Same Card Three Ways Day 2

Hello DeNami Friends!

Does it seem like overtime you turn around you need another birthday card?! I decided to make life simple and make the same card in 3 different color combinations to make life a little easier. You can make these using the persons favorite colors to personalize it for them.

For this project you only need 4 stamps! 2 border stamps, a birthday greeting, and a birthday image. I have the ones that I used listed below. You will also need 2 dye inks, Copic friendly black ink and one topic marker to match one of the dye inks. I created my stamp panel using the 2 border stamps and alternating between the borders and colors. I trimmed my panel to leave a border on the card. I stamped the birthday sentiment and the balloon on white cardstock and colored the balloon to match one of the borders. I layered the sentiment on a piece of grey cardstock that matched all the color combinations on my cards. I hope you enjoyed my cards! Until next time!

Fishing Chickie Tag

Hello DeNami friends, Lisa E. here today sharing an easy masculine tag. This would be great for Father's Day (a day or two late, or maybe next year!) even a birthday!

First I added a piece of decorative paper to the tag. Next I cut a strip of Orange Stripes Washi Tape  length wise. I didn't cut it in the center, I wanted one strip to be wider than the other. These were added at the top and bottom of the decorative paper. The To: From: sentiment was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

After die cutting a piece of adhesive cork, it was stamped with the Small Dot Square Frame then affixed to the tag. I stamped colored and punched out the Fishing Chickie then added him to the cork piece with foam tape. Using a regular hand hole punch, I punched three cork dots to add to the tag. And finally a length of twine was looped through the top opening.

We're happy you could stop by today. Please join us tomorrow for an Inspired By post!

Gracias Chickie

Hello, DeNami Design friends! It's Lisa P here with a brand new installment of Chickie Couture! Can you believe this is my 17th Chickie Couture post?!?! Wowzers! THANK YOU to all of you who have been so supportive and left so many sweet comments on this feature over the past seventeen months! I have had SO MUCH FUN creating each and every one of these new chickies along the way!!!

To show my appreciation, please welcome Gracias Chickie:

I stamped the I60 Large Chickie image onto yellow cardstock. Then, I placed a piece of lightweight printer paper over top of him to hand draw his sombrero and maracas. I fussy cut the hand drawn elements from the printer paper and used them as templates to create the same elements from cardstock. I added color with markers and a touch of sparkle with a glitter pen. To finish, I cut everything out and added it to my card base along with some colorful cardstock strips and a simple "gracias" sentiment.

I think he's pretty darn cute! I hope you do too!

Now how about a GIVEAWAY?!?!

Just hop on over to my blog, Bellalistona, and leave a comment for a chance to win some ADORABLE DeNami Design goodies!

Patriotic Chick

Hi DeNami Friends!
It's Tammy, and it's my turn to share a card with you today. It's a little Patriotic number.

I started with a navy blue card base. I took white cardstock and placed it in the Stars Embossing Folder and ran it through my Big Shot. Next I took Fired Brick and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks and blended them onto my embossed star images.   When complete, I added to my card base.  I added a piece of patterned paper cut from a Spellbinders Label 1 cut in half to the left side of the card front.   A length of Red Baker's Twine was wrapped around the card front and added to the left side.

The Celebrate Circle was added inside a die-cut circle which I layered onto a a red scallop circle and white embossed star using the Stars Embossing Folder.  Lastly, I added Patriotic Chickie inside and colored him with copic markers.

A final finishing touch was adding a patriotic star ribbon embellished with a Sapphire Boutique Button.

I hope you are inspired to start working on your patriotic cards!

Butterfly Friends

Hello DeNami friends! It’s Deb here and I have a CAS but bright card to share with you today. I used only 2 stamps but sometimes I think that is all you need.

I inked up Large Butterfly in Tuxedo Black Memento ink off centered twice and then colored them in with copics. I opted not to color in the butterfly border or body because I really like how the colors stood out. Then I selectively inked up Hello Friend and trimmed them out. I ran a few stitches with my sewing machine through each sentiment to attach them to the card front.

I hope you have been able to visit this month’s blog hop participants. It’s the last one until the fall. You still have time to comment and be eligible to win.

