Let's Get Shabby.......Challenge 11.

The challenge this month at LGS is all about colour. We need to take inspiration from the photo of the gorgeous quilt. I decided to create my LO with a border as that was one of the first things that caught my eye on the quilt and also wanted to use fabric and stitching (as would be found in a quilt). So the border consists of gingham on one corner and stitching on the other. Of course the colours in the quilt were the main source of inspiration.

I thought this photo of Missy playing with the fallen leaves would be perfect. She loves to bundle them up and throw them in the air and she says "Happy Valentine's Day"....no idea how that is relevant but it's pretty cute. tfl

Only 8 days to go..............

to get your LO's in for this month's challenge at Kraft It Up. All you need to do is create a monochromatic colour scheme (any colour except brown) on a Kraft base. Head on over to check out the gorgeous creations that have already been submitted. They are all so inspiring. Looking forward to seeing what you all come up with.

Cybercropping at ScrapTherapy.......

over the weekend I ended up getting 2 of the 4 challenges done at the Scrap Therapy cybercrop.
Firstly this was the sketch challenge set by Allie. I loved doing this one. I'm using it as the title page in little Missy's album for 2010. I inked up the frame left from some OA journalling cards.
and this was the theme challenge set by Big Sis Sarah - I used the leaves and butterflies combination. I bought this cute giraffe garden ornament and decided to call her Jillie but my little GD decided that that wasn't a very good name for her so when I asked her what she would like her to be called, she said Jeanette. Not sure where that came from but Jeanette it is. tfl

Let's Get Shabby - challenge 10........

This month at LGS the challenge is to do a shabby Easter project. I did this LO of our little Missy on her egg hunt on Easter Sunday morning. The Easter Bunny left a trail of eggs around the garden and she was soooo excited to find each and every one.
I cut the middle out of the pp and put the grass pp in behind it then outlined the pattern around the edge roughly in black paint and also around the inside shaped edge. The little bear/ bunny is from an Easter gift bag and I replaced his egg with a decorated gingham one and added some more grass. A few extra flowers, some glitter on the blue butterflies and some DM on the bigger ones, a few buttons and lace. tfl

This is my Year in Review LO.............

for March. I'm so glad I started doing this challenge at What is Old is New. We've had some new additions to our family in March lol - I couldn't resist buying these cute wooden cats. At first I only bought the 2 taller ones but not being a lover of even numbers and a little prompting from my grand-daughter that the Daddy and Mummy needed a baby, I went back and bought the baby one. She asked DH what we should call the baby and he said "how about Woody" (original) and so the Woody family was born.

I hope you can join in the challenge this month. Looking forward to seeing some more gorgeous entries as we have been seeing over the last couple of months. All very inspiring. tfl
