AN ALMOST FINISHED BEDROOM

Well I guess I did take a small break....every time I say I am going to blog more I curse myself:)

But hey....I guess that is what old people do...I don't know....but maybe!
I will be 71 in a little over 3 weeks....yikes!

Anyway....This will be short but I thought you might enjoy a bedroom that is 95% finished except for one big wall that needs something but you won't see it in these pictures....because I can be clever like that....

I worked on this house from the beginning and I might add it is one of my favorite homes.  The light in this house is amazing....

Every darn room is magical.

I have posted some of this room before while in progress....she actually had the rug in a family room in her old house.  She also had the bedside chest so we repurposed them here.  We ordered the bedspread from Amazon.....it has a great romantic feel.

These beautiful Visual Comfort lamps were the perfect modern touch for this space....you know it is good to mix the modern and tradition together.

Newsflash right...haha

I ordered some really pretty Schumacher velvet to make a headboard...again with a more streamlined style!
And the very pretty Gabby Decor mirror was a nice addition for over the bed.

One of my favorite soft florals from Lee Jofa!

Here is what is really cool....she had these shutters and they were a perfect fit in this bedroom on each side of the window....winner!

She also had the chair and art which also go pretty with the softness of the space.  Another piece of modern furniture with the acrylic console!

In the bathroom we painted the walls BM Coventry gray and she found this rug at Scotts Antique Market....It was the perfect combination of colors!

So I am off to walk Cami....we have been having great weather here in Atlanta but it is not going to last. I am headed to Scott's on Thursday to look for things for an install coming up....

BEFORE AND AFTER

Hola there my friends......

We are almost finished with summer and it has been a hot one here in Atlanta!  Very humid so my hair has been in a permanent ponytail!

I have been staying busy trying to get things done.....which is always a struggle for me.  I don't remember being such a procrastinator in my early years.....but I guess I was:)

I started this boys room about a year ago!  It's pretty much finished and of course he is off to college now.

Let's start from the beginning.  It was already painted a blue but I wanted to go darker so I chose the old staple BM Hale Navy.  It is such a rich color....

We decided to keep the rug because it was fairly new and there was nothing wrong with it!

So now it is painted and has been measured for new curtains!

I had a bed custom made and though it was a little bit more expensive we did not have to wait a darn year to get it!

The curtains finally arrived and they were so pretty!

And the Charles Stewart chair made its way to Atlanta....

Got some pillows and bedding....

Love the trim on the curtains!

It is taking shape.
And then the end tables arrived....seriously y'all it is like Drip...drip...drip....:)

I ordered the lamps from Pottery Barn!

But the best part came last week and I feel like they really pulled the room together!

The blinds were installed!

I think they really made a big different adding some texture.

This little nugget loved everything:)

And there you have it!  Would you believe he makes his bed everyday?  At least all the times I was there!
Not the dog but the son...hahaha

Whats up with y'all?  Kids back to school?  Vacations over?  Ready for fall....

Have y'all watched The Bear on Hulu?  So good.

Alrighty then....

A LITTLE BEFORE AND AFTER

Hello friends......

I writing this from Nantucket.  I came up here to help celebrate my neighbors husbands 60th birthday.  Any excuse to come back up here right!

Of course if you saw my Instagram post on Wednesday you know that as I was in line for security I realized that I had forgotten my wallet at home and had to Uber back [30 min] get my wallet and Uber back to the airport another 30 min.  I wasn't sure I was going to make it but by some miracle I did.

I decided not to stress and I just said to myself if I make it....great and if I didn't then it would not be the end of the world.

I guess it was in the cards for me to be here.

The first night I was here I slept almost 12 hours.  That was pretty cool.....

Anyway I am going to share a bedroom that got installed a few weeks back.  It is not finished yet but its seen quite the transformation since they moved in....

The beginning....let's quickly take a look at the before.....

There was a textured wallpaper on the walls that had to be removed.

The next step was moving this bed in that was in an apartment up in Philadelphia that she acquired.

The Schumacher wallpaper went up and as you can see we barely had room for end tables but I managed to find these that are about 18" wide!

The next phase were the custom window treatments and pillows.

This is a before picture of the window area across from the bed.

And these are 2 chairs that she also inherited!

It has been years since I have done a cornice and I am loving it!

Of course it is not accessorized yet but it will be soon.....

I have picked out some pretty lamps and then I need a few trinkets to bring it all together....

So there you have it.  Honestly work is a pretty good distraction for me but my brain is definitely not a full capacity.  I am easily distracted and find that I am procrastinating on things that I need to be doing.

Ugh.

I heard a simple saying the other day.  Time takes time.  Duh right!  I mean it is so simple.

Hope you guys all have a great weekend....

Thanks so much for reading and hanging in there with me.

PROJECT UPDATE MADISON GEORGIA

Man....I do not know how it got to be Tuesday already.  Even though I am still working....I tried to take the weekend off which helped a little not having the days run together!

Since my gym is closed I have been walking like I am getting paid for it.  I think on Sat I did 10 miles and of course my OCD kicks in and once I do something like that then I want to do 11 and so on....gahhhhhh.

Why can't I apply that to my invoicing.....:)

I have a few pics today of one of the bedrooms at my Madison project.  No judging as it's not fully accessorized yet but I am pretty pleased with how it is looking!

Here are some of the items I ordered for this bedroom.....

Painted the walls BM Alaskan Skies

The floors are from Authentic Reclaimed Floors.

Here is the rug.....

The sofa is from Charles Stewart....don't be scared.....it's a performance fabric!

The pillows are from Noah J and Co.

Noir Bed....a favorite.... with Regina Andrews lamps.  Romo fabric on bed pillows.

Over in the  corner we have a Noir chair and my fav Circa Lighting lamp! I am going to cover the chair in something more textural.

I was nervous to order the sofa at the foot of the bed....yes I still get nervous with my decisions....thinking "would it overwhelm the room" but surprisingly it works!

The profile of the sofa is not bulky.  It is a new style from Charles Stewart.  I don't have a shot but the view while sitting on the sofa is lovely!

On Saturday my neighbor came  over and we cooked.  Let me preface this by saying she cooked  and I chopped and cleaned up behind....which is a job I am completely happy with.

The first thing she made were these lemon squares.  Good Lord you guys....I have never tasted anything so good.  And I sure wish I had a pretty glass dish to cook it in....but sadly this is real life!

We each ate a corner cause everyone knows that crunchy corners are better:)

Then we she made this.  Whoaaaaa mama.  Another winner.  I had it for dinner that night and put it over a little rice.  Yummers.

I spent a whopping 3.99 on these...from Target.

Sunday was a stormy raining day so I chilled.  I got sucked in watching a cheesy romance novel type show in Netflix called Virgin River.  It kind of reminded me of a Hallmark movie.  It's no Ozark but got me through a few days:)

And last night my sister [she owns Southern Bistro in Sandy Springs]  delivered some meals to my neighborhood....it was Meatloaf Monday and dayum it was so good.

Especially the collard greens.

How lucky am I?

Alrighty then....fun catching up with you guys.
Pamela .....I am praying for your Mom and hope she recovers from the virus.
