Card Design: Pattie's Creations Challenge #186…Anything Goes

Hello there folks! I hope that each of you is continuing to stay healthy in your own little corner of this world!

I'm popping in today to announce the next challenge over at Pattie's Creations Design Challenge. This time around for Challenge #186, the theme is Anything Goes. I took the opportunity to make another birthday card. There never seem to be enough birthday cards in my stash.

 

General Project Info:

• This card has been created 100% digitally and then layered in a Mock Up (courtesy of Frisk Shop). It will be printed out and assembled prior to dissemination.

FRONT

Digital Images Details:

• Tea Cups can be found in Pattie's Etsy shop. This image was coloured in digitally using digital colouring and paper piecing. Credits include:
• the lace paper used to digitally paper piece the middle teacup is from the Tea n' Lace Digi Papers set from Imagine That Digistamp.
• I have used a textured paper to digitally paper piece the top and bottom cups and top and bottom saucers. This paper is from the Baking with Mom Ethereal Textures set from the CoffeeShop Blog. 
• Then I used the same textured paper used in behind the lace paper on the teapot, for the middle tea cup and also for the middle saucer.

 

Digital Embellishments:

• The flowers used as accents are from the Hello Aunty kit created by Correen Silke available at {Computer}Scrapbook.com. 
• The tag shape used on the front as an accent is from Marisa Lerin, Pixel Scrapper. It has been digitally paper pieced with a paper from the Tea n' Lace Digi Papers set from Imagine That Digistamp.

 Digital Images Details:

• I repeated the Tea Cups on the inside just reducing the opacity of it so that the sentiment stayed readable over top the image.

• The sentiments used on the front and the inside were created by Paulette from Create with TLC. I have recoloured the sentiment on the front to better suit the colours in my project. PS: Sadly, I have made no additional headway in sending out the papers from the 12 Days of Christmas. While the set has been sent to the 11 individuals who completed the full quest, I still have to send the papers out to those who only participated in certain days. We've now been in lockdown in my region since March 19th and it doesn't seem like there is an end in sight. While many countries seem to be improving, Canada seems to be headed in the wrong direction. We were doing very well during the first year compared to many countries but since January, in certain provinces, things have gotten so much worse. I really hope there is a change soon.

Card Design: Pattie's Creations Challenge #174…Anything Goes

 

Hello there folks! It is hard to believe that at the end of the summer we are still having so many difficulties with the pandemic. Too many people's lives have been disrupted by this awful virus and far too many people have lost there lives! I hope that each of you is continuing to stay healthy in your own little corner of this world.

I'm popping in today to announce the next challenge over at Pattie's Creations Design Challenge. This time around for Challenge #174, the theme is Anything Goes. Once again you can upload your projects with any kind of theme. 

In the last month I've heard of three deaths. One of my friends lost her brother due to covid-19, another friend lost her mother due to a heart attack and the third was the accidental death of a young boy only 13 years old who happened to be my best friend's nephew. More lives gone too soon. As such, I'm in need of a few sympathy cards.

• Three Daisies: This trio of daisies was the perfect lead in for my sentiment. This image can be found in Pattie's Etsy shop by clicking on the name.
• These daisies were digitally coloured in Photoshop just to give them an open silhouette look.

• The sentiment used on the front was one I created way back in 2013. I offered it up for FREE as part of my 100 Followers Celebration. You can find it HERE along with some other word art freebies.

Card Design: Pattie's Creations Challenge #172…Anything Goes

Hello there folks! I hope that each of you is continuing to stay healthy in your own little corner of this world. While some locations are doing okay with the re-opening there are other areas that opened way too quickly and are now suffering a a result with significantly increased cases. There is also speculation that a second wave is hitting but the first hasn't even finished yet in some places. Good luck to us all as we continue to battle this awful virus that has affected over 10 million people and taken over 500,000 from the world way too soon!

Once again you can upload your projects with any kind of theme. If the image looks familiar, I used it a couple of months ago on a birthday card. I needed to create 10+ thank you cards for hubby who received some money from his siblings for his 70th birthday. I asked hubby to look through some images I had so that he could decide what to use on the cards since they were coming from him after all, and he chose the adorable mice image you'll see below. Now I just have to get them printed and assembled!

