Various Artists ‎– "Axis Sally" (Broken Flag ‎– BF8) 1983

Axis Sally, for those who didn't know (Or care?),which is most everybody; was the female version of Lord Haw Haw on the Nazi English language propaganda service during world war two.......and you thought this might be a Broken Flag release without any reference to right wing politics in Germany.......well, you were wrong.
Then we look at the track list and see that every track has some reference at least to Nazi's or right wing twits like Senator Joe McCarthy.
Axis Sally, like Lord Haw Haw ,was American......ahh the 'special relationship' between Britain and the USA  rears its non-existent head once more. But at least we (the Brits) got to hang Lord Haw Haw, whereas Axis Sally escaped the Gallows, as many other 'top' Nazis did thanks to a concept of American Justice that has now disappeared.
All this Nazi, Murderer, Sadism stuff ,is designed to confront ourselves with the part of ourselves we would rather not admit to;and to a certain extent it works.Sadly Like when Donald Trump said "You won't find anyone less Racist than me",few people are comfortable at being confronted by this side to their character.
However, these tapes are preaching to the converted, and I doubt Trump and his dim-witted followers would be interested in listening to banks of squealing synths and barked distorted couplets about Nazis....Trump supporters think they aren't Nazis,so this would put them off immediately. Put all this stuff over a country and Western track instead of skin blistering noise, then they may pay attention.....as long as its in short bursts like TV ads,as they have the attention spans of goldfish with Alzheimers.

Various Artists ‎– "Trial By Ordeal" (Broken Flag ‎– BF 31) 1983

Trial by Ordeal was the preferred method of finding out if that old hag from the shitty end of the village really was a witch. If she survived being held underwater for an inordinate length of time she was obviously a Witch and would therefore have to be burnt at the Stake...which apparently witches could not survive.
This tape is something similar, and if you survive sixty minutes of MORE Industrial sameness then you should probably self-immolate yourself before the Witchfinder general,or the Police, ring your novelty doorbell.
That said, probably the best way to listen to Industrial Noise is in the form of a compilation.Even in the Industrial corner that many acts have painted themselves into, there are subtly different shades of conformity available.Luckily we have Giancarlos Toniutti to provide some pretentious avant garde noise in between the balls to the wall stuff from fellow I-tie  Mauthausen Orchestra and Whitehouse copyists Ramleh. The other Italian act on the list LXSS (or Laxative Souls), also provide some welcome respite with some gentle echo laden Industrial Percussion.
So, all-in-all, as Industrial comps go,this is a less dull one.

Tracklist:

A1 –Giancarlo Toniutti - Some Fibres 5:55
A2 –Ramleh - Emaciator [1982] 3:58

Ramleh ‎– "Hole In The Heart" (Broken Flag ‎– BF 59) 1987

The first time I saw a 'Punk' was in that silly comic the 'Daily Mirror', and I thought they looked how I feel. Then I heard some Punk records, and it sounded just like a slightly faster Slade but with shouty vocals; though there still isn't a punk singer who could compete with Noddy Holder's noble lungs for sheer stone penetrating volume.
The 'Punks' banged on about 'No Future',and I thought, now we're getting somewhere. But they didn't mean it. No Future for them meant No Jobs,Nothing to do and No Money!?......so, I deduced, if these 'Punks' had a nice well paid job in a bank, and a discotheque to go to on Saturday night, everything would be hunky dory?........not!
Alas, Punk Rock was a gateway cult to more interesting and honest territories, like Industrial music.
Which offered No Hope instead of No Future. A job and money in the pocket wasn't the answer to modern 'civilisations' deep seated unhappiness. They presented the world/life as it is, pointless, cruel, ruthless ,tormented.....the list goes on.
To Quote from Genesis (p. Orridge, not the absurd opening book of the Bible), 1, "This is the music of Hopelessness", and 2. "Rock is for Arse Lickers".

As for this cassette from 1987 by Ramleh.
It's another field recording of modern living, in all its self-consuming stupidity.

A1 Spear Flowers
A2 Hole In The Heart
B1 Product Of Fear
B2 Grazing On Fear2

Ramleh ‎– "Onslaught" (Iphar ‎– 010) 1982

Ramleh bring you more soundtracks from a post apocalyptic Earth. The sound of radiation burns and cannibalism, in an ensuing nuclear winter of the near future.
One of the few descriptions of hell from that best selling guide to genocide, misogyny.homophobia, and gang rape; called the 'Bible.....,said, "A wailing and a gnashing of teeth"(?). This  inadequate image of eternal punishment(?),-punishment for what I don't know-, is fully fleshed out by listening to 'Onslaught' a few times. Except this 'Hell' isn't a mythical creation that served to control simpletons and frighten the shit out of children. Ramleh's 'Hell' is very much terrestrial, and we live in it everyday.

