CATCHING UP

Well...hello there friends!

Yes.....December came and went and I have to tell you that it was a hard month.  Something about the holidays make me sad.  I think it could be many things but probably missing my sister.

But hey....everyone struggles at some time or another so we have to just keep moving forward!

I made a trip out to Boulder to visit family!  I had not been anywhere since last May when I went to Nantucket.

Always anxious to leave Cami and sure enough she got sick while I was gone but my dog sitter [who lives in my neighborhood] took her to the emergency vet and all was well.  Of course they never get sick during the daytime......right.

I was starting to think Boulder was cursed for me as I was there when my husband left me and when I got the news that my sister was going into hospice.

We made a trip to Vail for 2 nights!

So much fun!

I was happy to see this little bugger when I got home!

Before I left I had a small porch install for a friend who was having a party.

I added a bigger wall sconce and some texture with the large planters!

Below is the old one.....

Below is another before....

And the after...new rug and pillows plus a different table in between the chairs.

All the plants were refreshed which made a big difference!

Another before below....the new pillows which I found on Etsy also helped to give it a more cohesive look....

I also like the larger outdoor light from Currey and Co.

And there you have it....this was in late November:)

I am not even going to say that I will be better....cause it never fails that I don't.  So let's keep the expectations low...and maybe we will be surprised:)

As always thanks for reading and just so you know....Blogger will not send out blogs anymore so that's that.

It's always something....right!

BOULDER BATHROOM UPDATE

Well it's that time of year when no one is reading blogs but the I'm still going to crank out a meager attempt of a before and after.....except when you get to the end and you are waiting for the big reveal....it might leave you scratching your head.

What I mean is it's not quite finished but that is because it is out in Boulder and I can't just scoot over and get a few quick shots.

Here is where we started....I think you will remember this one [you can read about the plan here and here ].

I know we were all in agreement that this was not a bad bathroom and with maybe a new light fixture it and some magic zhushing she could be purdy.

So I put together a plan right here in Atlanta that Greg would implement in Boulder for me!  He's talented like that:)

Starting with the floors.....

That large hex tile is so pretty in person trust me!

The shower got a new look with the blue gray subway tile.

We had to tweak the counter top selection....but then the Thibaut wallpaper went up and everyone agreed it might be the star of the show!

I selected the Kohler Purist faucet in black.

And these beautiful Circa Lighting sconces....

These hammered cabinet knobs...

And here is where the story takes a dive....this is the most recent shot.

The vanity had just been painted so it looks a little green but actually it's a dark gray.

I turned the lights off so you could get a better idea of the cabinet color.

It's sad..... not to see it all ready for it's closeup but that is the problem with long distance decorating right?

We need the mirror and a cool rug at the very least!  I'm working one it.....

Sunday I went to my friends house for our annual "secret santa" lunch.  Her table was beautiful....

We had a try on session with her new coat which was so pretty!

I wore my plaid J Crew shirt with an animal scarf which was a hit!  My shoes were Naturalizer and they are so comfy!

I'm off to Bach Fitness and today is leg day....ugh.

Thanks to everyone who gave me some good suggestions for what to watch next.  After this week of the "before Christmas craziness" I plan on relaxing next week and maybe do some binge watching!

Thanks for all of your comments and words of support :)

THIS AND THAT

Sorry this post is late....but guess what?  I am sick again.  I know....wtf.  This is getting ridiculous and I am now a firm believer that stress DOES make you sick.  I eat right....drink moderately....exercise and take vitamins.  The 2 factors that I think are the cause..... is lack of sleep and the stress.

Damn.  Damn.  Damn.

And of course I am out here in Boulder.

On Sunday when I arrived the stairwell light fixture [Circa Lighting] was getting installed.

Let me just say it was a bear to get up but oh so worth it!

These pretties got installed on the wall....

Also the Currey and Co Serpentina in the DR

The bathroom is coming along....

They were painting the vanity yesterday.

That night Greg and I went to dinner at The Kitchen.  It was so good!

The Sticky Toffee Pudding will put you in a coma.

No lie.

And they are definitely ready for the holidays...

The snow started around 3 on Monday and this was 8:00.

It snowed all night....

Seriously about 13 inches!  Which since we are house bound today gives me time to do this post!

It was a busy week getting ready to leave town.  I picked up some art from a new gallery....Jennifer Balcos Gallery here in Atlanta.

Can't wait to get the other pieces framed and hung!

Got this wallpaper hung with some new lighting and now I have to find the perfect mirror and accessories....the hard part of course:)

These gorgeous curtains were hung on Friday.

And ordered some pretty pillow fabrics for the LR

On Thursday night I went to an event at The Hotel Clermont put on by Fabricut/S. Harris fabrics.  Had such a delicious dinner!

Got a glimpse of a project that was featured in Atlanta Magazine home.

So excited to show you the rest of the images.

Also checked on a Ladisic Fine Homes project that I am working on....look at this stairwell!

The furniture got delivered for my sisters porch and I had 5 minutes on Sat to throw it together....More time for zhushing when I get home!

Happy Thanksgiving to the Jacksons....this image taken a few year ago at my sisters.

My dog sitter sent me this picture of Cami....she seems to be doing OK without me....haha

I hope all of you will be celebrating Thanksgiving with family this year....I am excited to be here with my Boulder crew....even though I am sick.  I could let out a string of cuss words about that but then you would have a different view of me:)

And of course the Black Friday sales....which have morphed into black Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and so on.

Hugs and Love to all of my friends out there!
