Fashion Friday: Styles we covet

Friday, November 19, 2010

I mentioned yesterday about my recent thrift store excursion and that I scored at Goodwill for the first time in a long time. I have a longer post coming about the clothing but today I wanted to mention one item I bought that struck a chord with me. This bag...

I have something of a bag issue when it comes to fashion. I just love bags. I like having bags for all occasions and when you buy them at thrift stores you can afford to have LOTS ;) But the reason I wanted this bag goes beyond just liking it. This bag epitomizes all things "girly" for me. something regular readers know I am struggling to bring into my life. I love the shape, the style, the off-the-shoulder look and mostly I think it's this:

I just know that Bob is going to be reading this and thinking "who are you, and what have you done with my wife?"! You see I abhor bling! I don't like sparkly, but this, I admit, I kinda like! Does this mean the 'girl' gene in me is getting switched on? lol!

For me this bag represents a group of women we all look at and hate for being 'perfect'. You KNOW the ones I mean right? All huddled together, shopping in the mall, perfect hourglass figures, pert boobs and butts, legs to die for, awesome hair/teeth/make-up, confidence in bucketloads and always toting a bag like this. The ones who look like they roll out of bed looking better than I'd ever appear even if professionals gave me a makeover! Those women. Mrs/Ms perfect.

I'm never gonna have the perfect ass, boobs, make-up, teeth, wardrobe, or the confidence that those chicks have, but godamnit I have their bag!

---------------------------------------

Oh and for those wondering, here is the price I paid for the bag, and in fact all bags I've bought at Goodwill as they are all one set price ;)

Suck on that Mrs Perfect!

Thrifty Thursday: crafty finds edition

Thursday, November 18, 2010

So as regular readers know I'm more than a little obsessed with thrift stores. I do the majority of my clothes shopping at thrift stores. LOVE THEM. I like the feeling like I'm getting a bargain, doing my bit for the environment but mainly it's the thrill of the chase. I'm the great hunter, tracking down that one thing in the store that's there for me! If you're a thrifter like me you'll know sometimes you find a ton of stuff, other times you leave empty handed, but on occasion you find true treasures!

Tuesday I had a few errands to run, grocery shopping to do, and while I was out I figured why not stop by the thrift stores? I was passing by anyway it seems rude not to stop in. So I stopped by Goodwill (more details on that trip next week) and Simi Thrift Store. When in Simi Thrift I did something I don't normally do, I looked around the non-clothes section. The housewares etc. On a high shelf I spotted some photo albums and then this...

Another album? Maybe? Pretty cover though! I reached up to get it off the shelf for further inspection. Wouldn't open up, then I noticed this....

A clasp? Weird for a photo album no? So I slipped the clasp open and it unfolded like a book :)

It's a keepsake card holder. There are a couple of spots on the right for cards the slip of paper says and a ribbon holding the left side shut. Obviously I took a look!

Nice big space for larger cards? But really what do you see? Is it the same as me? I see POTENTIAL!!!! Totally digging the boxers for cards! But really the options are endless right? We crafters see beyond the original use for things don't we ;)

There was a loose price tag on the item which read $1.98 which I was sure wasn't the right price. But I took it to the desk to ask. The lady behind the counter said that she'd have to ask as the price sticker wasn't attached securely and may not be on the correct item. I did make sure to point out some damage on the front cover....

But we crafters can cover up things like that! I'm thinking a metal photo corner would cover that nicely! If not, it's "distressed" already right?

She asked her boss and her boss came back with a price.....

Did I still want it? Heck yes! $3 for this flocked fabric card holder box thing? Yes please! Now what to do with it? My immediate thoughts were for a Wedding keepsake box for all our wedding memorabilia back in 1998.

Just posting this to say that thrift stores are MORE than clothes and furniture! Go see what you can get to alter!

What would you do with it?

It's fairly big 12" high, 9" wide and 4" deep (when closed).

Thrifty Thursday: shoes

Thursday, October 21, 2010

So I was absent with a Thrifty Thursday post last week, mostly because I was sick last Tuesday with some weird 24hr stomach bug that just knocked me off my feet. I can handle most illnesses my body throws at me but vomiting is not one of them, I need my food! Anyway making up for it as on the Thursday last week I took a trip to both thrift stores here in town and got a nice haul of goodies to share over the upcoming weeks! Today though, I want to share these shoes I bought for $3.98 at our local thrift store.