Tracklist:

A1 Emaciator
A2 Onslaught
A3 Insecticide
A4 Phenol
B1 Emaciator Mix
B2 Insecticide Mix
B3 Phenol Mix

Ramleh ‎– "31/5/1962 - 1982" (Broken Flag ‎– BF1) 1982

Isn't that Adolf Eichmann, the epitome of 'The Banality of Evil'(H.Arendt 1963) on the cover? Oh the Banality of Nazi Imagery on Industrial Cassettes.
The title is a reference to the day the desk bound book-clerk of genocide was sentenced to hang. Which, in a very inefficient non-Eichmann way, is incorrect; because it was delayed long enough for the sentence to be carried out on the 1st of June instead.
Eichmann's defense was that he was just doing his job, and was only obeying the law of the sovereign state in which he worked.Which I suppose is quite true?
In fact ,it can be argued that he didn't even contravene any existing international law at the time of his actions.'Crimes against Humanity' and 'Genocide' were only crimes retroactively.
Also, Adolf was diagnosed as being officially saner than you or me by a fleet of shrinks. What this episode in legal history tells us is that, Nazi's were all too Human, and the real Monsters on this planet are the Human race as a whole, with a small, silent, 'W' at the beginning. It clearly doesn't take much for any of us, despite what you may think of yourself, to implicate ourselves in the most monstrous crimes, no matter how much you can justify your blameless existence to yourself. Lord knows I have met endless numbers of Little Eichmann's in the offices and institutions of England and France over the years to know that this is true.
The best way to avoid being tried for war crimes in the future is Don't get an office job.Evil can really be that Banal!

Ramleh effortlessly capture the Banal horror of the hidden human animal in electronic circuit fried versions of scraping ones finger nails down a sonic blackboard; before having them pulled out by a balding ,bespectacled office clerk.

Tracklist:

A1 Suction 3:03
A2 Throatsuck 5:39
A3 Deathtoll 4:08
B1 Ramleh 5:10
B2 May 31 9:38
B3 1962 8:54

Ramleh ‎– "Pumping" (Broken Flag ‎– BF 70) 1987

Ramleh's foray into the sub-genre of Ambient Industrial Noise makes for an intriguing listening experience. The usual,(and incredibly boring and overused) themes of Nazi's, pervy Sex, murder, and Nazi's; are ,if not totally absent here, very very subtle. Being desensitized to harsh in yer face bowel scraping Noise, its a welcome relief to listen to the more ambient side of Power Electronics, if that's what this is? The Noise seems thankfully distant, as if the (alleged) gas chambers of Treblinka were chugging away at the end of a twenty kilometer tunnel.
Holocaust Revisionists insist that the engine used at Treblinka to kill 800,000 Jews, was from a captured Soviet Tank, and wouldn't kill anyone because it ran on Diesel. This has been proven to be crap, especially if pumped into a confined space, check it out here.
So, imagine being in a gas chamber, with  hundreds of Homosexuals, Socialists,Illegal Immigrants and Atheists while Donald Trump, Marine Le Pen,Norbert Hoffer and Nigel Farage pump in the Diesel fumes, This is pretty much the soundtrack to that joyful experience. It'd probably be worth it to get away from that bunch of sickening populist cunts. They might not be the 'Enemies Of The People', as the Judges that ruled against the Govt in the UK recently were branded by the popular press(surprisingly similar to a headline in a German Nazi supporting newspaper from 1933, see that HERE!); but they certainly are Enemies of People.Stop these fuckers before its too late.
Ramleh make the folk music for today's fucked up planet.

Kleistwahr ‎– "Do Not" (Broken Flag ‎– BF 52) 1986

This outing from Gary Mundy's (Ramleh) side project Kleistwahr, is a rather interesting Musique concrète noise fest that sounds, for the most part, like a needle stuck in the run-out groove of a German marching song LP. Probably inspired by some early Boyd Rice.
This repetitive lock groove onslaught is punctuated by the obligatory speech samples  and bursts of harsh, if not paint stripping, noise. The subtler and more experimental side of Mundy's projects; and one, which I may add, of the more preferable.

