THIS AND THAT

Remember me?  Yep.... kind of fell off the grid there for a moment but it's summer so I am sure no one noticed:)

We took a little spin up to Chicago [Naperville] to to visit my husbands Dad who is 98 but first we dropped off Cami at her favorite "home away from home"!

Where I can safely say my phone battery dies everyday while I am watching her on "doggy cam":)

Her best friends Mom sent me this....

The cutest huh?

We stayed at Hotel Indigo right on the river and it was very nice!

Y'all.....this visit was just a little depressing.  20 years ago I might not have felt that way but at my age......I see reality looming in the future.....

And I am not happy about it.  This is not what I have in mind.....

Lined up in wheelchairs watching [and I use the term loosely] movies, and playing bingo.  In your room you have a bed, chest and chair.  So look around and drink in all of your pretty decorating because in the end.....it's not gonna really matter.

I think I need to stop exercising because I do not want to live this long.  Here is the text I sent my sister....

I noticed that the ratio was 10 women to 1 man living there and same with the caretakers.  I turned to my husband and commented how important "we" [women] are to society.

This is how I closed out that night....

We saw lot's of family....my brothers daughter Cat who lives in the city.  Since we live in Atlanta we drive everywhere and decided to drive into Chicago....what the heck were we thinking?  And that is what everyone said to us.  Stupid tourist.

And how ironic that I picked up this book to read....it's good but of course you know how it is going to end which is sad.

Are y'all ready for some good news yet?  I mean right?

Well next Monday one of my projects is getting photographed for Southern Home!

It's owned by Hoffman Media and I am pretty pumped!

I went house hunting with a friend....which I could do everyday all day.

All stairs will now be painted white with cute runners [this one from Dash and Albert].  It won't hurt to have brick floors at the bottom either.

This homeowner painted these dining room walls.....yes please.

Of course I love a good gallery wall but grids are my jam....

The one she ended up purchasing had these window treatments in the bedroom.....we were all fighting over them until she turned and said "um I'm keeping these babies"....

Oh yeah....of course....right.

AND.....you might notice that I had a little blog refresh!  My favorite girl Shari from Little Blue Deer worked her magic!

I like to just call her up and say "do your thing".....

OK....enough about my life.  Back to deliveries, design plans and getting through the Atlanta humidity with my hair.

THIS AND THAT

After getting back from Boulder last Friday I feel like I have been playing catch up all week!  Unfortunately I only have 14 days until I go on vacation for 9 days [Antigua, Guatemala].   A real one....not Florida where I usually work 50% of the time:)

Y'all it has been about 7 years or so since I have gone anywhere but the "sunshine state"......

To say I am stressed is an understatement.  First up is leaving Cami.  I know she will be fine at Dog Days but it is gonna kill me.  Then of course there is just the whole packing...."leaving my routine" gig.  Throw in the plane ride and it's not going to be pretty.

#normalproblems.

Anyway.....my week.  I ran into Schumacher to drop off bags of fabric samples and took a quick look at some new fabrics....

This is how I get distracted....hee haw.

I love this new color way of Pearl River!  Have you ever seen so many beautiful shades of blue:)

New Celerie Kemble wallpaper!

Just a whole lot of goodness right there.

Y'all remember this dining room I have been working on? "Curtain gate"

Just check out the art that we commissioned from Andrea Costa

It's getting framed and will be installed next Friday.  Whoop.

Picking out door hardware for a project!

Rocky Mountain Hardware is incredible!  You can custom any piece AND they come in all of these finishes.

Inside door hardware from Emtek.

And of course no week is without problems....

After  visiting one of my construction projects....I noticed these bookshelves in the master were no bueno.  That dead space on both sides is NOT going to work....stay tuned to see how we work this one out!

And there you have it...

But I leave you with something funny!

I hate spiders.....who's with me?

DOGS AND GARDENS

I am sure you are thinking what is gonna happen with this post right?

Well I love both....does that count?

First up is the question I know all of you have asked yourself and that is "what the heck does Sherry do with her dogs when she goes out of town?"

Well I'm happy you asked that question because I would like to share with you my solution.

Dog Days Atlanta has been around since 1999 and gets voted every year as the best daycare/boarding facility in Atlanta.

I have known Lee and John [the owners] since the beginning and they are a wonderful couple...plus they love dogs!

They have daycare, boarding, grooming, and webcam so you can watch your babies all day if you want.

Recently they have added Serenbe Adventures to the menu.

Yup....they take your dogs down to Serenbe for a field trip!

Just look at these happy dogs.
I pulled some great images from their Instagram.
Is this a happy face or what?
Swimming....
Hiking....

Seriously isn't this the coolest thing?  If you are interested just give them a call today 404 266 8668. [They do it Mon-Fri].

Gardens....well not the grow your food kind.

I was out in the yard with my dogs the other morning and took a few shots of a fading flower.

Amazing that it can go from white to this beautiful shade of pink.

Geez....moochie girl is getting a lot of press this week.

I put this picture a while back on Instagram and thanks to Loi I know know what to call this thing other than a sundial! Amillary.

Mine is a little rusted now.
And the arrow fell off a while ago.....but I still have it.

Picked it up at Scott's over 15 years ago.

I decided to google them to see some more.
Phoebe Howard

My advice is get yourself one.

Well...just a little diversion from interiors today:)

Have a day to shout about.
