Bon, finalement j'ai quelques photos qui ne montrent pas les décos de Noel de Vaux. Pour le moment je vais en poster des simples en attendant d'en poster davantage le 22! Vous pourrez aussi voir les deux supers costumes de Noel de mes deux coupines Perrine et Sarah :)

J'avais prévu de le renforcer d'un fil de fer tout au long de la bordure mais en fait il en avait déjà une!!! Cette étape serait l'étape numéro 1 si vous avez une capeline vraiment molle.


A little making of for the Duchess hat! You'll need one hour.

First of all, I've bough a $4 hat here:

I wanted to add a wire all around the hat border but the hat already had one !!!

It would be the first stpe if you have a slouch hat.

J'ai commencé par découper deux ronds de laine (la même que pour le reste de mon costume car le but était d'avoir un chapeau assorti!)  de la taille de mon chapeau, je les ai cousu ensemble et je les ai retournées comme un gant. Il faut faire un trou au milieu et insérer le chapeau dedans, j'ai utilisé de la colle à tissu pour que la laine tienne bien au chapeau.

I've started by cutting 2 circles in my blue wool and sewed them together. Then I've turned it inside out and I've putted the hat inside (don't forget to cut a circle in the middle :P). I've glued it with fabric glue. 

Le chapeau n'a pas aimé le transport / the hat didn't like the air transport

 Les deux cercles de laines cousus ensemble avec une ouverture pour laisser passer le chapeau/ Il ne faut pas oublier de faire un cercle au milieu pour laisser passer la partie bomée du chapeau et votre tête! / The two circles sewed together with an ouverture. Don't forget to cut a circle to the hat can be inserted.

 On attend que la colle prenne / Waiting for the glue to dry.

Ensuite j'ai coupé un rond dans mon tissu plus clair pour faire une grosse charlotte. Je l'ai fait de la taille d'un chapeau mais j'aurais du le faire bien plus grand ce cercler car au final c'était trop petit. Mais par flemme, et parce que j'avais beaucoup de choses à mettre dessus j'ai gardé cette taille là. Au moins comme ça vous ne ferez pas comme moi! Ensuite il faut froncer le cercle et le coudre au chapeau.

Then, I've cutted a circle in my other fabric to make a big mobcap. Mine is large like the hat you can see on the pic but is was obviously TOO small. If you ever make one, make it bigger. In my case I knew that I was going to hide it with many thigs so I haven't start again. Shame on me. Gathe the circle and sew it ti the hat.

 Le cercle coucu au chapeau. Notez que normalement ça devrait être beaucoup plus gros. Là mon chapeau est juste ridicule. /The circle sewn to the hat. Notice how small and ridiculous it is. It should be REALLY bigger.

Là c'est le moment où je n'avais plus d'appareil photo pour continuer le making of car mon chéri en a eu besoin, mais il ne s'agit ensuite que de coudre vos queues de renard et vos plumes comme ça vous arrange.

And now, it's the very moment when I don't have any camera to continue the making of since my lover needed it. But you don't miss a lot of things because it's the part when you sew your fox tails and your feathers at your convenience :)

Avancement Duchess

Ca fait un moment que je n'ai pas posté mais pourtant j'avais bien avancé le WE dernier!

It's been a while since I haven't posted anything about this gown but I've worked a lot on it last week:

 Le manchon en fausse fourrure / The muff (faux fur)

 Le costume et un morceau de fourrure pour avoir une idée des couleurs ensemble / The costume and a piece of fur just to have an idea of the colors together.

