Happy Birthday Mom!

Today is my mom's birthday! Here's the card I made for this pink loving lady! It fit well with this week's CR84FN Challenge.

DEEtails:

I used the PTI Background Basics: Newsprint stamp set to create the newspaper background. Then I stamped some fun circle images from SU!'s Circle Circus down one side in Pink Passion. I stamped the sentiment from PTI's Think Big Favorites in Pink Passion and cut it out. I mounted it with some Stampin' Dimensionals on a PTI Half and Half die cut, which I trimmed down just a bit so my sentiment would spill over the edges a bit more.

I'm sending some virtual flowers to my mom today. :) I came across this picture and thought of her... These are some of here favorite blooms. Happy Birthday Mom!

April Blog Hop

Welcome to the April PALS HOP! This month, we're featuring Wonderful Wedding and Mother's Day projects for your inspiration! You've likely hopped over from Melanie Collins at Oops a Daisy Designs. I'm stop number 11 on the PALS HOP and I'm glad you hopped in! I'll help you "hop along" from blog to blog where you'll find great ideas for paper crafted creations from the Stampin' Pretty Pals! Should you hop off course, simply click on any of the links in the PALS HOP LINE-UP below and you'll be back on track!

Today I'm showcasing cards for Mother's Day for my Mom, my Step-Mom, and Mother-in-Law, three ladies who are as different as can be in style and personality. I challenged myself to use one stamp set to create three different looks that capture their style and here's what I came up with.

DEEsign 1: For My Mom

When she's not working on her sewing projects, or following my brothers on the golf course, my mom enjoys gardening. Her favorite colors are pink and red, so I incorporated them in my card. I stamped the SU! Circle Circus images on Pear Pizzazz card stock with VersaMark and heat embossed them. I punched them out with my circle punched, then lined them up on a strip of Soft Suede card stock. Then I created a pot with some Riding Hood Red card stock. I adhered everything onto some Whisper White card stock, matted with some Riding Hood Red, then tucked a piece of Pear Pizzazz stamped with the sentiment from SU!'s Messages for Mom and punched with the Corner Rounder punch. I tied on some Riding Hood Red Striped Grosgrain Ribbon on my Blushing Bride card stock, and adhered my image onto the card.

DEEsign 2: For My Step-Mom

My Step-Mom loves things bold and bright with a good dose of neutrals thrown in. I stamped various images from SU!'s Circle Circus around the SU! Messages for Mom sentiment on some Whisper White card stock. The ink colors used are Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait, More Mustard, and Soft Suede. I matted the stamped piece with some Poppy Parade and tied a bow with some Stitched Poly Twill Ribbon. Then added a second mat or Soft Suede before adhering it all to my Poppy Parade card.

DEEsign 3: For My Mother-in-Law

My Mother-in-Law thrives on a clean and crisp look, with a touch of country charm. I stamped a single image from SU!'s Circle Circus in three different colors - Daffodil Delight, Certainly Celery, and Marina Mist - onto some Whisper White card stock, then punched them out with a 1 1/4" Circle punch. I lined them up on a piece of Whisper White card stock, matted with Daffodil Delight, and adhered it to a Certainly Celery card. Then I stamped the SU! Messages for Mom sentiment on some Whisper White card stock, punched it with the Corner Rounder and matted it with some Daffodil Delight.

Hello, You

Today's card is for another challenge over at Jay Gee's Nook. Loving the inspiration photo - especially the one at the top right.

DEEtails:

I loved the idea of layering pages from a book, so I cut a few pages of a book into 2" x 3" pieces and layered them onto a piece of Crumb Cake card stock. I let a bit of the edge stick out, as a mat. Then I stamped some images from SU!'s Circle Circus on some PS Pool in VersaMark and heat embossed them, which I layered onto my book pages. Then I stamped the sentiment from SU!'s Hello, You onto some Crumb Cake card stock, adhered with some Stampin' Dimensionals, then added a piece of some Baker's twine. Hope you like it!

Card Patterns

This is my first time participating in the weekly Card Patterns challenge. I turned this week's sketch on it's side...

DEEtails:

1. As soon as I saw this sketch, I knew I wanted to use the cute cinched ribbon from the Fairy Tale Ribbon Originals. It's such a cute ribbon!

2. I really wanted to showcase the ribbon, so I chose to keep my card clean and simple. I selected some patterned papers from the Georgia Peach DSP. I stuck with a Regal Rose and So Saffron color combo.

3. I layered my papers and So Saffron card stocks and added my strip of Regal Rose Ribbon.

4. Then I stamped a sentiment from the PTI Signature Greetings set. I'm really enjoying the sentiments in this set!

5. For my final touch, I stamped the flowery circle from my Circle Circus set with VersaMark on Regal Rose card stock. I embossed the image and punched it out. I adhered it to a So Saffron Scallop Circle and added it to my card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I'm not sure if I'm loving this card. I really like the colors and the ribbon, but it kind of feels like it needs a little something else... What do you think?

Wishes

I decided to create a card for the Moxie Fab World Olympics of Stamping. Here's my DEEsign:

And the DEEtails:

1. I started off with a piece of Kraft cardstock and used a stamp from my Circle Circus set to create a grid pattern with Going Gray ink.

2. I took a piece of Going Gray cardstock and added a scalloped edge, then adhered my stamped Kraft mat to the side.

3. Then I tied a bow with some Riding Hood Red ribbon from the Dress Up Ribbon Originals set. I love the contrast and pop of color.

4. I stamped the Wishes sentiment from my Heard from the Heart set in Going Gray and Real Red, using my Stampin' Write markers on Naturals White card stock. I used some 3-dimensional adhesive to adhere it to the card.

5. I love this simple look and hope you like it too!
