Freebie Alert: Another Celebration

Today marks another very special day in the Décosse household.  Exactly 26 years ago, the hubs and I were married.  As you've learned by now, our celebrations means presents for all of you.

Now my inspiration for this paper is a bit odd and deserves an explanation.  I know that I have told you how incredible the man I love is.  Well, here is another reason why.

When we were all out at dinner last Wednesday celebrating the hubs' birthday, the discussion of cheesecake came up during dessert.  New York Cheesecake is my absolute favourite dessert.  Unfortunately, we haven't been able to purchase cheesecake in over five years (at least) because everything these days has allergy warnings on it to protect the companies, even if there are no actual allergens in the product.  So I sadly lamented that evening that I would probably never get to eat cheesecake again unless of course I learned how to cook one myself.  Well, somebody was apparently listening very close to that.

On Monday evening while I was preparing dinner, I opened the fridge and started babbling like a lunatic: "huba, huba, bubababa, huba..." and it went on for about two minutes straight!  There sitting on the shelf was a home-made cherry cheesecake.  He must have snuck it upstairs and put it in the fridge when my back was turned.  Anyway, I went to the living room and smothered the man in kisses.  Apparently, he mentioned the fact that he really wanted to get a cheesecake made for me at work on Friday and one of his co-workers offered herself for hire.  He brought it home on Saturday after work and snuck it into the fridge in the basement.  Of course, he then forgot it until Monday but at least remembered to bring it up before it had gone bad.

Now unfortunately, I can't actually share the cheesecake with you but I can share a picture of it...

Yum!  My mouth is watering just thinking about it!

So, in honour of the amazing man who arranged for me to receive this amazing gift, I have created a cherries themed digital paper which I am sharing with you all in honour of our wedding anniversary.  The cherries in the paper are a little bit heart shaped so it is actually fitting!

This digital paper is 3600 x 3600 pixels, in jpg format and published at 300 dpi. I've used resources from The Coffee Shop, Jennifer Scraps, Pixabay, and HG Graphic DesignsFull credits in the file.  To grab it, click the download button to be taken to a download location.  In the zip folder you will find a copy of the paper, its preview sheet, the full credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders.

Unfortunately we won't be able to go out to supper tonight as planned as the hubs had to work later than expected but we're hoping to go out and celebrate on Saturday instead.  I don't know what we'll be having for dinner but I do know what I'll be having for dessert when we come home!

Until next time,

Wonderful Wednesdays--Offerings for April

If you are new to my blog and want to know how this concept got started, you can find the original post by clicking HERE

Hello peeps.  Once again this month I'm skating thin on getting my Wonderful Wednesdays offering out in time.  It is incredible that we have already reached the final Wednesday in April.

If you are new to my blog in the past year, you can find other items for the April kit by clicking on the respective links below:

  • The word April done up in a bunch of different styles:  Click HERE.
  • Blue Polka dot paper and red polka dot paper:  Click HERE.
  • "Good Times" wordart creations available in a number of colours; plus some balloons--digi images and coloured; + bonus circular stamp:  Click HERE.
The April kit never had a name so since it is focused on the theme of celebration, I'm just going to call it Happy Celebrations!

I decided to add a wordart paper this month that says 'celebrate'. Some of you may have a similar one as I made one for Monica Taylor to hand out to everyone during one of her blog celebrations.  However this one has different colouring and the wording is larger.

This paper, part of the Happy Celebrations kit (the multi-year kit for the month of April), is 3600 x 3600 in jpg format and published at 300 dpi. I have used resources from: Marisa Lerin, Pixel Scrapper, and Heather Green, HG Graphic Designs.  Full credit info is in the file.  To grab this paper, click the download button to be taken to a download location.  In the zip folder you will find a copy of the paper, its preview sheet, the credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders.

Here is your bonus stamp for April.  You can just left click on this one to bring it up in the lightbox and then right click to save it in its original size which is 3600 x 192 pixels (12 inches x .64 inches).

Stay tuned for a new Wonderful Wednesday post coming next month!

Additionally, I have another freebie coming out later this evening in honour of our wedding anniversary; so, stay tuned!

Bookmark Design: From the Heart Stamps April Challenge

http://fromtheheartstamps.com/community/blog/
It is time to post my project for the April, From the Heart Stamps (FTHS) progressive stamp of the month challenge. Woop, woop!  I even got it done with five days to spare!

In order to enter the progressive challenge, you must either have received the latest image by having participated in the previous month or you can buy the stamp for the current month's challenge.  Everyone who enters and follows the rules is a winner because you automatically get the stamp for the next month's challenge.  Stop by the site and check out the rules for yourself.  While you are there, have a look around.  They have some really awesome images.

