THIS AND THAT

I don't know how it got to be Sunday again....to be honest I have been struggling with writing my blog lately.  It is hard to pretend that everything is always hunky dory....and sometime I feel like when I read it over....it sounds a little forced...

I am sure y'all don't notice it.  I can tell that I have a little  "low grade" depression and it feels like I need to save all of my energy for work because I have to do that!

I am sure it will pass....as I just keep plugging along because as I have said before and as trite as it sounds TIME is the great healer.

OK....here is whats up.

I started the Netflix series called The Serpent.  Now to be honest I called my sister after episode one [she had already finished it] and said should I keep going?

But she assured me that it would be good so I plowed into episode 2.  She was right.  I have finished 5 episodes now and I want to go in there and finish it but I also want something to watch tonight so I am holding off.  I will tell you that it moves back and forth through some years but you will figure that out pretty quickly.

It is based on a true story and the music and fashion was a draw for me!

Next up is this little situation I purchased from a flea market to go in a loft area for a client.  Since the wait time is so long for upholstery...I thought to go in another direction!  I can not wait to put this area together!

Just think rug and accessories....etc!

At the same house I had the runner installed and it looks so darn good!  It is by Stanton.

So classic....looks like a mans tweed suit.

I was at Kravet last week searching for fabrics and they had a new wallpaper book.  It also has matching fabrics.

They are all drawn by a little boy who has autism...I mean how cute are those giraffes anyway.

Y'all know how much I love my coffee table which is similar to this wood [not shape] and I saw this one at a flea market the other day....swoon!

I also saw this great hand painted lamp...I am assuming. Stunning.

Here is what has been keeping me up at nights....and that is putting together a lighting plan.  If y'all think this is easy I am here to say nope.

I always want a good mix of gold....dark and silver.  Plus you have to figure out which ones will all be in a site line so that it doesn't look busy.

And one more thing...I am excited to be using this wallpaper....

I know...who am I?  I mean this is every color in the book!

Oh but wait there is one more thing.  Take a seat for this one because surprise....it is about cooking.  I have made this soup/stew about 10 times.  To the point where I can get the ingredients from memory.

There you have it.  Just random thoughts and events but hey it's better than a sharp stick in the eye.

I'm not quitting but just know that my post might be sporadic for a bit.

THIS AND THAT

Ima be all over the place today.  Just a little insight into my brain....haha

I am at the beginning of a lot of projects which makes me feel like I am untethered because as we all know....there are infinite possibilities.  That makes my brain feel like I am a fish on the end of the dock flip flopping all over the place.

I need that one piece of inspiration to pull in the reigns and get me back on the straight road.

Some friends of mine are developing this land into 4 residences.

The one circled will be their own residence!

Saturday I was over their discussing the trim package....think walls ceiling etc.  We went over the kitchen cabinets [can't wait to see the plan] and fireplace surrounds.

Kind of excited about all of this goodness!

Next up is my friend and "builder extraordinar"  Michael Ladisic!  His new office.  He took a traditional house and added this cool entry on it.

A space about 11 ft by 11 ft with iron windows.

I put together a plan....

Kind of tribal.... modernish.....texturish.

I went to Spotlight On Art [now through Feb 3rd] with a client looking for a large piece of art for her bedroom but struck out.  We managed to find this pretty piece though and I love it!

If you remember a while back I talked about a new development in Fayetteville, Georgia called Pinewood Forest.   I finally took a trip down there to preview and WOW!

It's about 20 minutes south of Atlanta airport and it is going to be a killer neighborhood.  I love love the design of the homes.....

The model had some great details.....

The kitchen had this travertine countertop and it was a refreshing site after marble everywhere...I love the warmer tones...

This iron shelf got me.....

But these black and white cups.  Oh yes.

Anytime I can hang a crusty mirror.

Concrete countertops has me wanting.....

Of course I am a sucker for old wood thingys.

I had an epiphany that this light would look good in my house somewhere!

