Valentine Shaker Card

Hello DeNami Friends!

Today I wanted to show you these tiny shaker cards that you could give to loved ones on Valentine's Day. I think the little owl holding a flower is just perfect for a Valentine's themed card.

First of all I die cut a little piece of mix media paper. I then applied a coralline ink with a blending tool trying to let it fade at the top of the panel. To give it a little bit more interest, I splashed some water droplets on the ink and dabbed it away shortly after. Then I die cut a circle that was large enough for the little owl. To create a shaker card, I adhered some acetate behind the circle window as well as enough foam tape to create the needed space for the shaker material.

Then I stamped the owl on white card stock with black ink and colored it in with alcohol markers. To finish off the card I used super tiny coralline star sequins and filled up the shaker card.

Monster Hugs Valentine's Day Card

Hi everyone! Francine here!
Today, I'm showcasing the Monster Love stamp set!

These three cute monsters are perfect for a Valentine-themed card! I started by coloring the image with Copic markers. I then cut it with sharp scissors. The tiny heart is also from the Monster Love set. I stamped it on a speech bubble and colored it in red. Next, I die cut a cloudy border from white cardstock and stamped the “Monster Hugs” sentiment on it with black ink. I glued a piece of patterned paper to a top-folded card base. To finish off my card, I adhered the monsters and the speech bubble with foam pads to the white panel and the white panel to the card base (also with foam pads). I really like how the red paper shows behind the cloudy border!

I hope you got inspired! Happy crafting!
Francine

Sending You Love Valentine Card

Hello DeNami Friends!

Today, I've got a Valentine card that is perfect to give a friend!  While at Starbucks the other day, I saw these cute heart gift cards, and I thought they would be so cute on a hand made card!  Immediately, I thought of 2 DeNami stamps that I thought would be perfect: CL-C118 Owl in a Tea Cup and CL-F171 Sending You Love.  I hope you like my non-traditional Valentine's day card!

I cut a piece of watercolor paper to make a top folding A2 sized card (11" x 4.5").  After scoring the paper in half, I masked off the back portion of the card base, and blended some coral ink.  I concentrated the color more on the bottom creating an ombre look.  Then I repeatedly stamped the Owl in a Tea Cup image with black ink.  On a few of the stamped images, I colored in the hearts with a glue pen, and sprinkled some Sparklets glitter on top.  After dusting off the excess, I set it aside to dry.  I die cut another piece of watercolor paper with  a rectangle stitched die.  I stamped my Sending You Love sentiment with Versamark ink and heat set with gold embossing powder.  I then popped up the sentiment piece up with foam tape and adhered it to the stamped coral card base.  I threaded some orange twine through the hole in the gift card, and attached it on top using just a tiny piece of foam tape, so it'll be easy for the recipient to remove.

Quick tip:  When repeatedly stamping, it's best to start in a corner and work out.  If you just randomly start stamping, you might get a few spots where your spacing is not quite right.

Adorable Valentine Owl Gift Box

Hello DeNami Friends!

Valentine’s day is coming up fast! If you need a quick and easy little gift for some one or for your kids to hand out at class this project is perfect for you!. I LOVE all DeNami’s valentine themed owls and you can use any of them for this project. This project takes about 10 minutes to complete one but you can easily mass produce if you want to do to make them for your kids class.

First, I used my milk carton die to cut out the box. You will need 2 pieces of the same paper and run it through you die cut machine twice to make the milk carton. To assemble the carton you can use any adhesive but I used a liquid adhesive. Leave the top of the carton open so that you can put treats or a small present in the carton. I stamped my owl and the “xoxo” on white cardstock in black ink. To color the owl, I used Copic Markers. I kept the coloring simple and didn’t do any shading because I didn’t think it was needed. I used a scalloped 1 1/2” circle punch to cut out the owl and adhered it to the carton with foam tape. I found these little clothes pins with Valentine sayings at my local craft store and used it to close the carton. TIP: for the clothes pin to hold the carton closed hold the lip of the carton and push downwards carefully. This will help the paper keep its shape and the clothes pin to keep the carton close. If you don’t do this there’s a good chance that the clothes pin will pop off! This happened to me a few times before I figured out! I hope that you enjoyed my project! Until next time!