Rockwell ‎– "Hate" (Broken Flag ‎– BF 9) 1983

In 1983 Industrial Noise groups were running out of far right racists to overlay their fuzzy squeals and amplified static with. So naturally they began to scrape the bottom of the barrel, hence, here we have some noise overdubbed with a speech by the now assassinated leader of the American Nazi Party, George Lincoln Rockwell
He was reasonably articulate(which always passes for intelligence), and argued for racial segregation, whilst naturally asserting that he wasn't racist at all. He proudly boasted of his 'Hate' for traitors to the American nation, which usually meant Jews, and to a lesser extent Blacks. He even owned a van daubed with White Supremacist slogans and Swastikas, to drive to his increasingly rare speech engagements, which he even called "The Hate Bus",(Which was eventually repossessed after missed finance payments).
Amazingly, this idiot, was also a DIY music pioneer, when he started his own record label called, catchily  , "Hatenanny Records", back in the year of my birth, 1964.
Rockwell, the group, was basically Ramleh, but running scared of having their name being labelled as racist, Gary Mundy insisted that it was released under a pseudonym.........however the later re-release was listed as being by Ramleh.
Anyone who bought records by these power electronic shock groups, would not have raised an eyebrow at the content in the slightest; and Mr and Mrs Joe Public would not have listened long enough to get to the start of the speech to form an opinion......well, Mr and Mrs Joe Public are generally as racist as Mr Rockwell anyway, so they'd probably agree rather than be outraged.
The dodgy simplistic politics of George Rockwell is making a comeback these days, appealing to the emotions rather than giving any actual answers. That primary emotion is 'Hate', which has never solved any problems. Exploiting fear, and finger pointing elsewhere to find scapegoats.
Its music like this that truly encapsulates this ugly truth about modern humanity, and, I hasten to add, it isn't exclusively White!
It's essential that one confronts these uncomfortable taboo's ,or we will have no chance of curing them. So Rockwell/Ramleh are your therapists for tonight.......feel the Hate, so you can discover what Love is.

Male Rape Group - "On to 83" (Broken Flag BF05) 1983

Mmmmm, nice!?
Here we have the charmingly christened ‘Male Rape Group’.Not surprisingly containing Philip Best, no stranger to Taboo challenging and liberal baiting releases like the "White Power" compilation, and the subject matter of his Consumer Electronics/Ramleh tapes.
A sense of humour is prevalent in almost all areas of life in the British Isles, but this seems to have been forgotten when it comes to making Industrial music. Although that other British trait, repressed anger, is here in bucket loads. A Power Electronics ‘supergroup’ ,containing early Whitehouse member, and consumer Electronics / Ramleh geezer Philip Best, with the founder of Ramleh and Mr Broken Flag records himself, Gary Mundy. Its the standard Come Organisation style racket ,of skin peeling overloaded electronics and distorted screamed vocals; no doubt screeching about forced non consensual anal sex, murder or Nazi’s. The perpetrators would no doubt be wearing leather trousers, the odd jackbooted synth abuser standing in the background, and appear to be thoroughly unpleasant chaps. The object of the music, would not be to confront the listener with uncomfortable truths, as they would have us believe; but rather to shock,in an increasingly unshockable world; because they can! There are probably millions of people who would be shocked by this, their plebeian sensibilities offended, leading to angry reactions, and gross acts of violence. This stuff could actually cause a drunken mob of outraged proletarians to start burning books, and opening exhibitions of degenerate art. Then there are the fans who misunderstand this music so much that they begin to believe in what these fellows shout and scream about. Although ideologically dodgy, this 23 minute opus is a very enjoyable, even cathartic, experience; if you like that kind of thing.
Play it loud,once.

Ramleh ‎– "We Created It, Let's Take It Over Vol 3" (Pure Records) 1995/1983

Here is the last volume of Ramleh's early years, which in this instance is virtually a reissue of the "Hand of Glory" ep from 1983, plus a live performance tacked on at the end. The Hand of Glory stuff is a pretty accurate portrayal of Industrialised slavery. This is the sound of the horrible machine that we are trapped in the belly of. Plenty of disembodied screams from the dead souls of industrial hostages of the past, skewered by the screeching microwaves of the modern 'smart'(dumb) phone era, rearranging the DNA strands in your brain. Play this music loud enough and you will cancel out the world outside, like matter and anti matter.

