Copic Buzz Challenge- Animal Antics!

Well it's about time I started getting myself organised, had a bit of a panic last night with my mum, (Mum is you are reading this you are very naughty and I will slap your wrist next time I see you!) I still have SO much to catch up on but I seem to be stuck in "go slow mode" after the mayhem of the last few weeks. I really must get kickstarted and get myself prepared and organised.
Anyway let's get down to some crafty chatter! Yesterday afternoon, Barbara from Copic Buzz Challenge requested for a little bit of help and I jumped in with both feet and no brain, to set todays challenge over on Paper Craft Planet.
In between pacing up and down and trying to get the children settled I threw together a card for

"Anyway the challenge this week is to include some type of animal in your creations, it could be something mystical and magical or a basic domestic pet...there is so much choice out there and I cannot wait to see what you all come up with."

Today the latest challenge has been set over on Copics Colour Challenge and this week the colours to play with are........

I got there eventually and played with my new card for using my Copics on...and my new Label 1 Nesties...I've had them on order since the end of January so I was rather impatient to try them out!

I used Yo8,Y15, y17 for the yellows. V17 and BV04 for the violets and BG09, BG10 and BG15 for the blue/greens.

A difficult card to make!

I have been asked to make a card in memory of a little boy who died about 2 years ago. He was only 10 weeks old and I have been looking at his memorial site, at the messages and pictures and I have been crying my eyes out!

I wanted this card to be a celebration of his life rather than a sympathy card but it didn't make it any easier to make. I used a poem I wrote last year, in fact it was one of my very first blogs posts here. I re-worded it a bit to suit the circumstances and embellished the card with his name and a stamped image....I do hope it is OK!!

Playing catch up AGAIN!

In a vain attempt to catch up on some of the wonderful challenges out there at the moment I am afraid to say I have doubled up! I don't like doing it, it defeats the object of a challenge to me but time got the better of me and I sort of merged two in together quite naturally.

I stamped , cut and coloured a few of these Sugar Nellie Penpal stamps at the same time - I find it works that way for me as time is always so precious. Popped her on a Nestabilities circle and embellished with a few flowers and a circular sentiment. I have loads of cards I MUST make so here's one of my list.

The template comes from this week's Sketch Saturday and I love it. So simple and easy to make up I am sure I will use this one over and over again. Thank you.
I also took yet more inspiration from the first challenge over on BasicGrey Challenges where you have to use buttons and the scrummy BG of your choice. I joined in with this challenge earlier in the week with Ragdoll Charlotte but felt I had cheated a bit with her "faux button eyes!" This time I used BG Oh Baby! Girl - Taylor.
Right must dash, go a few last minute things to do before the school run!

I have actually finished a card!

It's been a long day, what with the arrival of the puppies (what a cuddly distraction though!) and the children back to school tomorrow (been sorting through piles of outgrown uniform) any crafting today has been pretty hit and miss...and it's been one of those cards that have had more misses!!

LOL....everything seemed to go wrong on it including my sewing machine scrunching up all the stitches so I had to flip it around to hide the mess under the image. Luckily enough I hadn't cut the strip of sewn card and paper to size otherwise I am sure the whole lot would have ended up in the bin.

Anyway, it's ended up a bit more off centered and unbalanced than I would have liked but it's another card in my little stock box.

I used this weeks template challenge over on Papertake Weekly.....I couldn't resist trying to get my hands on that stamp!!!

And what have I achieved today...

...LOL......Not a lot!

I have made two cards...here is one of them-my attempt at this weeks Friday Sketchers Challenge. I used another one of my bargain £2 Sugar Nellie stamps and a tiny little flower stamp (unknown) that a lovely crafter sent me ages ago. Hmmmm now I am getting into my stamping, me thinks I may need for swirly florishy stamps next!

Meet Foxy!

Now how can I resist a bargain seeing as I am looking to increase my stamp collection. This little Foxy Fellow was a mere £2.....and he is so quick and easy to colour too. Just as well as I am SOOO short of time at the moment.

I made this card for this weeks Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge where :
"we would love to see you use something that you have recycled on your card,It could be some scraps of card from your stash or some old scraps of material anything really it's up to you,let your imagination run wild."
This is what I used, basically I took a VERY old card I had made years ago and tore off the lovely bronze card and ribbon!

The circular sentiment is a free download over on Dotties World.....these are just so versatile check out yesterdays example by Karen!

I just can't resist a dare!!!

So much for sticking to order in my challenge diary! I was half way through a card this morning, then I updated my diary with some new challenges that had been launched today...and then it all fell apart at the seems!!!

I obviously cannot resist a dare!!!!

We've folded.....:)
Now this weeks mid week dare is inspired by Rachel and is called 'Folded' ! This is not folds in the card blank itself, but rather folds ON the card- whether it be some kind of paper folding technique or folded embellishments or even just a folded over message of some type.

Now funny enough this idea came to me at the weekend while making some cards for another challenge so as soon as I read this- I just had to drop everything a give it a go....the other card by the way is still sitting unfinished on my desk!!! ( I have an excuse as the children are at home, I have cooked dinner tidied up and helped hang one of our new vertical blinds in the kitchen! )Now it is time for a nice cuppa and curl up on the settee with hubby to watch Moonlight.

The paper is out of the prize pack Martine sent me, the gold shimery paper is out of the depths of an untouched pack from yonks ago-think it came from Craft Creations

Papertake Weekly- Making Waves!

I have been looking around for a few more challenge sites and building a nice little list in my favorites- I am still trying to get myself tidied and organised, but progress is slow. If only I didn't take quite so long dithering about what to actually do- then progress would be much better...but that is me I am afraid, I have been like it for 42 years, I can't see me changing now!

I am going to use a big desk diary that is sitting unused in the kitchen, for my crafty use. Hopefully I can put in challenges and deadline dates as well as working towards any cards I need to make personally. My own diary gets filled up with appointments for hospitals, opticians, school meetings, NVQ deadlines....etc.....not anything for ME!!!! Now if only I could find my old filofax and transfer all the birthday dates over I could make a start!!!

Right waffle over- this is my first attempt at a Papertake Weekly Challenge. I found the site a few weeks back but never got around to joining in. But this week I just had to have a go.

Making Waves

This weeks challenge is nice and easy! 'Making Waves' - the challenge is to use scallops or zig-zags (or both if your really keen lol!) on your project! Looking forward to seeing your creations!

I have been wanting to try out some large scallops for a while and yesterday while organising the childrens crafty stuff, I came across an embossing template that came free with a magazine...it had a really large scalloped edge so I just couldn't resist trying it out- and the scallops fit perfectly onto a small square card. I made two this morning- a Sugar Nellie for a girl and a Cuddly Buddly for a boy.

...and now my first Nellie!!

Well Mr Postie turned up trumps again today, that all my birthday pennies spent!! Apart from feeling really yukky, achey and tired (was awake a just gone 5am again!!) I have tried to cheer myself up with my new goodies. And how could I resist using such fun and bright colours...not my usual style at all. (Do I actually have a style? hmmm- not sure!)

As well as a few more stamps I got some bargain Quickutz dies, only £1.99 so I treated myself to a few "extras " like the photo corners and another fastener (that makes my third now!) a little tag and a lacey thing(!)

Isn't it funny how an image can inspire such motivation for colour!! Or am I alone in my own mad world?
