So near..yet so far

I was hunting for another strawberry-printed fabric yesterday when the urge of longing for this girl was unbearable :D..... 'cos I was right below her office building in town...seemed I almost see her through the concrete wall.... :D

And we met at Pekan Rabu.... the famous tourist attraction in the heart of Bandar Alor Star. Wow..... two crazy buddy met....! (orang kat situ pandang semacam aja depa dua ni). A brief one hour was just like a blink of an eye.... but a lot of views, sewing related and personal ordeal was revealed and narrated out.....

Above pic... Ann holding my fav bag and she....... in her fav baju kurung...... yet with her smile, the shallowness of her eyes, shows. Ann, be brave! I have ears for you and I am always there to lend you a shoulder ..... :)

the return of MURNI

This girl was missing from my sewing room for many seasons ................... She had just came home from visiting her in laws in Sabah and now is expecting her first baby. Doesn't she look familiar?

If I mentioned MURNIWATI, does it ring a bell.........? She was an x-stuff of Epal and had travelled around Semenanjung to all Epal centres...... She was very famous then.... winning few awards for her creativity and produced some very neat works and a good tutor there. She retires now and a full time housewife.

All was not planned, and she came barging to the house out of the blue..... and I was thrilled. She brought along a bundle of scraps ...................all lovely and yummy designs.

... and I just knew what to do with them all.................... :D

ANN'S HIDEAWAY

I went to Ann's place yesterday and we had really enjoyed each other's company. Yes, she has really into sewing this time and proven by how her crafty room's look-like...... but the entire house look decent except this particular nook.... see what I mean! I did urged her to do some homework and organize her lovely fabrics.

But personally I admire her style of doing her own design.... simply artistic and some are a rare kind and are purely her own .... Keep it up Ann!

We have more in common with this sewing things and we have lots more to talk and discuss..... but my eyes were gazing here and there wondering her house mate where about...... glad that he was away. May be giving us the whole few hours to chat and all-ladies and sewing talk which did not interest him at all. When I was about to wrap-up and leave Ann's place.... there he was..... Mr Popo.. the gendut-handsome cat.... Ann's house mate. I did not know where he was hiding.... and appeared finally..... He was so hungry that he did not bother to pose......

Thanks Ann for having lunch together and made me a cup of coffee and the lovely fabrics...... and showing me around Pekan Jitra........ Look forward to visit you more often..... if you will have me again!

P/S Actually I was so cautious/scared of anything furry.........
Thanks Popo, for understanding.... don't tell Ann... okay.... just between us... will reward you, Popo, during my next visit!

JUST LIKE THAT.....

A couple of hours ago, she came!!!!!!!

Who could that be?????????......... ANN from the CraftyAnique

She was just like her old self....the all-rounder Ann, that loves to do all sorts of thing, cracked jokes and laughs a lot.....and in the blink of an eye she was actually there sitting on my fav chair and at my sewing table.... then she was gone, leaving me........ And now her shadow keeps haunting me....

Ann, wait till we have the whole time in the world to chat while our hands busy sewing................ yes, sewing............ She really is sewing now and she showed me her swollen thumb and scorched hand..... poor girl..... but it is typical of her.... an accident prone!!!!!

Managed to snap her handmade stuff........

Reunite...... yet!

Recently I was surprised to received a call from a long lost friend.........ANN. How this blogging thing unites people from next door to world wide...for she found me again through my this page.

When we first met, we were like 2 little fish.... swimming vigorously to conquer the whole pool. That was about few years ago at the local swimming pool and met every Wednesday without fail...... Then when I moved to stay in the Klang Valley we lost contact. Ann came over to our place at BK3 once.....

Look at her tag line.......................

My Photo a.n.i.Q.u.e
I ve just discovered that sewing can be so much fun .... and I am only a beginner who is still trying to understand how a sewing machine works !

Life move things and human perception too. She has changed a lot I guess...but have not met her yet even now we stay in the same town..... :(

Ann, do come over to my sewing corner..... we have lots more in common this time, apart from gyms, swimming, aerobics, bowling ....... we have sewing to talk about.........!!!!!

WHAT A DAY

First of all, I would like to convey my heartiest CONGRATULATIONS to Puan Balkhis and Her Hubby....!

The happiest moment achieved at the starting of a good year was to be abled to do things we love and with someone of the same interest.... can really go mad! Balkhis and me had a wonderful time together yesterday from morning till almost dusk.....

When she came I had two beautiful ladies both from Perak royalty visiting my sewing corner..... After a while when my visitors had left we proceed by doing some embroidery and started talking about her new interest - cross stitching. She showed me her new books and some other gadgets bought from Craft Valley. I was rambling mine too but I can't show her anything in particular since all my works were buried in chest somewhere..... it gets so frustrating when I can't produced mine. So I dug up some precious treasures to let Khis see and well ....the rest were understood...... and I did not realized I have few more and get them completed!

Then we left my house, liked a wrecked ship, and closed the door behind us and heading to town. Firstly to register her name at POPULAR to subscribe the BHG magz and what ever available and she even asked for the back issues too....mmmmm.

To fill up for lunch we went to McD and had some big bites, cold drinks (which made me had my cold-brain several time- owch!) and Khis an ice cream... you should see how she took the delicious creamy thing... how I wish I could do just the same....

Then from here we started our hunting for fabrics.... then to some craft shops to get Aida cloth and DMC floss.... surprisingly few of the sale persons said that now x-stitch are out of seasons..... imagine! Phew! But I recalled, in the early 8thies when my craze for xs was beyond control I used to get my supplies from this particular shop..... I almost dragged Balkhis there.... poor preggy woman..... but her pace was better than mine :)

Lucky enough the tiny craft shop is still existed and everything were there... and best of all we got a good price slashed from everything bought......

Then we came back to my place and continued the embroidered parts, some rompers for her duly arrive baby. A happy Balkhis! To add to all these we called our long lost friend, former instructor from Epal group, MURNIWATI..... she came, so much to tell and hear... so many good and sad stories narrated.... yet we were like 3 stooges battling in own reminiscence....

But we have to go our separate ways .... since it was getting dark outside and promised that we will have another good time again..... soon.