Leaving Fayetteville and heading to ADAC where I got some good inspiration at the Ainsworth and Noah showroom

This stripe goodness mixed with cream, black and white truly has my name on it.

This mohair sofa.....hubba hubba

LOVE......

Wood parsons dining table and chairs.....always classic.

Nice custom cabinet cover.....

Uh huh....all day!

I'm working on another condo and like I said....I am loving the warm tones of beige now.

And I have been plowing through 6 seasons of the Netflix show Call the Midwife.  Every time my husband comes in there is a woman screaming in childbirth....ha ha

When I walk Cami everyday I like to listen to something and this Podcast was addicting!

Crimetown

Oh my gosh....did you know that Providence, Rhode Island has a huge organized crime history and a mayor who after serving a couple of terms, went to prison .....then was re-elected again!

If you don't know this about me....I love anything true crime!

Who is this sweet face:)

OK you made it to Friday!  I think I will clean out all my closets this weekend.

Nah....JK.....that will never happen.

PROJECT DETAILS

I'm starting right out with this.

As far as Making A Murderer and Steven Avery... let me say this:  I do not know whether he is guilty or not.  Since watching it along with a million other people new information has surfaced that we didn't hear in the courtroom.  As I said before my feelings were that there seemed to be some injustices about the details of the investigation and trial.

So let's not jump to conclusions with the idea that I am all "Judge Judy" and would have him released from prison right away:)

OK....back to all things frivolous like design.

I have some good news for all of you local peeps.  This incredible project is going to be on the Cathedral Tour of Homes on Feb 7th!  You will have the opportunity to see the whole house.

That being said...... I am busy working on some of the rooms that we neglected after the big push to get the downstairs finished.

I have had 3 major deadlines with the first one getting the downstairs done for the Junior League Tour last March.  Then we took a small breather and had another big push to get it ready for the photoshoot in October.

Now in 3 short weeks we have another tour and another deadline.  Geez....it is a good thing I work well under pressure.

I am working on 2 areas right now....the girls loft and a large bedroom.

Here is the loft during construction.  Through that doorway is the bedroom which is pretty large.  It has 2 queen beds in it.

A more completed view from the other direction.  Through the doorway are 2 additional bedrooms and an upstairs laundry room.  On the left you can see the glass half wall.  The curtains in the DR start up here!

The ceilings are painted SW Repose Gray

And this light fixture from RH was hung.

In the bedroom....3 large Currey and Co chandeliers.

This Mitchell Gold sofa shown here in their rental [while they built their dream house!] will get new life after being re-upholstered

Here it is in their former family room.

Repurpose right!  There are actually 2 of these sofa's so one is going in the girls loft.

There are 2 of these chairs [that were in the LR of the old house] also going into the bedroom.

You can see them flanking the FP in the old LR.

This coffee table shown in the rental.....

Shown here in their old family room....will be used and painted white.

I kind of built my plan around this art that we will use in the bathroom right off the bedroom.....

With these floors that kill me every damn time I see them.  Tile from Renaissance.

So are you totally confused now?  Well here is the plan.  I am using this Jim Thompson No. 9 fabric called Indore Garden for all my pillows.  It has a little beige in it that will go nicely with the chairs.  It also has some white which is on the walls.....and the bedding.

I posted this yesterday when I found the turquoise fabric for the sofa.  I know.....are you shocked I am doing a sofa other than white?  Yep.....stepping outside the box here folks.  I'm nothing if not daring right?  My new nickname is "color queen".

Hee Haw.

The curtains are gonna be white with this trim down the leading edge.

Still have a lot more details to work out like lamps....accessories etc.

Here is a before shot....
Two white iron beds.....and each side has similar antique wood chest.

Stay tuned for more updates because this puppy has to be finished by Feb 6th.....yes 27 days.

More details on the girls loft later......Lucky for me I found the fabric for both sofas and curtains yesterday at Fabric and Fringe Warehouse .

I'm on it.
