Winter Blooms 12-29-19
Autumn, Winter, and Spring sort of flow into each other here in Southern California. And plants from all over the planet keep their 'schedule" from their native land. So, some plants bloom in mid-winter. Here are a couple in my neighborhood.
Just one of many varieties of narcissus.
Lovely fragrance.
And now it is covered with seed pods.
But we still have autumn leaves. Liquidamber or sweet gum.
Bradford Pear.

Autumn pictures 10-24-19
Guess my neighbors are not so into Halloween this year.
At least this guy is whole - as a skeleton can be.
Sweet gum (Liquidamber) leaves on blue fabric.
On this day in 2012 I was at Bishop Creek on the east slope of the Sierra where my husband and I loved to go camping, fishing, and hiking.
The aspen tress are amazing.
And there are towering Jeffrey pines to provide contrast.
Bishop Creek was not very full, less so than in years when we have lots of rain.
It is a beautiful, peaceful area and I think I will schedule a trip up for next autumn.

Friday Flowers - leaves today 11-21-14
One thing about Southern California landscaping is there is always some color somewhere. Here are three plants with colored leaves - not always but on some occasions.
White bougainvillea leaves against green pittosporum.
Yellow viburnum leaves.
Orange boxwood leaves.