I've always loved "clunky" shoes. From Dr Martin boots, to platforms, wedge heels and anything with a good solid heel/sole. Another thing I love is a more rounded toe rather than pointy toe, I don't like my toes getting squidged. So when I saw these shoes at the local thrift store I figured I'd check if they were my size, and man made materials (I don't wear leather). And SCORE they checked out on both counts, so I tried them on and quickly added them to my cart!

Brown leather look clunky style shoe, with a faux strap and little zip on the inside for a snugger fit. These will work well for when I want the look of a boot under trousers/jeans but not the bulk. Honestly at under $4 how could I NOT buy them? They are in such good shape with LOTS of life left in them still! I guess they'd work well with skirts too?

After I got them home and rubbed off the sale price from the heel I noticed that these are Sketchers shoes! For those not in the know, Sketches shoes usually retail around $45 a pair! Double SCORE!

The only downside is that they are quite heavy, not something I am used to, and they irritated my plantar fasciitis when I wore them at the weekend :( Guessing a combination of the weight of the shoe and the heel height, so I am going to get some cushioned inserts and break them in gently. Either way, worth the $4 investment and a good reminder that you can pick up high street brands for a fraction of the cost at thrift stores!

Coming up soon: t-shirts galore! My t-shirt haul at Goodwill!

Thrifty Thursday: Household

Thursday, September 23, 2010

I guess I should preface this post by saying that I am so for handwashing dishes, if I had the time I'd definitely handwash however with my schedule right now it's impossible so dishwasher it is. That said being the environmentally conscious person I am I've been buying the "green" versions of cleaners/toiletries but lately they haven't been measuring up, especially the dishwasher detergent. We've used Trader Joes dishwasher detergent for a long time but I got sick and tired of reloading dishes back in that hadn't gotten washed properly :( We cleaned out the dishwasher and tried some new settings but still no 100% clean, how environmentally friendly is it if I am using 2x the detergent and energy having to rewash everything? Plus it's very uneconomical! Time for a change I think! So on a recent trip to Vons I switched

I bought whatever was on offer ;) which turned out to be Finish GelPacs, which were buy one get one free. In the end this turned out cheaper than the Trader Joes detergent. Anyway I got home and fired up the dishwasher, same settings we'd been using recently and WOW. Couldn't believe the difference!

Sure I'd like them to be more environmentally friendly but I haven't found one that cleans as well. By making this switch I am saving time, energy and money. so for now I am switching to Finish. Dishes are cleaner, no residue and our bank account is happier. In all you have to look for a compromise with some things.

This revelation has changed our household in that I also bought some 'non environmentally friendly' laundry detergent today. My workout clothes have been suffering a beating lately with 1/2 marathon training, spin classes and other intensive workouts and I haven't been happy with our current laundry detergent. So we're switching that too. I'll let you know how that goes!

What about you readers? Do you use environmentally friendly products? Or regular cleaners? How do they fair in your household? What's you're favorite?

Thrifty Thursday: make-up finds

Thursday, September 16, 2010

So lately friends may have noticed I've been trying to get more 'girly', having been a tomboy for most of my life this is pretty new. Especially considering since 1995 I pretty much work workout clothing 24-7 due to my job (and again now I am back into fitness as a profession). But this time I am trying to make more of a separation between personal and business and the way to do that is cosmetics and girly clothes.

I wear make-up for work obviously (just foundation, powder and mascara usually) but during nights out I am trying to get past my brown eyeshadows and dark rose lipstick. Heck I am even pushing the boat out with nailpolish on occasion (ok ONCE so far!). I guess the point is that for someone experimenting with make-up it can get pretty pricey! I love Clinique and Body Shop products but for experiments they are out my price range. I know there are cheaper brands but I am a stickler for companies that don't test on animals and most of the cheaper brands do (I used to buy a lot of Rimmel in my teens and they test on animals so beware!). Anyway in my shopping trips recently I came across two brands that don't test on animals are really help with those on a budget so I thought I'd share!

Eyes lips face cosmetics or E.L.F are a brand that is new to me but I love that they are available at Target! Pretty much all Americans live near a Target right? lol! Anyway this brand of cosmetics is not tested on animals which is a huge plus for me, and with prices starting at just $1 definitely for the thrift shopper in me!!! I bought a few things from their range at Target, afterall at that price what's not to like? All the products below were just $1 each, except the lipstain in the black packaging which was $2.50 in their more deluxe range I guess?

