Various Artists ‎– "The Elephant Table Album" (X Tract ‎– XX 001) 1983

Companion album to "Three Minute Symphony" compiled, again, by Dave Henderson ,late of the now defunct Sounds newspaper.Full of great tracks, even the 400 Blows track is fantastic, i think they went downhill fast after this single.
Its not perfect, (which is perfection?), as The Legendary Pink Dots do only a mildly irritating version of their Syd Barrett fans play with casiotone keyboards and pots'n'pans stuff.....still made me wanna punch somebody though!
We also got a minimal Coil track which is virtually a slow TR808 solo; dare to be minimal!
SPK on the cusp of becoming total Shite, the excellent Lustmord, Portion Control transmuting into their nasty vocals phase(which i'm not too enamoured about).
To sum it all up, it has its faults, but  a classic old school Industrial compilation, and a great starting point for the Industrial virgin to catch the 80's underground In flagrante delicto! (I don't really speak Latin by the way!)

Konstruktivits ‎–"NKVD (Compilation 1981-82)" ( Audiofile Tapes ‎AT 77) 1989

Unreleased music from the Flow motion years  1981-1982, by nkvd, konstruktivits and v.d.o. Glenn Michael Wallis of Konstruktivits' 'Lost Years', from 81-82, as released on an obscure C90 in 1989. Literally full of throbbing machinery, like a field recording of failing Soviet nuclear power plant. The ambient sound of the slow death of an exploited planet. That's what this sounds like. Almost relaxing, like the last drop of Morphine before they turn your respirator off......for good!

Konstruktivists - "Psyko-Genetika II" -(Harsh Reality Music HR07) 1985

The sound of dying factorys, malfunctioning generator sub-stations, and radio's tuned into the microwave radiation background of the most distant parts of the cosmos; can be alluring if heard for the first few times.
We (not me)first heard stuff like this in the 1950's via the BBC radiophonic workshop, and Louis and Bebe Barron's soundtrack for 'The Forbidden Planet'.
Fifty years on it's kinda become irritating and easy. Frankly, even in 1985, anyone could make an Industrial album like this. Fiddle about with some electronic sound generator, feed it through a load of effects, and you're gonna end up with a gloomy doomy 'Weird' soundscape like this. Hell, we've all made an Industrial album, if i wanna listen to something like this I'll make it myself in a couple of hours, and it'd be more fun.
Although I salute this genre as being the ultimate in non-muso music for people who haven't got a clue how to play an instrument; Inclusive music, rather than exclusive. This is a good thing, but I don't wanna hear it anymore........although, you can by downloading this dreary C60 below: (give it a go, I've just got up and I've got the arse/ translation: I am grumpy....it's not that bad)
Dark industrial lite for the down elevator to Hell. Delightfully dark and doomy, but not so much so that you couldn't tap your feet to it whilst sipping a Campari and soda.
The Industrial version of Dub Reggae;superb background music for a grass smoking soirée in the suburbs,  before the quail egg canapés.Best served as an Hors d'oeuvre to some recreational drug taking, washed down by a refreshing glass of Bucks Fizz and/or Pimms.
I think i'm saying this is Industrial music for the Nouveau Riche , a kind of classy but classless oneupmanship display for your 'dumber' friends who still like Punk Rock.
Dark, but inoffensive.......am I being unfair??

Konstruktivists - "Psykho Genetika" (Third Mind records TM02) 1983

Seem like a popular bunch these Konstruktivists. So here's Psykho Genetika 1, which I have to say is a lot better than it's follow-up Psykho gentetika II. A Lot more sinister sounding, like the first wave Industrial music we all know and love.Less dependant on those dull dark ambient noodlings, and more reliant on sounds with a bit of substance. yes, still the sound of dying factories, malfunctioning machinery, and radio's tuned between stations; but this time with some noise to grab hold of; highly recommended, but downhill from here methinks.