Love Owl Valentine's Packaging and Tag

Hello, DeNami Friends!

It’s Lisa P kicking off another week of inspiration from the DT! This week we’re featuring DeNami’s totally adorable collection of Valentine’s Day Owls! Love, love, love these critters!!!

I bought a little Valentine’s Day gift for my 3-year-old niece and decided it would be fun to make my own hand-stamped wrapping paper. She loves owls (could have a little something to do with her mom working for the National Aviary), so it was a perfect fit for this week’s DT assignment.

I started by cutting a piece of white butcher paper big enough to fit the box I was going to wrap. Butcher paper is sold in rolls. I bought mine at Michael's, but if you Google it you can find other sources as well. I spread the paper out on my craft table and went to town stamping a bunch of Valentine’s Day Owls, hearts, and sentiments from DeNami’s Valentine’s Day Collection. I added color to the images with markers.

I used the paper to wrap my gift box:

Then, I created a coordinating tag. I die-cut some hearts from cardstock. I stamped one of the owl images in the center of the smallest heart and colored her with markers. I stamped Happy Valentine’s Day and To/From on the back of the scalloped heart and layered all of the hearts together. I added some sparkle with a clear glitter pen, punched a hole in the top and threaded some twine through. Here’s a look at the front and back of the tag:

To finish, I wrapped some baker’s twine around the gift package and attached the tag with a bow.

What do you think???

I hope you like my project for today and feel inspired to try hand-stamping your own wrapping paper!

Thanks for visiting!!!

Day 3 of DeNami's Sneak Peeks- Owl Love

Hi Friends,

I am delighted to share with you what I have been working on. I started out just playing with the stamps and then the vision came together and I ended up with this wonderful collection of projects.

I stayed with the Black, Red and White color theme, but gave it lots of dimension, shapes, sizes and texture.

They are all very simple to make. I mainly just used the Versafine Onyx Black ink pad and Tombow markers for all the coloring.

Here's what you will need:

J155 Sweetie Owl Scene (available January 5, 2015)
CR02 Monster Love Clear Stamp Set (I used the tiny heart) (available January 5, 2015)
E162 Love you Forever stamp
B122 Owl with Garland (available January 5, 2015)
C106 Owl Special Delivery (available January 5, 2015)
Versafine Onyx Black ink pad
PC21 White Cardstock
Red Cardstock
PC23 Black cardstock
N109 Polka Dot Border
Ribbon
Med Scallop Oval Punch
Large Scallop Oval Punch
1.5 inch Scallop circle punch
1 1/8 plain circle punch
CB600 Boutique boxes
Tombow markers
Scissors
ATG adhesive
Twine

I started with Black, Red and White Cardstock and stamped it with the new J155 Sweetie Owl Scene.

I stamped several more of the Sweetie Owl Scene to cut them out and add as dimension to the stamping.

I colored with Tombow markers to create the desired look. I always use a lighter marker and then add touches of the darker colors to add dimension and depth.

I made the smaller card and used an oval scallop punch in 2 sizes to create the dimensional frame.

For the Banner, I cut black strips of paper. I then cut them to the desired length and folded them in half and cut a point to create a diamond shape. I used white cardstock and using the black cardstock as my guide, I cut out the white cardstock the same angle as the black. I then attached ATG adhesive to the black diamonds and folded them around the red twine.

I then took the cut white cardstock, stamped them, then cut them and placed them on the black banners and cut off the excess.
This is just a mini banner, but you can create ones any size you desire. It really looks adorable. You can do a super mini one and attach it to a card.

For the cupcake toppers, punch out a 1.5 inch scallop circle or plain circle.Stamp the scallop circle on the white cardstock and punch out with a 1 1/8 inch punch.

Make two for every topper you want to have. Once you punch them out, assemble them using ATG adhesive.