I haven't tried ALL the products yet, but I have tried a few.
  • The powder compact  works well but you only need a little as it's quite heavy! A little goes a LONG way with this compact!
  • Eyebrow brush I bought cos I needed one for my mascara which is hitting the end of it's life and getting a little thick. Nice brush for $1 works well
  • Eyebrow and Eyelash gel. Basically a clear coat for your eyebrows or lashes. Can be applied over mascara for a wet look. I like this for taming eyebrows ;)
  • Lip stain, ironically at the highest price it's the item I liked least. Not enough color coverage and I don't like the gel feeling of the gloss. Maybe it's something that will grow on me? The color on looks nothing like the bottle so if you buy one go darker! Unless you want subtle color?
  • Mascara (not shown). I got the dual mascara which has a regular and waterproof end. I like it but it's a little thick, so a brush is recommended to separate the lashes. Or a tip I was told was to drag the brush through a tissue to remove the clumps. This worked for me. Great for keeping in your purse/bag though for touch ups due to it's small size. I prefer Clinique mascara though!
  • Liquid Eyeliner, LOVE this product! (Again not shown in the photo). I love this because the applicator is like a marker pen, which makes it super easy to apply. Back in the early 90's I use liquid liner with those thin brush applicators which went everywhere, these are so much better! And just a buck too!
  • Eyelash curlers, have to say I have pretty long eyelashes anyway but for $1.50 I figured I'd get a set. Haven't mastered the technique for these yet, still learning to be girly like I said! Any tips appreciated!!!
All in all so far I am pretty impressed with this brand., especially considering the price! I still have a load more products to try and will probably check Target every month or so for more great finds! Definitely try them out, for a buck what do you have to lose? Plus some e.l.f products are available on Amazon for those that prefer to mail order :)

New York Color or NYC are another brand I found recently at both CVS and WalMart stores (though they are probably in many more pharmacy type stores like Walgreens etc). Like ELF they are against animal testing and are pretty cheap for the budget conscious. Their prices range from $1 upwards and they do a whole range of cosmetics and tools. When I was looking for a nail polish last year this was the brand I chose (due to color choice & price mostly) so I was happy to see the range expanded at our local WalMart. I picked up a few things to try including loose powder, color correcting concealer and nail polishes. The prices for these were between $1.50 - $5 each which honestly I thought was pretty reasonable.

I've only tried their nail polish (fast drying ones at $2 each) and they are pretty good! Great color coverage, and dries in minutes. I also tried their lip gloss which was pretty good too, not sticky like some. Plus some N.Y.C products are avaible on Amazon

Anyway check these out next time you are looking for cosmetics. Each is pretty reasonably priced and keeps animals happy!

Thrifty Thursday: goodwill finds

Thursday, August 26, 2010

Thrifty Thursdays will be a regular feature as there is nothing much I love more than traipsing round thrift stores for bargains. Recent bargains for August are this black bag and shoes found at Goodwill. The thing I like about Goodwill is pretty much everything is the same price. Shoes are $2.99 Boots are a set price, belts a all a set price, and bags all one price. Makes it super easy to shop, plus no tag marks.

The bag was $2.99 and is just an over the shoulder bag with adjustable strap. The strap doesn't alter much but it could go shorter as a clutch or handbag rather than over the shoulder I guess. More importantly it's non-leather, important for us Vegetarians!

The best bargain though was the shoes! I LOVE these shoes! Super happy I decided to pop into Goodwill this day. They are 1/2 size too big according to the inside print but they fit just perfectly, guess they were sized small. I like the stitching detail (same on bag), the peep toe (good for showing off pedi and nail polish unlike my toes in photo) and I love that they are versatile wearable with skirts/shorts and jeans/pants.

Have you picked up any bargains lately?

Sewing - quick project bean bags

Tuesday, February 16, 2010

I finally got around to making a sewing project! More out of necessity than choice but hey whatever works right? Basically we took the dogs to the vet and discovered what we already knew, the dogs are overweight. Too much good food and treats since Thanksgiving took there toll, and they need to lose around 10lbs. I already had them on a diet, and increased their walks and was looking for more ways for them to get active and remembered we have doggy backpacks! All I needed for them to work harder was some weights and that's where BEANBAGS come into play.

