Swell and Dandy

Oh how I wish I could say that I was.

In my life, I close my eyes and it's all the same.
Wrong or Right, Black or White
If I close my eyes, it's all the same.

It feels just like I'm holding your scarred heart in my hands.
I plead with God on what I'm supposed to do now.

Day after day, I spend with my demons.
They have taken up the inside of my heart
And are so entertaining.

Tears are sparce
And I'm still.

I wait to see your face.
To hold you in my arms.
To tell you that not everything will be alright
But that I will take care of it.

Here are MY answers:

1. What is your favorite or most recent Etsy purchase and who are your favorite Etsy sellers?
Oh how I heart Etsy. When I think about something unusual or something unique, I ALWAYS turn to Etsy and I know I won't be let down.  Etsy allows me to be different.  My most recent Etsy purchase was custom made buttons that I designed.

2. What would you like to tell a teacher who has changed your life?
"Thank you for accepting me as I was (a young pregnant teen) and for not treating me like the way I had felt (an embarrassment).  You gave me the courage to stay in school and told me to hold my head up high.  While others were telling me I wasn't fit to be a mother, you told me that I was.  You made me believe it so much that I proved my family and friends wrong and graduated with my class....all while I was raising a baby on my own.  Thank you just doesn't seem like it's enough."

3. Did you marry your first true love?
YES...I do believe I am married to my first true love.  Everything in my past was just make believe.

4. FOUR random examples as to what makes me, me.
#1 - While most people have coffee in the morning, I prefer hot chocolate.  Nestle hot chocolate to be exact.  As much as I love the smell of it, I've never drank coffee.
#2 - I am headache prone.  I will never be caught without any kind of headache medicine because I get migraines quite often.
#3 - I enjoy eating stuff that causes bad breath, like sour cream & onion chips and funyuns, which is why I chew gum a lot. :-)
#4 - I brush my teeth in the shower more often than I do at the sink.

5. A story about a favorite pet:
When I was about 7 years old I had a white cat with light blue eyes named Sinatra.  She was such a pretty cat but I was so afraid of her and she knew it.  She'd attack me all the time.  I remember jumping up on our washer and dryer (thinking she wouldn't be able to get me there) to get away from her.  Once, when I was walking home from school one day I got chased by some dogs and out of nowhere Sinatra came jumping out of the bushes and scared them away.  Whoever thought to call cats "pussies" were obviously wrong about them.

6. What are your favorite WORDS or words that you find yourself using most frequently?
I say "Oh my gosh!" A LOT.  I know when I start over-using phrases (or words) when my 3 year old picks it up.

7. (I answered my own MEME in my previous blog post).

8. Have you ever met a celebrity?  If so, who?
Okay, I've met several different celebrities....let's see if I can remember whom exactly....I've met Sinbad (or the guy who played him) when I used to work for a radio station.  I've also met Ashanti while I worked for that same radio station.  I sat next to Kci and Jojo on a plane ride to Hawaii one summer and I spotted a lady from a Lysol cleaning commercial in the airport once (I didn't actually meet her though). I also met that guy who played on "Friday" (big worm or big perm or whatever).  Yeah, can't forget him....It was when I was a Hostess at a place a looong time ago and he didn't tip me.  Can you believe that shiz?

9. Who is your celebrity crush and why?
Josh Hartnett....because he's yummy!  I LOVE his jawline and his dreamy eyes!  He reminds me so much of my husband.

10.  What's your guilty pleasure?
I absolutely love getting my hair pulled.  You may be thinking "TMI" (too much information) but to tell you the truth I don't really mean it in that way.

SEVENTH stop on the Candy Shoppe Designs BLOG HOP MEME

Hi Blog Friends!
Care to join me in this Blog Hop Meme over at Candy Shoppe Designs?
It's FUN, EASY and you'll have the chance at winning this fabulous prize package filled with sweetness from The Paper Trail:
If you want to join in, start HERE.  If you've made your way to my blog from the sixth stop on the Blog Hop MemeThe Trailor Park (Kristin Powell a.k.a. Pumpkin Sue's blog) then read on....

The month of February is known for Valentine's Day, LOVE, Flowers, Cards, Teddy Bears, Chick Flicks, Dinners by candle light and all of that other mushy stuff. Seems like February is deemed for "couples" and "relationships" this month. Every Valentine's Day I am SO incredibly grateful to have my husband (the love of my life) by my side. However, it does get me thinking....I'm not going to lie....about the past loves in my life. So, what I want to know is....

"Is there somebody out there that you once knew or still know that you never got around to sharing your true feelings to? There may be more than just 1 person out there, maybe you're the silent and shy type, maybe you won't say it because you know that they already know what you feel. Who is this person and what would you say to them if they were standing in front of you at this very moment? (LOVING words ONLY!)"

 To answer my own question....
He is a guy I never talk about. My husband knows about some main key characters in my past relationships but not this one. You see, this guy wasn't really "my boyfriend"....to put a label on it.