Ramleh ‎– "We Created It, Let's Take It Over Vol 2" (Pure Records) 1995/1982

If you enjoy sounds like swarms of savage bees fed through a cheap distortion pedal, accompanied by screaming hostages locked in a cellar, with lashings of blunt drill bits ripping through rusty plate steel? Then this is definitely for you. Or, why not spend an hour or so making it yourself? All you need is a crap microphone, a crapper synthesiser, one distortion pedal, one echo/delay unit, and a recording device. Maybe the odd piece of dialogue recorded from some documentary about Nazi's to be interspersed here and there ,feed it all through a cheapo mixer, and twist the eq's a lot.Photocopy a couple of pictures of B-list Nazi's, call your songs after the most obscure concentration camp you can find on the internet, and scream lyrics about the Moors Murderers until you bust a blood vessel. Instant Industrial style power electronics. If you don't want your neighbours to think you are a latent raving serial killer, then maybe you should just content yourself with downloading some stuff that was made thirty years ago. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Ramleh's greatest cassette Hiss, volume two.

Ramleh ‎– "We Created It, Let's Take It Over Vol 1" (Pure Records) 1995/1982

Ramleh;- Noise Super group combination of Kleistwahr, Consumer Electronics, and Whitehouse members; but then again aren't all these people in every Power Electronics/noise band from the early eighties? Listening to their records, you could easily be mistaken to think they are all the same record anyway!? Taken in isolation, these works are superb damaged pieces of dysfunctional non-music, that challenge the listener in their very definition as 'Music'; but, I'd struggle to identify the difference between most of them, except maybe Whitehouse, and even they sound a lot like Consumer Electronics, or vice versa. This, three volume, compilation, gathers together the best of the early cassette releases by this anti-super group; in this case from "Onslaught"(Iphar 1982), and "31/05/1962" (Broken Flag 1982). The normal adjectives of vicious atonal dissonant racket applies. Great listening for depressives, and/or angry loners. And, YAAAAAAWN, we get the obligatory Nazi on the info sheet above. I suppose without Nazi's we wouldn't have anything on the TV, no Methadone, and we wouldn't have landed on the moon, so they're not that bad, are they????.........oh, hang on, we didn't land on the moon did we?............Whoever, "we",are!

Various Artists ‎– "White Power" (Iphar ‎– 011) 1983

Firstly, even though I don't have to explain myself; I am not(!) a fucking Nazi!!!! (Yawny Yawn Yawwwwwn!) As most cheapo satellite stations will testify, Nazi's sell advertising space, to other Nazi's, of the corporative kind. There's nothing that drags in the audience better than a couple of Swastika's pasted ici et la bas! Without Nazi's we wouldn't have anything to watch on TV;not to mention, Metadone, Crystal Meth, Rockets, Hugo Boss, MK Ultra,Nerve Gas,and the Nazi Disneyland of Auchwitz. But, more important than all of that; all the acts on labels like Broken Flag, Iphar, and Come Organisation, wouldn't have anything to sing about, or put on their record covers. Another thing that a starkly displayed Swastika will also guarantee is a large number of hits for this blog, and some Twat(!) complaining that your blog author is either a Fascist, or a Racist,or both! Even though it may not occur to them that Fascism does not necessarily mean Racism. It is usually those who are guilty of haboring these secret beliefs, the finger pointers, who are the Racist Nazi persons. So, don't bother boring me with your predictable 'right on I am' comments, and look in the mirror. Identify that inner Racist/Nazi before deflecting it onto easy targets. Then you can probably try and cure yourself of these ills.(all comments of this type will be deleted anyway......call it censorship if you will?) As for this excellently offensive cassette, I am always hoping that the flirtation with right wing extremism is just an artistic tool designed for us to confront the darker side of the human condition. This hope is severely tested by the likes of M.B., who is almost definitely a proud Fascist, and Philip Best(Consumer Electronics/Ramleh) looks like he could easily be in the Swingers section of the English Defence League. That said, this compilation, is an exhilarating roller-coaster ride through the best of  extreme Industrial Power Electronics of 1983; a vintage year for such ear bleeding delights. If you're offended by this, then you shouldn't be listening to it, or go and join the fucking Tory/Labour Party or its equivalent, with the rest of the puppets.

Kleistwahr ‎– "Myth" (Broken Flag - BF 3) 1983

Broken Flag's head honcho, Gary Mundy (Skullflower, Ramleh, Male Rape Group, Toll, etc,) is also Kleistwahr; purveyor of nasty disturbing noise. What makes this project reasonably effective is the space allowed for the noise to breathe; something that a lot of these groups/artists seem to squeeze out of their attempts to be as noisy and nasty as possible. Like the difference between Jaws and Jaws 2,or Alien and Aliens, they leave out the space, and therfore the tension; and to make up for it they ramp up the gory bits to overload. Kleistwahr's "Myth" is Alien, not Aliens, and is therefore a Noise classic and nicely unsettling indeed sir, thank you very much.