We wanted something soft and pliable cos Sky doesn't quite get that she's wider with the backpack on and every wall on the walk gets a scraping as she passes by! Not suitable for tins of veggies for sure! So I used some material from my stash, some dried beans from the Dollartree and got to work on my sewing machine & Serger.

I made 2x1lb bags, and 8 1/2lb bags, right now they are up to carrying 1lb in each side (so 2lbs each) and I hope to increase that every week until they get to around 5-6lbs and then reevaluate.Dogs can carry up to 25% of their body weight (some more when in peak condition) so maximum they should carry is around 12 lbs (ideal weight is around 45-50lbs).

As you can see below, the dogs don't really care either way about walkies with or without their backpacks, as long as they get to go! Sky for some reason associates the backpack with going camping in the RV, not sure why as we never took the backpacks before? Maybe she's just sense that's what they are for? I dunno *shrug*

For anyone wanting a quick tutorial on beanbags I put together a tutorial below, they are super easy to make. The 9"x7" fits 1/2lb nicely with room for seam allowances and the turn down hem once filled.

Hoping to get to more sewing projects soon!!!

Thrifty Thursday

Thursday, December 10, 2009

I was unsure at first what I was going to blog about for this weeks thrifty Thursday as I thought I'd caught up with all my current thrifty finds and I haven't been shopping at the thrift stores for a while. However I sat down to schedule some blog posts and realized I was wearing an item I'd not blogged about so I knew there had to be more!

First up is this light weight hoody by Forever 21, cost me 99c at Simi Thrift Store. It's got more of a deep V-neck than I like but it looks ok over a tank or similar. It's super soft and great for post yoga sweats :)

Next a short sleeve sweater: Unknown manufacturer cost 99c at Simi Thrift store. Love the stripes. Wish it was long sleeve, but perfect for around the house wear in winter!

Next up is a peasant style top from Forever21, again cost 99c from Simi Thrift. This was one of those "buy something outside your box" things. I don't really go for pink or this style but I like it on more than on the hanger. Needs a strapless bra though. Cunningly hid exposed bra straps with mop of hair :)

Next is this lightweightbrown jacket I mentioned last week but never got a photo of. Paid $1.98 at Simi Thrift. Really wasn't 100% sure on this, might take it in a little at the side, but works well with casual wear like t-shirts and my khaki cords. I actually wore it Wednesday for lunch out with the girls. Ignore the expression on my face here, no idea what that is all about, lol!

And with that I think we're caught up on missing thrifty items in my closet. I haven't been thrifting lately so I am due to go again soon so stay tuned for more thrift store updates! Have you been thrifting lately? Got any bargains to show?

Sew Saturday

Saturday, December 5, 2009

So I bought this jacket from the thrift store a few weeks back, but hadn't worn it because the top pockets would NOT lie flat. Pain in the butt they were, no amount of ironing or steaming was getting those suckers to stay in place, so I resorted to needle and thread! You can see the jacket below, with the flipped up pockets.

Using some items from my sewing stash I now have perfectly flat pockets that I'm sure you'll agree look a million times better! Just having that one thing irritating you about a piece of clothing can really ruin the whole outfit.

Nope I didn't sew the pocket closed! I simply added press studs! Just sewing two on each pocket really made all the difference to the pockets and the jacket as a whole! Amazing those small differences!

Here's the jacket after the flap attack. Looks much better huh? Also looks better with a solid color underneath I think, makes all the difference :)

Next project: Altering the hem on a pair of white cords. I picked up a pair at the thrift store that were 'long' but hey they fit in every other way, so I figure I'd just hack off the legs and hem them up :) Wish me luck!

Thrifty Thursday

Thursday, December 3, 2009

I've been thrifting recently, trying to pick up new clothes at rock bottom prices, expanding my wardrobe and trying to expand my fashion style at the same time. Sometimes you have to just be at the thrift store at the right time to get bargains, other times there are tons and you want everything, and on the flipside occasionally you walk away with nothing. It's all part of the game you play when you thrift. I think that's why I like it so much, though it can make or break my afternoon, lol! Recent thrifty purchases include the following items:

Brown Lightwight Jacket*: Unknown. Paid $1.98 at Simi Thrift. Really wasn't 100% sure on this, might take it in a little at the side, but works well with casual wear like t-shirts and my khaki cords. *didn't get a pic of this afterall*

Blue stripey blouse: SO. Should have cost $2.49 but I had a credit to use at Goodwill so cost me nothing :) I almost bought a similar style shirt but was black with skulls on it, however it was a tad too small in the bust (hahaha I know go on laugh it up!)