I had met him during a time in my life when I was going through a rough patch. And oh how I wanted him so very, very badly. I was smitten! We were SO good together he and I. We hit it off right from the start.

I never knew that he already knew my secrets that I wasn't ready to share with him yet. Thanks person who was supposed to be my friend! And all that time we spent together, he knew already....everything. He was waiting and waiting so patiently for me to tell him and I never did. Call me "Coward!"

His friends used to use this phrase when they were around me "It's not that serious!" I never knew that the catch phrase was meant for him and I and sometimes I'd even chime in. How rediculious I must have looked.

He wanted me....probably just as much as I wanted him and yet they always had to be around reminding him that "it's not that serious!" What I didn't know at the time was that he was going through almost the exact "rough patch" that I was going through. If only I had known....we could have been going the road together through it all.

The "rough patch" I'm referring to is that I was already married and in the middle of a divorce with my ex-husband. My marriage was crumbling and there were 3 kids in the mix. I was depressed more than half the time and going through it alone, felt like. He was also going through a divorce though and I never knew. He was living in the same hell I was in.

I don't have anything negative to say about him....so I guess that is why I have never spoken about him to my husband. I have gotten rid of every picture of the two of us and everything that ever reminded me of him. I can't even listen to that retarded song "Roses" by Outkast because it reminds me of him. He exists now only in my memory. He's hardly even there. Since I don't speak of him he's quickly fading fast and I think it's easier this way. It was very hard for me to get over him when he finally left me.

I guess all that matters now is that I've since picked up the pieces to my life and have had a very successful marriage with the most loving, caring and important man I have ever known, my husband. My husband means everything to me and is the only man who deserves all of my attention.  I guess that's another reason why he is not spoken about. My husband doesn't need to hear how I was secretly in love with a man who never knew my true feelings and the reasons why it didn't work out....because it doesn't really matter anymore....that's the past.

However, if he and I were to ever cross paths again (which I highly doubt)....if he were standing here in front of where I stand....I would tell him that I'm sorry.

"I'm sorry for not telling you about my situation back then and for keeping it secret when I shouldn't have. I just thought it would be easier that way. For the times that we did share, I appreciate how good you were to me and I hope that you have found love and happiness in your life because I have."

So, that's my story. What's yours?
I can't wait to read your lost words and to see what you've never got to say.

Christmas two-oh-one-oh Recap

WARNING:  This is a picture heavy post!

CHRISTMAS RECAP (two-oh-one-oh)
This is a Christmas Recap....don't let the shirt fool you.

This Christmas we were lucky enough to have my husband's Grandparents fly out to spend it with us.  They are such an important part of our lives and Christmas wouldn't be the same without them.

Deja at age 12
Every Christmas Eve I have my kids make either a Gingerbread/Rice Krispie Treat House.  However, this year I had them decorate the cookies that we would leave out for Santa.

Jeremiah at age 7
They each were given 3 cookies to decorate however they wanted.

Eva at age 3
They quickly got to work while the adults hovered over them to watch their creations unfold.

Isaiah at age 9
It's never a good sign when I see my husband getting too close to the kids when their doing stuff like this.

This would be why.

This little guy is safe....as everyone knows to leave him out of food fights.  He can't handle the food fights.

This is what happens during the food fights....

They dig through the fridge and grab anything that will make a mess.

In this case it was yogurt!

Every time there is food fights in our house, someone ends up getting hurt.  Good thing this guy is a toughie!

Little Miss Prissy didn't get too involved this time.

She was working too hard on her perfection for Santa.

Although, I think the kids forgot that they were making them for Santa because after all was said and done this was all that was left out for him.

After all the ruckus I had to have me some of my COMFORT = Hot Chocolate & JOY = An Excedrin.

When the kids went off to bed Santa ended up visiting the spot under this here Christmas Tree with gifts that broke the bank account.

Here's Eva on Christmas morning deciding which one to open first.

I don't know how kids know what their going to be getting on Christmas but on the days leading up to Christmas this kid insisted that he knew he was getting this (an XBOX 360 with Kinect).  He bugged me in every store we went into saying "I know you got me an Xbox, I know you got me an Xbox."  No matter how much I tried to convince him that he wasn't.  Will someone please tell me how kids know these things?

Santa listened to her request for playdoh.  That's her favorite thing to play with at Sunday School.

Deja loved the Hawaiian Jewelry my Mother sent her from Hawaii.  She had the BIGGEST smile on her face this-morning.

I'm so lucky that my little guy gets excited about every gift that he opens.  He spends so much time openning each gift and appreciates each one SO much!  Even if it's clothes....many kids don't like getting clothes on Christmas but he thinks it's the coolest thing!

Gotta represent the home team!

My gift from my honey.  I'm such a juicy girl!

The kids always check their stockings after they open all their gifts.  The stuff in these socks amuse them a lot longer for some reason then the actual gifts themselves.

Okay, maybe the whistle was a bad idea now that I think about it.

Don't mind her!  They all had an awesome Christmas this year!

I'll have to say the same for the Grandparents.  They were caught playing with the Playdoh even when Eva wasn't around. :-)