Have a great week!

Feeling Crabby?

Hello, DeNami Design friends! Lisa P here with a fun little "pick-me-up" card!

We've all been a bit crabby here and there. It happens. But, who could possibly continue feeling crabby after seeing that ADORABLE, happy little crab?!?! I think he's absolutely DARLING!

I stamped the Three Line Border stamp in Deep Lagoon Versafine onto the base of a blank 4.25" x 5.5" white card. Tip: Since the Three Line Border didn't quite extend the entire way across my card, I began by penciling off an area slightly smaller than my red rectangle. Then, I stamped the lines around this penciled off area. The red rectangle then covers up the part of the card base that's not been stamped.

I die-cut two rectangles, one from white cardstock and one from red. I stamped the crab and sentiment onto the white rectangle and added some color with markers. Then, I adhered the rectangles to the card base. Finally, I die-cut a polka dotted bow to finish off the design.

I hope this card made you smile today and inspired you to get inky!

Baseball Birthday

Hello!

Tammy here sharing a fun little baseball birthday card which is appropriate since we are full swing into baseball season.

I stamped the Retro Border at a diagonal in the center. Then I stamped the Demi Dot Circle Frame inside a white circle.  Next I added the Birthday Wishes circle followed by adding the Baseball Chickie from the All Star Chickies Stamp Set.  I colored the cutie with colored pencils and mineral spirits. I added the circle layers to a star and placed in the center of the card. I added a blue scallop border to the top and added texture by using the Stars Embossing Folder. Lastly, I added a little tab in the lower right corner stamping a baseball from the Sports Balls Stamp Set in the center in white ink.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Rainbow Hello

Hello friends! It’s Deb here today and I have a card to share with you. But first, I want to wish all the mother’s out there a special belated “Happy Mother’s Day!” I hope you all had a wonderful day.

Today’s card shows my typical CAS style. I started off with a large piece of scrap vellum. Then, with my copics, I started coloring ROYGBV. I turned the sheet over to use the back side which has a bit softer look to the blending. I inked up Hello Friend in Versamark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I adhered it to my card front using my ATG. Then I added some more pieces of white cardstock that I had trimmed on an angle. The last step in making this card was attaching my clear Pretty Pink Posh sequins using crystal lacquer.

Cherry Blossom Kimono

Hello! Lisa P here with an all-occasion card using images from DeNami Design's Asian Collection.
.

I stamped the Cherry Blossom repeatedly onto my card base and added some touches of color with markers. Then, I stamped the Large Kimono onto white cardstock, colored it, and cut it out. I added some touches of glitter to the cherry blossoms on the kimono, tied on some baker's twine and adhered it to my layered sentiment panel with foam tabs. As a last minute detail, I decided to add a layer of vellum between my card base and the focal point. I feel like it softens it up a bit and kind of reminds me of those Asian screen room dividers. So pretty!

I hope you like my card for today and feel inspired to get inky!

Springtime Mom

Hi there, DeNami friends, and Happy May 1st! It's Emily here today on the DeNami blog. It's my turn to share a new  project with you. Now that May has arrived, Mother's Day is right around the corner. So I thought I'd share a little Mother's Day inspiration with this colorful card created with only 2 stamps.

I seem to be on a roll these days with pairing up pink and orange! This card features the beautifully scripted Mom stamped in Vintage Sepia Versafine and is accented with one of the sweet little butterflies in the Decorative Butterflies stamp set stamped in Habanero Versafine. That huge orange flower embellishment is one that I made myself from used dryer sheets. So easy! I just colored the sheets with an orange Copic marker. To finish off my card, I added some freeform machine stitching as a frame for this design.

That's all for me today. Thanks for visiting the DeNami Design blog!

Embossing Elements: Graduation

Greetings, DeNami friends! It's Emily here today with the April edition of my monthly Embossed Elements feature here on the DeNami blog. Today I'm gearing up for graduation season with two different cards using fun embossing folders from the DeNami store.

My first project features the oh-so-festive Graduation Hat Embossing Folder.  I used it (along with Congratulations Circle and the diploma and mortarboard stamps from the cling Graduation Set) to make a congratulatory card for the new graduate.