Riding habit (2) - Tournure

J'ai un petit peu avancé ce WE sur le riding habit. J'ai commencé la veste. J'ai inventé le patron et du coup ben.. c'est pas fameux. Je n'ai pas encore utilisé toutes les astuces donc je pense qu'on peut encore sauver quelque chose, mais les plis derrière ne me plaisent pas trop.
J'en ai fait moins que sur l'originale car je ne voulais pas me compliquer trop la tâche, et j'ai essayé de m'inspirer du caraco que j'avais fait il y a quelques années pour avoir un résultat un peu similaire :)

I've worked a little bit on the riding habit this WE. I've started the coat, and invented its pattern. Well.. it's not very good. I haven't tried anything yet so I still have hope to make it look better but I don't like the back pleats. 
There are less pleats than on the original coat, but it was already hard enough not to complicate the costume. I've been inspired by my first caraco pattern which has similar pleats in the back :)

Ma tournure rouge est finie, il reste peut-être à mettre une dragonne pour qu'on en marche pas sur ma traine :P
J'ai fait un petit test de coiffure absolument aléatoire. Je n'ai pas essayé d'imiter quoi que ce soit, c'était vraiment du grnad n'importe quoi et je suis plutôt contente! J'ai fait des petits chignons que j'ai sécurisés un peu partout à l'arrière de ma tête. J'ai fait une choucroute sur le dessus, j'ai mis des roses pour cacher la misère et le peigne que m'a offert ma sœur pour mon anniversaire : D Quant à la robe terminée..; Vous la verrez après Halloween :D
 

My red tournure is finished! I still have to add a loop to my train so I can avoid people to walk on my dress :P
I've made a little hairstyle test, it was absolutly random. I don't try to imitate anything in particuler. I've made many little buns, added volume on the front, used flowers to hide all the pins. I've also used my little sister's gift: the little comb :) And as for the dress... You'll see it after Halloween :D

Riding Habit

Coucou tout le monde!
Déjà sachez que ma tournure rouge est terminée, mais j'attends que le bal soit passé pour poster :D
J'en suis très très contente ! J'aime beaucoup le rendu et la traine papillon est un véritable rêve! La tournure bleue avance bien aussi, il y a beaucoup de déco, du coup je me penche dessus de temps en temps.

Hi everyone!
First of all, note that my red tournure is finished! I'm waiting the ball to post pics of the finished costume! I'm so proud of it! It turns pretty well and the butterfly train is like a dream! The blue Phantom of the Opera dress is also making good progress! I work on it very often, there are a lot of trims :)

Pour le moment je planche sur une tenue chaude pour Vaux à Noel. J'ai énormément bavé sur ce Riding Habit vu dans The Duchess:

For the moment, I'm working on a warm dress, which is a riding habit, seen in The Duchess. I'll wear it at Vaux le Vicomte on Christmas :)

J'ai donc acheté 6m de laine bleu marine, c'est plus qu'il ne faut mais au moins si je rate c'est pas trop mal! J'ai acheté un coton crème un peu satiné pour le corsage et j'ai fait une chemise en coton pour aller en dessous!

I've bought 6m of navy wool. It's a great lenght but it's good to know that I still have fabric if I fail XD I've also bought a cream shiny cotton for the bodice, and a white cotton for the shirt.

Je me suis lancé dans la chemise sans aucun patron, je m'en sors honorablement je pense :D
La laine est noire avec la mauvaise lumière de mon appart, mais elle est bien bleu marine en vrai.

The shirt as been made without any pattern, it's not so bad :D The wool seems black with this light, but it's navy.

Voilà la robe après un WE de travail.  Tout le passepoil à été posé à la main. J'en tremble encore.
Here's the dress after the 1st week end. The piping as been sewed by hand. It was horrible. 

J'ai mis un peu de dentelle au niveau du cou pour imaginer le rendu. Je ferai un joli noeud bien blanc et un jabot plus tard.

I've putted an ivory lace randomly at the neck just to imagine the render. I'll make a white bow with ruffles someday.

Pour la suite j'ai la trouille. Jusqu'ici je n'ai pas vraiment utilisé de patron.. Sauf piour les pièces du dos du gilet... Le manteau ce sera plus compliqué...

For the coat, I don't know.. I haven't used any pattern (execpt for the back of the jacket...). IT will be more complicated. And it affraids me.
