HIGH POINT FURNITURE MARKET HIGHLIGHTS

Whew....well I am back from Market.  Crazy jam packed days but more fun than I can put in words:)

My partners in crime were Erika, Jennifer and Lori.

Let me set the scene for you.....

Country Inn Suites

Here we are in the furniture capital of the country and this is our decor....but in all honesty they were so nice and the location was perfect....so you make concessions right?

Day one....we hit Lee Industries first.  I have been selling Lee for years and was excited to see some of their new designs.

Also how stoked was I to find out that I had been featured in their "Best of Instagram" along with Jennifer and Erika!

Kapow.  It's like Christmas:)

A few chairs that caught my eye.  Who else has a chair addiction?

Next up was Currey and Co.  I was looking for some light fixtures for a client [I feel like I am always looking for light fixtures!]

Some contenders for the DR

Then I got all crazy and thought what about this for over the long island.....just 2 on either side as the hood is in the middle..[the ceilings are tall]

For the foyer I was digging these 2

Kara Cox generously invited us over to her home along with some other designers on Friday night. I'm pretty sure she didn't know me but I was traveling in the cool crowd so that was a perk:)

What a treat.....Her home was featured in Domino recently.

It's a beauty huh?  Check out her website for more good stuff!

Here are a few I took....

Loved this carpet

Cute wallpaper in a small bath downstairs.

I took these shoes I had ordered from Nordstroms.
They were pretty comfy but definitely not all day.

But.....I did see a cute pair on someone that is next on my list to buy.

OK you know I got more.  Pictures and funny stories.  There was major laughter.....like side splitting .....wake up in the middle of the night stuff.

Hope you guys have a great week.....it's back to the grind for me.

HAPPINESS

OK.....first things first.  You might not know that I  have had a long love affair with Schumachers Pyne Hollyhock fabric.

What?

You did know that?  Of course you did because I blubber on about it like someone who hears voices.

It's finally here...the WALLPAPER!

I kept going in the showroom.... like a kid waiting for Christmas....and it got to the point where all they did was shake their head and I would sulk out.

On Friday I came around the corner to this....

Oh mommie......could you die.  Now I know I can't put it in my house because I have curtains and pillows but you can bet I will be pushing this on clients like the corner crack dealer.

It comes in gray also.....said in a "sing songy" voice:)

I am sure when the showroom girls came around the corner to see what the commotion was they saw me dancing and skipping like a 4 year old in a tutu.

Please share in my excitement.

But wait....there is more goodness for you.

Imperial Trellis in black

Chiang Mai in new colors [wallpaper]

And more.....

Hello beautiful trim.....

New fabrics

And.....wait for it....

Overwhelming right?  That is a lot of goodness up in here....

On Sunday my friend Erika asked me to help style a project  being photographed for her portfolio.  I hope I am not bursting your bubble when I tell you that those images in magazines is not really how people live.

You can go here to see her take on the day!  It was so much fun jumping around and squealing when we felt like we had a great shot.  Of course the homeowner was there and had that "deer in the headlights" look on her face when were started moving everything around.

It's all about natural light and a little smoke and mirrors.

That's it guys.....
Have a great week.

AMERICAN CRAFT COUNCIL SHOW

It's the 25th year for the American Craft Council Show which is at the Cobb Galleria Center this weekend  [Friday through Saturday].

The ACC show in Atlanta draws thousands of fine craft collectors around the Southeast [which include 240 of the country's top craft makers under one roof] showing jewelry, clothing, furniture and home decor.

One of the shows components is featuring some of Atlanta's top designers in an exhibition called Make Room, Modern Design Meets Craft-Let's Entertain.

Think White Box Challenge but instead of a roll of toilet paper and a bag of lettuce they each got a piece of craft for inspiration.

So much better.

I have 2 friends who participated and they sent me some images of their room.

Erika Ward [Erika Ward Interiors

Part of her inspiration was the Red Totem Quilt by Cindy Grisdela who has been quilting for 25 years.

I love how Erika used it on the chair.

The art by Aaron Henderson [Zucot Gallery] adds some more razzmatazz to her space.

Erika painted the walls Arctic Night by Glidden and Mitchell Gold & Bob Williams provided the chairs and the yellow lamp.

I'm ready for my martini [extra dirty with 3 olives] please:)

Lori May [Lori May Interiors

Lori and I did the Inspiration Show House last year together.  She had a few inspiration pieces in her room.

The wooden chair in the right corner is by Derek Hannigar from Columbus, Ga.

The art over the sofa is by Lynn Pollard who is local to Atlanta.

The vase is by Jim Whalen which pairs nicely with all of Steve Mckenzie's beautiful furniture and accessories!

Love the flowers.....

These are only 2 room and I believe there are 10 of them so there will be plenty of eye candy....

The hours are:
Friday 10am-8pm
Saturday 10am-6pm
Sunday 11am-5pm

Cobb Galleria Center

Hope y'all have a 5 star weekend!

Some changes are happening at Sherika's house...

That is all I can say right now.

Shaboom!
