Snow days and Love Angel Paper Dolls.....Happiness !!!!

 

 Happy Monday Everyone....Today we have an official SNOW DAY!!! finally!!! so we are having some fun creating and working on art in the Studio!!! I made a super cute new paper doll in my collection.....this is an ink and watercolour Angel/Cherub I worked on and I love her!!!!

I love the way she turned out....so sweet!!! I just added her to my Etsy Shop too....

A ready made one and a digital PDF file one.....so you can create one for yourself too!!!

More Spun Cotton work.....Meet Santa and The Dark Angel of Paris

I am having so much fun with this old art of Spun Cotton figures....these pieces are my latest creations....Santa bearing gifts and the Dark Angel of Paris....

I think they will look great propped on a glass ....or added to the Christmas tree with your ornaments.... Over 150 years ago in Germany cottage industries produced handmade ornaments spun from cotton. Each was unique. Later, the craft expanded to Occupied Japan and Russia. Today these ornaments are highly prized and collectible but little information is available about how they were made.

This is the way I think they were made...and I enjoy creating each piece.....

Illustration Friday - clumsy

Hi Everyone....When it came to Cupid University....Gabriella was always clumsy with her hearts...She would miss her target and they would all fall down....luckily at school there were numerous clouds that would catch her fallen hearts.....and give her another try at making love happen......

Mixed Media Monday - On the wings of Love....Meet Cupid....

Hi Everyone....

Meet Cupid as a wee little boy....he learned the ropes to about Love from his Mother Venus....and his father Mars....Venus was the goddess of Love and Daddy was the god of war....I guess that's where the phrase...all is fair in Love and War came about....

Cupid learned everything from his parents and loves to make people fall in love all over the world...

He has his love arrows all ready...and he is looking for his next fix up!!!

ATC Wednesday and my latest recipe ....I submitted it to a contest!!!

Hi Everyone!!

hope you're enjoying the wonderful weather.....I have been doing a lot of gardening lately....being outside is so much fun and planting has always been my thing.....

For ATC Wednesday I revamped my special angel....this is Cole's Guardian Angel....I am happy she looks out for him when I can't.....

I also created a very tasty recipe...you can get a sneak peek below...but I will have to share the recipe once the contest is over....I submitted it to the Canadian Living Cook of the Year Contest.....

All I can say right now is that it tastes great and Cole loves it too....

2 challenges in one....

Hi Everyone...We had a long weekend here in Ontario so I am a bit behind....

This week on Mixed Media Monday the theme is "hearts and wings" and on the Arty Girlz Challenge blog the theme is "wire"

I made a special angel who can fly and gives out love and has a halo that looks like it is lit up by a wire....

She is a 4inch x 6 inch watercolour and ink....

Daily Art Stop - Challenge Wednesday - Theme "Love"

I am having fun with more colour this week...I wasn't sure when I would be able to colour this piece that I created in the Hospital for my Father in Law....but I found some peace in working on this one today....I will have this one matted and framed for Brad....

what a wonderful Thursday...today's mail brought some wonderful treats...

Heather Robinson sent me this beautiful Angel ATC...the details and colours are amazing...you have to pop by her blog and say hello....she is so talented and I love her work...

I participate in weekly challenges on the Arty Girlz Challenge blog and then was pleasantly surprised that I won these amazing Paris Stamps...what fun! and j'adore all things Paris!

I have a few art projects on the go right now...but today I am posting a photo of one of my creations....these are yummy chocolate brownie cupcakes with peanuts on top and a peanut butter middle...then half of them have a drizzle of chocolate ganache...yummmmmmmmmmm

Last Drawing in the ICU - Farewell Dearest Father-in-Law....

It is with great sadness that I post my last drawing in the ICU...My Father-in-Law fought as long and hard as he could...but today at 6pm he passed away....

We were all with him and by his side during it all...we love him dearly and he will be greatly missed.....

I started this illustration in the ICU waiting room...it was Cole asking Dad's Guardian Angel for help...

We know that he is in a better place now and not suffering anymore...we also feel that he is with us in all we do and will always think of you dear Dad...

May you pray for us in Heaven and watch over us...

Family Emergency....

Hi Everyone...

I just wanted to add an update on my blog...My Father-in-Law is very ill and he is now in ICU....we are with him around the clock and hope and pray that everything gets better for him....I have done some illustrations at the hospital ....one special one for Dad.....I made him a Guardian Angel...it is taped to the wall in his room...He was always so supportive of my art....We have the most amazing relationship...he is one of the most amazing people I have ever met....the most giving and thoughtful person around....He was always on the go doing all this amazing volunteer work...I was always blown away by his giving spirit...

It is so hard to see him unconscious and hooked up to so many machines...I want to be there for Dad and my husband Brad as much as I can...so I will be back soon I hope....

Thanks for all the kind notes, thoughts and prayers for my family...I appreciate it from the heart....
