BEFORE AND AFTER

Hola there my friends......

We are almost finished with summer and it has been a hot one here in Atlanta!  Very humid so my hair has been in a permanent ponytail!

I have been staying busy trying to get things done.....which is always a struggle for me.  I don't remember being such a procrastinator in my early years.....but I guess I was:)

I started this boys room about a year ago!  It's pretty much finished and of course he is off to college now.

Let's start from the beginning.  It was already painted a blue but I wanted to go darker so I chose the old staple BM Hale Navy.  It is such a rich color....

We decided to keep the rug because it was fairly new and there was nothing wrong with it!

So now it is painted and has been measured for new curtains!

I had a bed custom made and though it was a little bit more expensive we did not have to wait a darn year to get it!

The curtains finally arrived and they were so pretty!

And the Charles Stewart chair made its way to Atlanta....

Got some pillows and bedding....

Love the trim on the curtains!

It is taking shape.
And then the end tables arrived....seriously y'all it is like Drip...drip...drip....:)

I ordered the lamps from Pottery Barn!

But the best part came last week and I feel like they really pulled the room together!

The blinds were installed!

I think they really made a big different adding some texture.

This little nugget loved everything:)

And there you have it!  Would you believe he makes his bed everyday?  At least all the times I was there!
Not the dog but the son...hahaha

Whats up with y'all?  Kids back to school?  Vacations over?  Ready for fall....

Have y'all watched The Bear on Hulu?  So good.

Alrighty then....

BEFORE AND AFTER

Well how the heck are ya?

Yup it's been a while and I feel shame that I am neglecting you guys but I am not giving up and I'm determined to get back on schedule!

Friday I had an install in a home office space.  I worked on this renovation all last winter and we have slowly been working our way through designing the rooms!  They are dream clients....so trusting what I do and the process.

Here is where we left off after the renovation was done and before they moved in.....

This is the before....after they moved in.  I had some work to do.....but I knew I could bring this space to life as it had good bones!  So.....I got to shopping which is the fun part.

Well kind of....I mean after 2 or three days I can hardly remember what I've bought and my living room looks like a retail store:)

These are some of the things I bought so we set it up like a store!!

I have said this before but it is all about the layering.  Plus I needed to work with what was there.  Now I am not a fan of "semi-attached" back cushions for the very reason you see above.  You can't flip them or have them re-stuffed.  But....I had an idea on how to help that situation out!

One of the things I wanted to do was layer a rug over the  bottom rug to add coziness.

I lucked out and found this vintage Oushak which happened to be a perfect match! In my opinion it was a game changer for the room.....

Before.....

                            After......

We used his law books to fill many of the shelves.....we left the stickers on for their kids to take off!

And you can see I tucked in a throw to cover the back cushion!

I lucked out finding the console that fit perfectly in the space between the bookshelves!
I found the floor lamp at Pottery Barn.

We worked around the existing art of the Atlanta skyline.

Before......

I love the vintage notary stamp I found while scouting around for some patina.....

Another trick is to use some baskets to add texture.  Too many books or accessories can look messy!

All in all it was a hit and nothing makes me happier than to see my clients happy!

I am so happy to be able to share some design with y'all.....believe it or not I have been busy but sometimes it takes a while to get to this point in a project!

13 days until I take off for Nantucket!  I am pretty pumped to take a little break.  My neighbor likes it because she will get to boss me a round and nothing makes her happier:)

Camilita is lying beside me with the death stare as she is ready for her walk so let me run!

Be back soon!

SHOPPING AT POTTERY BARN

Lord y'all....I am in the weeds and trying to dig out but I feel like I am using a spoon instead of a shovel....haha.

I am putting together a whole house and trying to find something IN STOCK is impossible.  Seriously the "supply chain" is gone and  NO ONE HAS INVENTORY!

I am getting lead times like 16-18 weeks!

What the actual heck?  Helppppppppp!

I mean I have looked at all the usual vendors that I use and even moved on to "big box" vendors that I usually only use for accessories!

Excuse me while I have a "hissy fit"......

Anyway......I was desperate and jumped on to Pottery Barn.  Hmmmmm.....I did find a few things I liked as far as furniture goes so I thought I would share!

Let's start with coffee tables....I love every one of these and could get to styling them up!

Here are 2 more that struck my fancy!
Y'all know I love some texture and of course this white one has my name on it....

Next up are table lamps....thoughts?  Those iron ones are pretty amazing.....and of course I have used the glass ones.

I love these black jar lamps also.

Next up are pillows.....The thing is.... I like to use the solid ones and then add some "pow" fabric mixed in!

#designertip

The first ones are wonderful linen and I use them all the time!

What actually started the search was a quest for a black bed which I found but it is just a little to "farmhousy" for this project.

But.....check out some of these other great beds!

Loving this black nightstand but it is just a little too distressed for this project.  Damn.

Whats a girl to do?  Who wants to wait 5 months for a sofa....I am not kidding!  And stores that sell off the floor are suddenly NOT......because they can't get more merchandise.  Uh Huh....truth.

On the one hand I have plenty of design business but on the other had I am looking at them.....scared to say uh......I can get this for you in 2022.

And then duck as they throw something at me or punch me in the face.

I did order this cute bed from CB2 which they say will be here in late May.....we shall see!

And this great mirror [CB2] for  over a foyer chest which WAS IN STOCK!  Whoa....give me a bullhorn so I can shout it to the world!

Haha....the person before me probably bought the last one.

Anyway the struggle is real people.....designers everywhere are going crazy.  Include me on that statement.

Shacrazy [but that is not news]

PORCH INSTALL

As I mentioned I had another round of mediation on Wednesday....my brain has been wrapped around all the things still up in the air with my divorce agreement.

Lord.....give me the strength to get through this s#*t.....those were my thoughts all day.

But....here I am still alive and kicking....pushing through the fire:)

But wait.....that is not why I didn't post.  I had a small install on Tuesday morning at the crack of 9:00.  OK.....smirk if you want because 9:00 is not that early Sherry.

Well I can't load up my car any more at night because of the break in [I don't have a garage] so everything had to be done in the AM.  I have a very needy dog that if not walked will cuss me out.  So blah blah blah....but it was also raining so it was like the trifecta!

Anyway I do have some pictures of the porch so there's that!

This was a renovation that I have been working on all spring and summer!  The iron doors separating the family room and the covered porch fold all the way back so it almost becomes one room!

I started with the main furniture which was from Lee Industries outdoor collection.  One sofa and 4 swivel chairs.

This Woodbridge fliptop table will come in handy for outdoor dinners....it opens up to a full table and can be just moved out......

I had ordered this Pottery Barn coffee table a while back and stumbled across this small rug at HomeGoods a few days before the install.  It added so much coziness to the space!

The pillows and throws also came from Pottery barn.

I forgot to bring my steamer but I think these wrinkles with fall out naturally!

You can see a smaller porch which is the cooking area right off the kitchen....

While the slipcovers on the sofa and chairs is outdoor fabric the pillows and throws are not.  It would take a pretty windy rain to reach the middle of this porch.  The rug is outdoor though.....

This little nugget is very happy with the results....

A busy family of 3 boys and a dog.....everything had to be able to withstand a lot of wear and tear!

The family room furniture is on the way and I can't wait for that install.

So it's Friday.  Raise your hand if that makes you happy?  I am going to workout this morning....take the queen for a walk and try to organize my life.....with the latter probably taking more than a day for sure.....:)