I chose the colors of my daughter's high school (including some fabulous DeNami Leaf Green cardstock for the embossed panel and the paper-pieced mortarboard) for this creation and went with a design that really shows off that awesome embossed sea of graduation caps. Doesn't it look like a crowd of grads has just tossed their mortarboards into the air at the end of the commencement ceremony? That image always makes me smile :). Not only is this embossing folder super for graduation cards, but it would also be perfect for making graduation invitations or graduation thank you notes.

I don't find myself needing graduation cards all that often (although as my kids progress further through school, I imagine that will begin to change!), so I was reluctant at first to invest in purely graduation-themed products. Just in case you find yourself in a similar situation, I wanted to show you another option for a fun graduation card using non-graduation-specific products. This project features the Bunting Embossing Folder.

After embossing my white card base with the Bunting EF, I embossed several scraps of patterned paper (once again choosing a color scheme inspired by my daughter's high school) and then paper-pieced each of the pennants. I love how it turned out! I completed my clean and simple design with a loopy bow tied in baker's twine from the Spring Twine 3-pack and a stamped Small Congratulations sentiment.

I love the festive look that the embossed pennant banner gives this congratulations card. It's so easy to personalize the bunting with the recipient's school colors. But I can also think of all kinds of other occasions--not just graduations!--that this embossing folder would be perfect for: birthday, baby, weddings, anniversaries, Independence Day, New Year's, . . . the list could go on and on!!

Thanks for taking a peek at my embossed graduation projects today. I hope I was able to inspire you.
Please hop on over to my blog, My Little Slice of Bliss, and leave a comment there for a chance to win your very own Graduation Hat Embossing Folder. I have one up for grabs! Commenting will be open until midnight on April 30, 2014.

Cowboy Sequin Shaker

Howdy DeNami fans! Lisa E. here today and I'm shakin' things up in the west! As you all know our sweet Paulina has the prettiest sequins in her Pretty Pink Posh store. Not only that, she has a HUGE blog hop coming up and our very own Denami Design happens to be one of the sponsors! That's a win win in my book!

For my post today, I've paired some of those pretty sequins and fun DeNami stamps into a wild west card perfect for the guys in your life!

To build the shaker portion of my card, I stamped the Cactus Trio on a white panel (3"x 3") then added the cute sentiment from the Cowboy stamp set. Next I rubbed on a bit of light blue and brown chalk to add a soft sky and sand. Foam tape was placed around the edges, sequins added then topped with the acetate panel. I added a yellow frame stamped with the Teeny Star Background that is topped with a Spellbinders Postage die cut. After wrapping it with a bit of rustic twine, I added the shaker to a card base stamped with the lucky horseshoe from the Southwest stamp set.

The Cowboy Chickie was stamped, colored then trimmed out before adding him to a canvas die cut star. Speaking of stars. Paulina does carry star sequins in her shop, but these on my card were given to me a couple of years ago by my SIL!

If you want to learn how to make a sequin shaker card, Paulina put together a video!

I hope you enjoyed my card today. We always appreciate your visits and hope you can join us for the PPP blog hop on the 26th! Click the graphic below for all the info on sponsors and how you can participate!

Caveman Chickies!

Hello! Lisa P here with a brand new installment of Chickie Couture! Oh my goodness...I had LOTS of FUN with this one! I hope you like it!!!

Introducing Caveman (and Cave-woman) Chickie:

I can't help but giggle every time I look at them!

I stamped the Large Chickie image twice onto a cream cardstock panel and twice onto yellow cardstock scraps. I added some color to the yellow chickies with markers and then fussy cut them out. I drew their outfits by hand, "dressed" the chickies and then adhered them to the cream panel. I stamped the Doggie Bone, fussy cut it and tied some orange embroidery floss around it before adhering it to my Cave-woman Chickie. The club was drawn by hand and embossed with a woodgrain pattern.

Here's a closer look:

Don't they make a darling little couple?!?!

Thanks for stopping by today! To show my appreciation, I'm having a GIVEAWAY on my blog! So hop on over there, Bellalistona, and leave a comment for a chance to win some DeNami Design goodies!!!