Card Design: Pattie's Creations Challenge #170…Anything Goes

Hello there folks! I hope that each of you is doing well in your own little corner of this world. It appears that the curve is starting to flatten in various locations and hopefully soon we'll start down a path to healing and coping until a vaccine can be developed. In my own province we're looking at slowly opening up the economy in phases but always guided by the health experts as to how quickly we can do that.

I'm sorry I'm a bit late posting my creation. The later half of April is always crazy busy with my birthday, my hubby's birthday and our wedding anniversary occurring within a 10 day period (even when we can't go anywhere!). I wasn't sure I was going to have any time at all to get a card created for this challenge but I managed to squeeze some time in during the first half of the month and put together an Easter card for my hubby!

Card Design: QKR Challenge #26--Anything Goes

Hello everyone!  It is Friday and that means it is time for another challenge over at QKR Stampede where I am the Guest Designer this month.  The theme this week is everyone's favourite "Anything Goes".  This is a great opportunity to enter those hard to place cards.  You know, the ones that don't seem to fit the usual challenge themes available.  Of course, all your easily identifiable cards fit too, so it is a great opportunity to show us all your different sides.  Well at least three different sides anyways, since that is the maximum number of cards you can enter for each challenge.

A random winner will win 2 free digi's from the store however if you use a QKR image, you will win 5 free digis.  That is a great incentive to use one of QKR's adorable images and there are so many awesome ones to choose from.  This week I got to play with the following images for my GDT entry:

General Notes:

• Well, I think I've found a light to use.  About a year ago, we managed to pick up a $150 Ott craft light for $40.  Since I don't really have a place to set it up, I just sort of drag it to where I need it, I decided to drag it to the dining room table where I take my pictures.  There wasn't much daylight left when I took these pictures and I think the lighting turned out fine.  Thanks to everyone for their ideas on light sources and taking pics.  They have been very helpful.  Now we just need a better camera, one that does great close ups without getting blurry.  That problem is going to take a lot longer than a couple weeks to fix.  For now though I'm content with doing the best I can, given what I have to work with.
• I love angels of every variety.  I have a piano top filled with them.  While I don't need any more of the physical kind, I can always make use of  digital ones.  That is why it was so much fun working with these great images this week.  
• It was also high time I create something using purples.  I love the colour purple but haven't really had the opportunity to use any of my purple papers yet.  
• So combine my love of angels, purple and card design...well, talk about a triple play!  
• One of the challenges I'm entering requires that there be hearts and dots.  I think that I'm safe with the number of dots and hearts on this particular card, inside and out.

Digital Images:

• Watering Hearts Angel (front):  The image on the front of the card is such a sweet image.  If you are interested in purchasing this image it is available HERE.  It was coloured using Copic markers.  Angel Wings:  BG70, BG72, BG75.  Clothes:  BV00, BV02, BV04, BV08 (dress, hat, shoes).  Skin:  E000, E00, E02, E11, R20.  Watering Can:  Y11, Y13, Y15, Y17. Hearts:  R20, R22.  Grounding around the angel: while it is difficult to see, I did use BG70 around the image to help ground it a bit.
• Heart Box Angel (inside):  The additional angel image that was used on the inside is available HERE for purchase.  It was just printed out using printer ink matching the purple to the DP.  I chose to not colour it in because I just wanted it to be subtle for the inside.  I did however decide to add sparkles.  I added iridescent white to the halo and then purple ones to the heart.  Unfortunately, they seem to be all coming off.  I tried fixing them with hairspray, a trick I used to use when working with charcoals and other mediums, but it didn't seem to really help.  Any cheap fixative tips anyone to help the sparkles stick around until the personal gets the card at least?

• Precious Things Sentiment:  This beautiful verse on the inside is available for purchase HERE.  I love this sentiment and it fit so perfectly for the person I'm designing the card for.  Unfortunately I can't say who it is for in case they actually see this post.  It was printed onto white cardstock using a blue-green ink colour that matched with a similar colour in the DP.  The edges of the inside paper were inked up using a blending tool and a Studio-G dark purple ink.

Paper Products:

• Card base: purple pastel cardstock--from Dollarama.
• Designer Papers:  Purple gingham & mixed coloured dotted circles (front & inside)-- Recollection's Bold Basics Paper Pad.  Dark Purple shadow--Michael's open stock scrapbook paper.  

Ribbon:

• Offray--the purple ribbon that I've wound into sort of a floral shape is from my mom so I have no idea where it came from originally.

Embellishments:

• Hearts--from Dollarama.
