It arrives.......

This awaits when I came home from the qur'an recital sessions with friends today. The parcel that I have been waiting for almost 3 months... but it was worth them all.

This is the quilted fabric basket, made for a SWAP organized by Michele Foster of Quilting Gallery few months back. It came from Jacquelyn Morris-Smith of Arizona, USA, my swapee..... She includes other goodies, a table mat and mug rug, a little notes and some business cards. I love them all, Jacquelyn..... and thanks a heap for all these lovely items and the beautiful fabric basket...:)

If dear reader ever wonder how was mine..... please visit Marta, who keeps my basket safely in her home...... :)

STITCHERS' ANGEL SWAP

I was dusting off my embroidery machine from the corner of my sewing table...... poor girl! I am into embroidery this week for few custom orders from some friends.

While I was at it, I embroidered a white pure cotton fabric tablecloth for my Angel from Stitchers' Angels Swap (can't reveal her here yet). Included were a wrist clutch by which I hand-stitched a little rose and a hexagon pincushion. Hope with these, she loves them and will reach her on time. Have posted this a week ago.

P/S > Received a note from my Angel, Suzana Diaz of SusanPatch from Malaga, Spain. She has received my little gifts safely and hoping very mush she loves them all....... My humble thanks too for Helen Stubbings of Hugsnkisses for hosting this wonderful swap..... will look forward for more swaps organize by Helen.... :)

> An email came from Pia Skogman, my Angel from Sweden, saying that she was not feeling well to stitch yet....... and she was so sorry for this to happen.... My prayer for your speedy recovery Pia...... I can always wait.... :)

THE GOOD OL' SUMMERTIME MINI QUILT SWAP

We (hubby and I) had a great time last week visiting our children at BK3. During this fasting month I knew that they would love to have their favourites dishes to be on the table at least once.... Nia-Laksa Penang, Darr-Ayam Pedas Kicap and Boy-Hot and Spicy Spaghetti.... all done..... And also we had few shopping trips.... We are now back at Alor Setar.

Before we left for KL, actually I managed to complete this, but the line was down then and could not post here until today.

The Good Ol’ Summertime Mini Quilt Swap

Very soon I will sent this to my swap partner. Since she loves flowers.... and from few of my local batik fabrics, machine appliqued and machine quilted.....this will be hers. I really hope she likes my little bright quilt specially made for her. It measures 22" x 22".

PINCUSHION SWAP

My excitement of waiting for the pincushion swap finally came to an end when this arrived yesterday. I was so exited all over, for this was my first swap and received some great gifts from Vanessa Bodrie of Minnesota.I read her blog and I fell in love with the neighbourhood she and family stay. So country........ a serene life. She is good at quilting and my... her kids too do lots of craft projects! Please do visit her blog!

She wrapped some of the gifts with great black and red fabrics, my favourite colours.

When I unwrapped there goes the beautiful, cute pincushion sewn with care, some beads, ribbons, fabrics and a card..... I love all these.

Thank you Vanessa for all the wonderful and thoughtful gifts. Also my thanks to Sandra to make everything possible and happens......

PINCUSHION SUMMER SWAP

Yes, the fun begin and worth waiting for!!!!!

Sandra emailed and mentioned who my pincushion-swap recipient is...... well, it is between me and her.

Please visit Sandra ..... Many of us participating and it should be fun when the exchange comes. To be sent before June 21st. Sorry, no pics until after everything is over.

Now have to start digging ideas of the pincushion to stitch/sew, since I know her details and I want her to receive the best pincushion.

The most trill part is, I do not know who will be sending me her lovely pincushion......

PINCUSHION SUMMER SWAP

AS I WAS GOOGLEing AROUND, FOUND THIS VERY INTERESTING SWAP................

Sandra Den Haag of Quilt At Home will be making a pincushion to swap, it has to be selfmade and you can use any form of textile art you like best. So you can piece, applique it or use stitchery's, woolfelt, make a crochet pincushion. Anything goes and make it the way you like it. Off course don't forget your partner's choice of color.
To this pincushion you should add
- a personal card/letter for your partner
- some stitching supplies to go along with the pincushion worth no more than 5 euro/6 dollars. For example some buttons, thread, needles, ribbons etc Please don't add food/sweets etc because of customs

Other things to remember:
  1. Anyone who loves pincushions and has a blog can enter this Swap
  2. If you participate you must be willing to ship overseas (in case you're assigned an international partner)
  3. You can sign up untill May 10th by sending an email to info@quiltathome.nl. After signing up, you'll be asked to tell a little bit more about yourself and what you like/dislike.
  4. After signing up you can grab the Swap button and put it on your blog, so all can see you joined us.
  5. Your parcel must be posted before 21st June
  6. Once you have received your parcel from your partner show us what you've received on your blog as soon as you can :0)

We hope no one gets disappointed, lets all stick to these 'rules' and make it a wonderfull swap. She is looking forward to getting to know all those creative blogs & seeing all kinds of selfmade pincushions!!

Care to join them, girls..... get moving now!!!!!