Pink boob tube style top: Abercrombie & Fitch. Paid $1.99 at Simi thrift store. Wasn't 100% when I picked this up, it's PINK afterall and I have an aversion to pink, but I figured no go outside the box at least try it on! Fits great and it's a size Extra small :) Not that keen on the color, blends in too much with my skin for my liking, maybe I'll dye it? Thinking blue or maybe red? Wasn't sold on the style at first but I like it now.

Coke t-shirt: Unknown. Cost 99c at Simi thrift store. What can I say? It's a classic! How can I not buy a classic? I have managed to snag it already though, definitely wasn't snagged when I bought it, might have happened whilst on vacation *sigh* gonna try and restrict the damage, still wearable either way cos it's meant to be distressed right? right?

Dress: Unknown (think it's from Target). Cost $2.98 at Simi Thrift Store. Fits like a glove (snug but that means it'll stay up!), and it's reversible! Bonus! Bit of a loud print for me, but nice and summery.

Favorite top: Charlotte Russo. Cost 99c at Simi Thrift store. Just some elastic holding it up but fits great and quite slimming I think? The weird hemline almost made me not buy it but for 99c I figured what the hell. Already worn it out once so worth it in the end I guess.

I also bought a plain brown tee for 99c but seemed a little pointless adding a pic of a plain brown tee-shirt. We all know what they look like :) Bargain at 99c :)

One thing is abundantely clear, I need a good fitting strapless bra..The one I currently own does not fit properly at all! Thank heavens I have a couple of coupons for Victoria's Secret :) Thinking a nude strapless (or convertible to strapless) and a couple of everyday bras.

The other thing I need to buy are a couple of kids coats to alter into dog coats. I'd love to find a couple of parker coats or padded ski jackets for under $5 each, wish me luck on my next thrifting trip!!!

Thrity Thursday

Thursday, November 19, 2009

Well I've had a couple of Thrifting trips recently that I haven't blogged about, and I'm sure I'm missing some items of clothing in this update but what the heck! Lately I've been trying to get out of my usual t-shirt phase and get some other tops to wear. Well I certainly did that with these tops! The first one was one that was hung on the front of the rack at the thrift store, and initially I walked past it thinking it was a bit 'loud'. The pattern itself isn't bad it's the fact that it has rhinestones on it. But I figured no, try it on, push yourself outside your box! I actually like the fit, but it's a litte on the revealing side as I can't wear a bra with it due to the style. It only cost a dollar though ;)

*Ignore the jeans, I couldn't be bothered to put a belt on and these Jeans are a size or two too big*

I have been looking out for halter style tops since I bought a brown one I loved a few months ago. This one I think it pretty springy but will also be good for summer. Really not sure about the softer color pallette, but again for a dollar I wasn't going to pass it up. I really like the length on this top too, and it's very comfortable!

The next one I nearly didn't buy. It's a barely there top by Forever21 and cost me $2. I like it but man there isn't much to it! Again it's braless, no other option with the totally open back! I do need another person to tie me up in it though as I can't seem to line the straps up properly myself, hence it's a little wonky.

This next pic is a two-fer. The stripey top is one I really didn't like that much when I tried it on, but for a buck I can wear it round the house. It's short sleeve with a hood. Not sure what's with that lately, I bought a pink one similar to it a few months back. The jacket cost me $4 but I like it alot! It's a light blue corduory jacket and looks great with jeans. My only beef with it is the lapel pockets which won't lie flat. I think I'll be sewing some press studs on there to keep them down. On a side note, don't think I'll be wearing this top and jacket together.

And finally a handbag I got just before I got the flu, it was $3. I've been looking for some black boots to match but no luck so far. Still that's an excuse for more shopping right?

