BEDROOM UPDATE AT PROJECT TOWNHOUSE

Well hello peeps!  I've missed you.....but I was down for a while with Covid!  Yup...I was kind of lax getting my booster and I actually thought it was just a cold as those were my symptoms but I noticed my taste and smell were off so that is what made me go to the drugstore and get a test.

Luckily the few people I did have some contact with were not infected...... except Rose....and I like to share everything with her anyway:)  What was weird was that our symptoms were SO different....She had a fever and I never got one....and she did not lose her smell or taste.

Anyway I still have the sniffles but feel pretty good over all.  A little tired in the afternoons....

I have a little update on one of my fav projects....it's the one that I did the bathroom for! I am sure all of you have been hearing about the supply chain problems so of course furniture has been slowly trickling in.

I am so used to getting it all in and then doing a major install but at this time I just don't want people to be waiting for things any longer.....

Anyway the bed finally arrived and I remember being so angst about ordering a camel colored bed but in the end I trusted my gut and boy am I glad I did!

This is the bed style I ordered from Bernhardt called the Cooper Wing Bed.

Remember when I installed this amazing Romo wallpaper on just the bed wall?

She already had these lamps so I just got some new shades...and that was an improvement right away!

I ordered these Noir night stands...I needed something that was not too deep as there is a closet door on one said and these were perfect.  Plus I knew I wanted black as they also had this amazing MCM dresser that they wanted to keep!

This is the dresser.....

Here is a closeup of the blinds I ordered....

After the light fixture was installed I found the most amazing vintage rug that was perfect!

Here is a closeup of the bed with the wallpaper....I don't know about you but I am in love!

And here she is in all of her glory.....I think the rug is the shining star!

I love when I room looks curated and I think one has that feeling with some vintage mixed in with the new....

She had the art so I hung it but it will eventually go in the bathroom as I found an amazing piece for this wall.  Need to get it framed first!

I also found a chest for under the TV....I looked long and hard for this as it needed to blend with both the MCM dresser and the black nightstands....

It still has a clean look but it is a darker finish than the dresser.....they really need storage since this  downsizing and I was so happy to find it!

I have been playing around with some accessories!

I also found an amazing mirror to go over the dresser but have not had a chance to get it hung yet!

Of course now I am in a dither to find a  lamp and some accessories.  It's always something:)

So it's been a little over 3 months since I lost my sister to cancer.  I still walk by her house everyday and think all the same things that everyone else thinks when they lose a loved one too soon.....I wish I could pick up the phone and call her.  As a family we are about to spend Thanksgiving in her new kitchen and it will be such a bittersweet moment as she had been talking about this renovation for a couple of years.

I think the thing about death is... it's hard to realize sometimes how final it is....and of course there is always thoughts of "could I have done more"....other medical treatments that we could have tried....

Maybe it would have extended her life a few months but the outcome would have eventually been the same.

Hope you guys are all well.....

THIS AND THAT

Well here we are....a few days before Christmas and I am making the effort to change out my pillows instead of putting up Christmas decor.

Priorities people:)

I've had these covers forever and I was just feeling frisky yesterday.  I should have used that energy to put up my wreath....I'll get to it!

I can tell you it was a busy week of furniture delivery and mini installs.

This great Bernhardt table was delivered along with the Bungalow 5 chairs danish white chairs!

The seats will be covered in this Thibaut fabric that is being backed and waterproofed!  The rug is also performance!

My friends had a Secret Santa party and they just moved in their new house....
Check out this situation....there is not much I like better than a window inside of the house.

They are also not afraid of color....
We played this game....

So fun....you can find it on Amazon.

If you live in Atlanta you have probably heard of Pollen Flowers and Goods.  I was in there the other day and just didn't want to leave!

You know I wanted that black and white stool!

Yes....I did get some wrapping done and I practice what I preach using Targets black box with black velvet ribbon!

And it was a Christmas Miracle because I finally emptied out my Pinewood Forest showhouse....3 months later.

I always spend time going to vintage shops when I looking for the perfect thing for a client..... and last week between installs....I was out and about.

Two awesome chairs....worlds apart right!

Palm Beach style....

These cute little risers are everything!

I wracked my brain thinking of a place for this cute little rug.....

And of course you know I loved this black and white bench!

I'm gonna leave you with this incredible tree decorated by my friend Jennifer Schoenberger who can rock some Christmas decor!

And if I don't say it enough.....thank you for reading....In February I will enter my 9th year of blogging.  How the heck have I stuck with this for so long....who am I?

Have the biggest fattest Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday you can muster up.

BEFORE AND AFTER

Back from vaca and all renewed!  Of course I obviously did not get my s*#t together so I didn't post on Friday.....buy hey give a sister a break right:)

Part of the problem is that internet is sketchy down there in La Antigua......that's my excuse and I am sticking to it.

Anyway more on my trip later.....today I have a little before and after for ya.

As in a master bedroom......which as we all know....somehow is always the last room that gets done!

Let's just dive right in....and please forgive crappy iPhone pictures.

Before

No judging....The first thing we did was put in hardwood floors to match the hallway.

But then we wanted a large carpet for coziness and the fact that she has an older dog who occasionally has "accidents" I used some inexpensive cut yardage to be practical.

I ordered this bed from Bernhardt Interiors.

These were some of the fabrics I started playing around with.....

I also ordered this bench from Amazon...

To be recovered and put under the window....

I picked out some pretty bedding from Pine Cone Hill....and used the Thibaut fabric for the pillow shams.

Another before.....

Because the light fixture had not been installed yet! And I had nothing for over the bed.

The real after!

So much better!

This Currey and Co semi flush is perfect for 8 ft ceilings!

Before

I added some color and pattern by using the Thibaut fabric in the curtains!  Kind of a change up for me as I usually do a neutral.

Who am I.....ha ha
After.....
We painted the walls Ben Moore White Dove....duh.

And added a Schumacher wallpaper on the bed wall for a little interest.

Before

After

I love how the bench turned out.

We also have new 4" plantation shutters coming.

I got these prints at HomeGoods but I needed to have them reframed.  The white was way too stark and I wanted them to be a little bigger.

Here they are.....much better huh? The colors were perfect and again adding another modern aspect!

These Pottery Barn Lamps....
I have the same bedside chest from Bernhardt Interiors.
I kept it symmetrical using the same on each side.

And I added a little stool for necessities :)

We also kept her original dresser and had the TV [she got a larger one] mounted.

Before

After

I've tried a lot of things over a bed but somehow a round object seems to work....#onetrickpony

And there you have it....

On Friday a full recap on my trip to La Antigua with my sisters!

I just heard on TV that there is 14 days until Christmas....whoa.
