BEFORE AND AFTER

OK....so I have a small before and after for you today.  You might have seen on Instagram but I can give you a few details....and lets face it.....you like a pretty picture but in the end you want to know the why and how...am I right?

A long time client wanted some things zhushed before having company.  Oh...and one other small detail....I had about 6 weeks to get it done!

I already posted one bedroom a few months ago so there was one more room and some shelves to do.  I am always up for the task of styling shelves!

Let's start with the before.  I did not change out the bed, lamps, nightstands or the rug!

Here is the after.  I ordered the bench.  It is by Uttermost but I changed out the fabric.  That is an easy fix for sure. It added some nice pattern at the foot of the bed.

New pillows [custom] and a bedspread from HomeGoods that warmed it up!

I had her take most of the things off the shelves.....and was happy that they  were adjustable!

We [ Rose] took one out completely to give some breathing room!  Propped up some books he had and added the baskets at the bottom for texture.

A few HG's items completed the look....

The chest did not have anything on it so we found a few photographs that were already there and hung them.  Then a faux fern and some books.....

In the other room I had already had this small entrance wallpapered but had not done anything to the shelves!  I had her take most of it out and it got a little makeover!

So much better don't cha think?

Small changes and big impact.  I am always up for that challenge:)

Stay tuned for the reveal of the family room and guest room.

Also I have a really fun project coming up and I am excited to say that we painted the walls green!

This is the wallpaper that is going on the unpainted part over the cabinets....

This one might take a while since we are ordering furniture but I will keep you posted on the progress!

Alrighty then...Rose and I are leaving for Highpoint tomorrow so stay tuned for lots of stories and my fav design trends!

THIS AND THAT

I have to say it's been some crazy times here!  Last week I shopped for 3 solid days for an install on Monday.  I was at every HomeGoods and retail store in the city and every afternoon I would have to lug it all in my house.  You couldn't even walk thru my living room!

It all went well except the art did not arrive.  No worries though as it got delivered yesterday and it's getting hung today just in time for the party tomorrow.  Whew....cutting it close Sherry:)

I should have some pictures soon but today is just your typical dump of my week.

Last Sunday Rose and I went over to help Sudi with a little styling in her new condo.

Here is what we started with.  Rose found the table from Crate and Barrel.  It's a small condo so this table will double as an extra dining table also.

We found these vintage chairs at Scott's and the honey color of the wood looks great with the other furniture!

We did find the beautiful vase at one of my favorite Shopping places in Atlanta.....Noah J and Co.  She had the wing chair in the bedroom but I brought it out for some weight.

That piece of art will be hung but she was thrilled with the outcome.  We were pretty pleased with ourselves as she is a tough critic....haha

I mentioned to my sweet client about painting this wall dark and dang if she didn't get it done!  So I picked up a few runners and score!

I love that we are taking this project slow and finding a good mix of things.

She is having a plunge pool installed and I can't wait to dip my toes in it this summer.....

Let's see....what else.  Oh yeah I scooted down to the Mart on Wednesday.....

Saw some pretty things in Currey's new showroom...

This cute wicker valance from Mainly Baskets!

This settee that I ordered for a client....

Ordered a crapload of white jars for a mantel....I have some inspiration I'm working on...haha.

Whoops....back to  Currey!

Love a good sunburst mirror and this one from Gabby is no exception!

So I was at my favorite flea market the other day and how I spotted it.....is a surprise to me but I saw this mirrored coffee table under all these things.  After I pulled everything off I realized how pretty it was so I called my client and said come get this beauty!

Of course I got home and googled it to find that it was on 1st Dips for 1600.00!  Let's just say it was a steal:)

I was at a clients delivering some rugs yesterday and they had just finished landscaping....so pretty!

And there you have it....oh yeah I have exciting news!  I just got a summer design intern and Lord not a moment too soon!   She is a junior at UGA and I am hoping she can pull a miracle and help me get my life in order.  That is probably too big of an ask but hey....a girl can dream right!

Also I am not taking my blog to Facebook.  I just have a Design Indulgence Facebook page that you can read my blog on.  But....I will also have another alternative soon.

And last up......
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL OF YOU!  I know it has been a hard year for y'all:)

As always thanks for all of your support....it does not go unnoticed and I really appreciate it!

BEFORE AND AFTER

Well here it is Friday and I think my week skipped Tuesday :)

I knew I was going to have another little fun before and after for ya today so I just wasn't motivated to to a post when I felt like it was going to be a snooze.  I realize many of you take the time to cruise over here and I wanna make sure you get a little bang!

So things are full circle here at Sherry Hart Designs. Now.....my long time clients children are grown and they are calling me to help them with their first apartments!

I can hardly say no and with Hannah I had done her bedroom when she was a little girl:)

So let's take a look at the changes.  First of all I only bought one small piece of furniture.....she already had been living there a few months but it just needed to be pulled together!

Rose and I came to the rescue.....

Here is the bedroom....which as you can see just needed a little help being pulled together.

Just a few accessories.....Target vase.

Before....

After....

She had the art hung and I bought a pillow and throw!

I just pulled a few colors out of the rug.....

Before......

We hung the art for her and just added a few small accessories!

Ta Da....

You can see it did not take much!

Moving into the living area.....

Let's break it down....new pillows, larger lamp shade and just a few accessories.

Pillows came from Crate and Barrel and West Elm

Before.....

After....

Before.....

After.....

And....the kitchen!

We only had about 3 hours to do this and I think we spend 2 hours on these shelves.....haha
Then we totally had to scurry.....

I found the art at Target and then just some greenery....she had everything else so we just shopped her place....

She had bought this shelve from Ballard Designs to serve as a bar area.....when we were there we told her where to hang it.

Honestly I think we only bought the faux plant from Target....the small bowl from HomeGoods.

The art and that's it!

Here are a few shots of the kitchen shelves....

Before.....

After....

We bought the small art and faux plant from Target....the vase from Crate and Barrel and the rug and blue vase from Homegoods.....

The rest was just styling:)

In the foyer I had her Mom make some prints to put in frames from HomeGoods...and we moved the rug that was previously in front of the kitchen sink.

Before....

After.

Before....she really needed a drop station for keys etc.

Everything we found at HG's was too short....but then Rose found this cabinet at Ikea!  The small mirror and lamp came from HG's.

So funny cause I had her Mom pick it up and when she and her husband opened the box they got overwhelmed [welcome to my world]!  They actually  called TaskRabbit to put it together and she said they were great....

 And that's it!

Getting the sweetest text from her that evening made it all worth it!  I have to say that the main reason I am in design is that I love when people are happy with their spaces.....it's the best.

Have a great weekend y'all....