Well like I said I think I missed a few items, especially stuff I plan on refashioning but you'll see those at a later date ;)

Thrifty Thursday

Thursday, October 22, 2009

If you've been paying attention to the blog recently you'll see this is a recurring theme. I LOVE thrifting what can I say? Where else could you get almost new (and sometimes brand new) clothing for a buck or two a piece? Anyway today I just wanted to share some tips that I've picked up for thrifting.
  • Check out your yellow pages or google search for stores in your area. Not all of them are in the yellow pages so ask friends too. You'd be surprised at the people you know that go thrifting!
  • Once in the store check around for opening hours, and discount days. I've mentioned before but ours seems to be Friday and weekends that specials run. Goodwill has regular discount Fridays on different items, our other thrift store seems to cycle through sales (womens, kids, shoes etc).
  • Try everything on. Whilst Goodwill does do refunds you only get store credit (at least that is the case in our area). Our other store doesn't do refunds BUT they have a changing area to try on clothes. I ALWAYS try on clothes, unless they are same brand/size/style to something I already own. Just because you are a size 4 in one brand does equal size 4 in all brands!!!
  • Check the item carefully. Sometimes there is a reason things are at the thrift store. 90% of the time it's just because the previous owner grew tired of them, or outgrew them, but that other 10% is tat with rips, tears and weirdness of all types! Check, check, then check again! This includes: zips, underarms (look for discoloring, pilling or rips), check backs of t-shirts for print (some companies print business info on the back only) etc.
  • Know the prices. Goodwill prices every item of a certain price the same, long sleeve tops will all be the same price, short sleeve tops all the same etc. Other thrift stores price items individually. I prefer the latter. Items should be priced per item IMO, not all clothing is created equal or worth the same $$.
  • Remember just because it's cheap doesn't mean you have to buy it, or buy everything in your size! Will you really wear everything you have in your basket? If the answer is no then put it back!!! The idea is to reduce the landfill items, save yourself money and help out a charity at the same time but if things are just going to clutter your house then step away and put it back.
  • Thrifting is a great way to add accessories to an existing wardrobe. Whether scarves, bags or shoes all can be found at the thrift store. If you are unsure about shoes, just remember that each pair you buy regularly in a store has been tried on probably 30-40 times easily till you popped them on and decided to buy them. Especially true of a place like Target where all the shoes are out on display instead of in the back store. So what's the difference? Plus for boots etc you can buy insoles if you are squeamish!
  • Like all good stores go often. The stock changes a lot as people bring in new stuff. I try and check ours out once a week or at least once every other week. Some weeks I come away with nothing, sometimes I hit the mother load :) Think of it like a garage sale, one mans trash is another mans treasure!

Thrity Thursday :)

Thursday, October 15, 2009

I've been thrifting again! Pretty much haven't told you about the last two thrifting trips so here is a quick round up post. I went two weeks ago to find 25% off all clothing and shoes, so I got a two pairs of jeans and some tops. One of the jeans were Calvin Klein jeans, and only cost me $3! Bargain. I got a big load of t-shirts that trip that were all Misses size small! They fit great though, really shows that the Womens M/S I have are really baggy. Anyway I think I may be set for t-shirts for a while, but hey winter is coming right and it's all about layers! lol!

Me in the Calvin Klein size 3 jeans and So t-shirt.

My last trip to the thrift store was last Friday. I popped in on the way to grocery shopping. Wasn't really looking for anything in particular, just a quick browse. BUT they had a notice up stating 50% off women's clothes! How could I NOT buy anything??? I ended up with 2 pairs of pants, a cardigan, a sweater and a couple of t-shirts. Really looking for a winter jacket to wear whilst walking the dogs. The snowboard jacket that I usually wear has always been big (it's mens small as I recall), but now it totally buries me!

All this for $7, bargain city!

I really wasn't sure about the cardigan, I have one similar that is plainer no fluffies and zip up, but when I saw the 50% off that made it just $1! How could I NOT buy it? If I wear it once I'll be happy. Though I wear my other one a lot. I figure this one is a bit dressier with the fluffies. It's just a wool trim but for me, it's quite girly! The tees are all Misses/Jnrs again. GreenDay one rocks, love GreenDay and with 50% off it was just 50c lol! I like the brown monkey one, will be good with jeans around the house, and the bottom one is a music themed tee, again I like it. For 50c each worth buying I think! The white pants are cords, teeny bit too long but hey for $2 I can get handy with a sewing machine!

Oh and as an aside. The jeans/pants I bought recently are a size 3! Though one pair is from Old Navy and a size 2, maybe they are sized big? I dunno! Just goes to show you always need to try clothes on! In one brand you are a 4, others a 3, and others a 2! Crazy!
