Emerald green inspiration...

I'm sure you already know that emerald green is the 2013 Pantone color of the year. So appropriate too, since the color green also symbolizes growth, renewal and rebirth.  A little inspiration goes a long way.

Enjoy!

Flowers again...

Hello my blogging friends! I miss you guys soooo much, it's ridiculous! I haven't posted in almost two weeks and I am so embarrassed... Well, here is the deal. I used to be a floral designer before I became an interior designer. One of the event planners I did work for asked me if I was interested in doing flowers for one of her premiers. So, of course I said yes and so I am doing the trees for the premier "Where The Wild Things Are" at the MOMA. Here is a picture of some of the flowers I'm using. I had to do a sample at the last minute and thankfully they love it and I'm doing it! I may not post much the next week, because the premier is on Tuesday. I will be back will a vengeance next week though...Miss you guys, really. I can't wait to get back into the groove of things...See you soon!

Flowers...Jane Packer style

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! I just want to mention that I didn't have as much time as I wanted to finish my mini kitchen re-do...but I should have some pics next week. I made my husband promise that we wouldn't make any plans next weekend, so that we can catch up with things around the house. For now, I would like to introduce you to Jane Packer...

Jane is an amazing artist and very talented floral designer from England. I was a floral designer for a very long time, so when I see a beautful book on flowers, I just have to have it! This book takes you through a step by step guide on creating some simple; some more advanced, yet elegant flowers for any occasion. The flower selection is wonderful! You'll be creating your own stunning arrangments in no time at all. You really should pick up a copy...You never know when you might need some inspiration...Enjoy!

Happy weekend...

This weekend is chock full of activity....I am going to visit a friend in PA that I haven't seen in ten years! I am so excited to see her and finally meet her children. I am also hosting a small birthday get together on Sunday for my sister and in the midst of all of that, I still have to finish my mini-kitchen redo project. The cabinets and the hardware have to go up. So ..I have parties, entertaining and kitchen on the brain. Love it! Hope you have a nice weekend too!

Mother's Day flowers...

Mom's all around the world...Our special day is almost here!  It's the one day when our husbands and children give us breakfast in bed and do special things for us like, really clean the house.

This morning I was reading a post on absolutely beautiful things blogspot about flower sheds and it reminded me of how much I absolutely LOVE to have fresh flowers. So, I thought I would recommend a great gift that I think would make any mom happy...Enjoy!

Look at these scrumptious tulips in a box. This box has six individually wrapped bunches--each with 20 tulips.  I found these on flowerbud.com. Perfect for springtime!

Another thoughtful gift could be this "Phalaenopsis" potted orchid.  I use orchids a lot in my design projects. Not only is it an elegant flower, but the potted plant can last a long time.
