"Swan Song" watercolor

Sometimes the final stages of life can be the most beautiful. Watercolor on Arches 300# cold press, 13-1/2" x 10."  Demo from Saturday's class.  My last two roses were from photos taken several years ago.  I think going through old files can uncover some great inspiration.   www.dianemorganpaints.com

"Last Dance" watercolor class demo

This is from last week's watercolor class.  13-1/2" x 10" on Arches 300# cold press. Really had fun doing wet-on-wet and letting colors run all over and blend together. Started on a companion piece in today's class.

Rose of a Different Color. Oil vs watercolor demo

I finally finished the watercolor version of the rose from last week's class.  The oil is 6" x 8" on canvas.  The watercolor is 10" x 12" on Arches 300# cold press.  I won't be able to do the comparison painting of oil vs watercolor for a couple weeks.  I will only be doing watercolor until mid January. Next week, besides Saturday's watercolor class, I will be doing two demos....one for an art group and another for the grand opening of the local art supply store where my classes are held.  Lots of prep work to do.  Gonna be a busy week.

"With Wild Abandon" watercolor demo

For me this was loose and crazy.  For some it might be considered tight and detailed.  I had fun just splashing away.  Class demo.  Watercolor 12" x 13"  Available at  http://www.dailypainters.com/artists/artist_gallery/2361/Diane-Morgan

Rose on Top daily painting

I painted this while watching "Cupcake Wars" They invented that show just for me. I just signed up for a new auction site created just for Daily Painters by Carol Marine. The charge is only 3% for sales compared to eBay's 9%. eBay is now even adding your shipping costs to the total amount they use to calculate the percentage. Carol is a very successful daily painter whose works sells daily for well over $150. You can see my auction here. To see other art in the auction click here. I think the quality of work is higher in general than eBay

Rainy Day Rose

This is the piece I started in a 5-hour workshop/demo ten days ago. Add twenty more hours and it's as done as it's going to get. This actually would have been easier to do larger. This is a half sheet 14" x 21, 300# cold press. Part of the beauty of watercolor is the layering of colors, but just once it would be nice to put down a single wash and have it be exactly the right color and effect.

I Love Bees

This is my first in a series of bee paintings. Bees are just so darn cute. This was so much fun to paint. Did you know....the average worker bee makes 1-1/2 teaspoons of honey in her lifetime, and, that one-third of the food we eat exists because of bees? That makes them pretty darn important, too. This 24" x 30" oil on gallery-wrap canvas is available on my website http://www.DianeMorganPaints.com