This time around I decided to make a birthday tag.  Here is my project and the details.  I hope I haven't forgotten anything important...

General Information:
  • For this project I actually got to use one of my own tags (made with elements from Marisa Lerin, Pixel Scrapper & Art of Nadia).  Details below.

TAG FRONT

 Digital Image Details:
  • The image on the front, Hamlet PigWit Being Shy, is available for purchase over at From the Heart Stamps. Click HERE or on the watermark below to go to its location in the store.
  • I brought the image into Photoshop Elements and then layered it right on top of the tag.  I also added a shadow (courtesy of Megan Tundridge).  Next, I printed it, fussy cut it out and then coloured it in with Copic Markers.
  • If you missed out, you can still play along with the challenge by purchasing the image. Then you can enter the challenge and receive next month’s digi free. Alternatively, if you spend $10 in the From The Heart Stamps store this month, you'll receive the image for free.  To find the special code you need, be sure to check out the original post by clicking HERE.

Digital Sentiment Details:
  • I wanted to come up with something 'pig' related and looked online to see what there was.  Sadly, nothing really fit. Then I went traipsing through my old FTHS files and found one that said "Hope your Hallowe'en is filled with squeals of delights".  It was perfect except for having the wrong occasion so I just whipped this one up myself.  Thanks for the inspiration Faith!
  • I layered the sentiment right onto the tag, along with the image before printing it out.
Embellishments:
  • The flowers, lace and half pearls are all Crafts brand and were purchased at Dollarama.
Paper Products:
  • Bookmark base: Michael's Recollection's Cardstock, white.
Digital Products:
  • As mentioned earlier, the tag is one of my own.  It is available in the Patterned Tags set of the Tag Grab Bag 1:  Cotton Candy Collection.  If you'd like to purchase this set, please let me know so I can upload it to the store.
Challenges I am hoping to enter:
Others I might get it into...
My final progressive challenge is done for the month.  However I still have lots more to accomplish over the next five days.  Wish me luck!  I'm off and running to the next task on the list right now!

Until next time,

Before I get on with today's post I just wanted to say a big thanks for all the birthday wishes for my husband yesterday.  I know that he will greatly appreciate them!

So many adorable images to choose from, and as usual, this month's image for the progressive challenge is no exception.  Check it out...

This way you'll receive next month's digital stamp for free.

Here are my card and details...

General Info:

  • When leaving comments as part of my Scribbles Designs duties I found a card layout that really inspired me.  The original card was designed by maikreations and you can find the card that inspired me HERE.

FRONT
Digital Image Details:
  • Coffee Girl:  You can find this image in the store.  Details above.  This image was coloured in and grounded with Copic Markers.  I used coloured pencils to add the actual ground.  Sadly the underlying black ink smudged a bit when colouring her face and boy do I really need to learn how to colour hair properly.
  • I created a tag shape in Libre Office Draw and then added some digital stitching around the edges.  I layered the image onto the tag before printing it.
Embellishments:
  • Both the ribbon and the fabric hearts are Crafts brand and were purchased at Dollarama.

INSIDE
Digital Sentiment Details:
  • This great sentiment was created by Paulette from Create with TLC.  I picked it up as a freebie a while back.  For more great freebies, click HERE to go to Paulette's blog and to purchase some wonderful sets, click HERE to go to the store.

Freebie Alert: Happy Birthday to My Hubs!

Today is another very special day in the Décosse household this week, and as such, it deserves a very special shout out.  Today my hubs celebrates his

 65th birthday!!!

As I've mentioned before, without this man, working hard in order to put food on the table, pay the mortgage, and keep me in crafting supplies, there would be no way I could do what I do everyday.  Additionally, it is his love and support that allows me to create and also spend so much time with all of you.   I am so very lucky and I know it.  He is such an incredible man and my world would not be the same without him in it.

So, I want to wish my amazing hubby a very happy birthday and in honour of this special day, I've got a present for all of you.  Everyone should get to celebrate today!!!

Now this paper isn't a traditional birthday paper but I made it especially for the hubs' card (which I'll be showing you all in June).  He absolutely LOVES frogs, and so this is in honour of his four legged green friends.

This digital paper is 3600 x 3600 pixels, in jpg format and published at 300 dpi. I've used resources from Heather Green of HG Graphic Designs, and Jerry Jones of Shadowhouse Creations.  To grab it, click the download button to be taken to a download location.  In the zip folder you will find a copy of the paper, its preview sheet, the full credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders.

My parents are coming up this evening and we'll be going out for supper to celebrate.  I hope that the hubs has a good day and that all of you will as well!!!

Until next time,