These are perfect for any occasion. You can just use one and give a cupcake to a teacher, friend, neighbor... Or you can do many for parties.
They are very inexpensive to make, but look adorable.

To make the cupcake holder, cut a cardstock 5.5x5.5 inches. Score .75 inches around.
Cut at scored line until the cross scored line, as shown.

Stamp any of the "M" sized DeNami Circle stamps on the back side of the holder.

Using an Exacto knife, cut into quarters, then continue cutting, as shown. You will also want to score right along the circle so the cutouts fold nicely.

This shows why you score it and why it is stamped on the back. It has a more finished look.

You can put a real cupcake there. I didn't have one, so I just used my decorative cupcake to show how it works.

You can add colored borders to finish the look. Here I stamped the Polka Dot border in black.

I the put the cupcake and cupcake holder into the Large Boutique box. You can use this box for cupcakes, but also for ornaments, baseballs, a small pot, a candle...

If you like dogs better, you can easily adapt this to dogs, cats, birds, etc.
Enjoy making your version. Thanks for joining in on the Sneak Peek fun!

Valentine Love Chalkboard

Hello DeNami Friends!

It's Tammy here to share a sweet little card where I used the chalkboard technique.

I began with a red card base followed by adding some pieced patterned papers from my stash.  I took a length of red and white ribbon and created a loop at the top and laid down the center of the card. I snipped the bottom at the center for a decorative touch.

I matted a red die-cut circle onto a doily and placed in the center of the card front.  On black cardstock, I stamped the Heart Flower Trio and applied the Chalkboard Technique. A Spellbinders Label die was used to cut the image out. At the upper right of the card front, a sentiment banner was created using the same techinique. The sentiment is from the Love Sentiment Stamp set.

I am so glad you stopped by today! I hope this provides a little Valentine inspiration for you this week!

10 Minute Valentine Card

Greetings, DeNami friends! It's Emily here today on the DeNami blog. I've got a super quick and easy Valentine card to share with you today.

This truly is a 10-minute card, folks! It's all made possible by the elegant Oblong Doily Embossing Folder available in the DeNami store. I simply embossed the front face of my card base, and in an instant I had the perfect frame for a sweet Valentine message, stamped with DeNami's Small Valentines Script stamp in Satin Red Versafine ink. I rescued a honeycomb heart from a cupcake topper to use as an accent inside my pretty lace frame, and then added red pearls drawn on with a Crystal Lacquer Pearl Pen as my final touch. The hardest part of making this card was just waiting for the lacquer pearls to dry!

Thanks so much for stopping by today to take a peek at my little project! Have a happy Thursday,

Valentine Coupon Book

Happy Monday, DeNami friends!

Lisa P here with a cute idea for an inexpensive Valentine's Day gift using the tag card template that DeNami Design is sharing with customers who visit their booth at local craft shows.

It's a Valentine Coupon Book!!!

I printed the FREE tag card template onto heavy-weight cardstock. I cut one of the tags out to use as my template. I traced the tag template in pencil twice onto white cardstock (one for the front cover and one for the back cover) and multiple times onto plain white printer paper (for the coupons). I cut these pieces out, erased my pencil lines, and scored each at 1.25".

I then went to town decorating the front cover, back cover and coupon pages with stamps, vellum, embossing powder, etc.

Here's a look at a couple of sample coupon pages (which I also perforated with a Fiskars Rotary Perforating Tool).

The stamped blank lines give you the flexibility to write in whatever you want to for each of the coupons. This is the perfect way customize the gift for your intended recipient.

You can add as many coupons to the book as you want. And I love that the coupons can be for inexpensive but thoughtful things like spending time together or doing something nice for each other.

On the inside of the back cover I stamped a sweet sentiment and then a horizontal line of hearts to hold my signature.
To finish off the book I stacked all of my pages, punched a hole, and tied them together with ribbon.

I had so much fun creating this project and hope I've inspired you! Thanks for stopping by! Have a fantastic day!
