If this doesn't fix it......wait I'm not going to worry about that till it happens.

5th Day of Progress

I was able to finish the outline. Now to just fill it in. WWE was so eventful I didn't even do a stitch haha.

Pardon me while I rant for a little bit now. I'm normally a really positive person. With the luck we've been having lately I seriously just want to move to a private island and say screw it all. We woke up this morning to our NEW furnace not working. The guy has to order a part and will be back Friday to hopefully fix it. (He does have it working until then at least.) Also Mom's just replaced a few weeks ago Dish Receiver is acting up again which means changing to another new one tomorrow in hopes of they just sent us a piece of crap. So I spent another day fixing problems. *sigh* Another day not doing a full day of school. So frustrating. I just want things to work out for a little bit! After last week I seriously said out loud last night I just want to start a new week and have it all be okay. Guess I jinxed it. I always put out good stuff so I don't really know why Karma is trying to teach me a lesson. Please Karma I'm ready for a break!

4th Day of Progress

More progress. Just had to share him with everyone. This is another one of those pieces I'm going to miss when I finish. I'm already looking at where I will hang him when I get him framed haha. I will get a lot of stitching time today again so that's fantastic. Tonight we have a WWE pay per view. It's my favorite one of the year Royal Rumble. We can't wait. We are getting missed by this round of snow. Yesterday they were saying 5 inches...today it's changed to only 2. I heard the East Coast is going to get a fun one though. They always steal our fun haha.

3rd Day of Progress on Blackwork Dragon

Just couldn't put him down yesterday. Like I said in the last post Wow he stitches fast. The last post has the other 2 days of progress if you would like scroll down and check it out. If you are wondering yes he is definitely staying out and being worked on again. He might even get to be my first finish of the year.

2nd Day on Blackwork Dragon

Yesterday was the 2nd day of working on Blackwork Dragon one of my CJC starts. I started him on Day 7. He goes so fast. I'm definitely keeping him out for now. Here is where I got...

Day 7 of CJC

Today's pick was Blackwork Dragon by Dragon Dreams. I had this one in my stash forever I kept wanting to start it. I finally took my chance today. Here is where I got...

You can't tell very well in this picture I guess but the fabric is a beautiful pinkish/purpleish sparkly linen. I had received it from a lady I did model stitching for. The thread is a Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe Hand Dyed Floss called Violet Mist. I received it in a grab bag exchange. So it's a hodge podge of stash and I love it. Just as I had hoped it was a really fun piece to work on. I already pouted about having to put it down haha. But I will be back to it soon enough. 8 more starts to go.

Brr right now it's 1 degree out and the windchill is -10. Getting colder they said as the night goes on too. We've been hiding inside pretty much. Izzy (our dog) doesn't even want to go outside as often as normal.
