Card Design: Scribbles Designs Challenge #44 Midway Point...Mason Jars

Hello and happy September 1st! It is time for the midway for the latest Scribbles Designs Challenge to get started. While I normally don't have the time to create regularly for the challenge any more, I did have a fun idea I wanted to share this month.

There are two whole weeks left for you to come on over and enter. In case you've missed it, the theme this time around for Challenge #44, is Mason Jars! Whether you are wishing someone a happy birthday, saying thanking you or simply saying hello, mason jar cards or creations featuring mason jar images, seem to be very popular. Even brides and grooms are getting in on the act creating mason jar 'save the date' notices and even using them for wedding invitations. This challenge we want to see a creation featuring a mason jar of some sort. Whether you leave the jar image empty or fill it up with goodies, it is completely up to you. Mason jars are great for any reason or for any season so there are a variety of ways you can go! We look forward to seeing your interpretation of the theme!

Entering is super simple! You do not need to use a Scribbles Designs image; however, if you do, your name gets entered into the draw twice. You can purchase your Scribbles Designs images HERE or you can also find one for a limited time on the challenge blog HERE. Also, be sure to check out our special Freebie Friday posts as it is another great way to build your Scribbles Designs collection. You can find the rest of the rules and information regarding winners in the sidebar on the challenge blog. You have until 9pm PST on September 14th to come over and play with us.

Here is my card and all the details...

  • This card has been created 100% digitally and then layered in a Mock Up (courtesy of Frisk Shop).  I will print it out and assemble it a later date.

Card Design: Scribbles Designs Challenge #38 Midway Point...Freebie Friday Challenge

Hello and happy March first! As usual it is a busy day for me and right now it is time for the midway for the latest Scribbles Designs Challenge to get started.

There are two whole weeks left for you to come on over and enter.   In case you've missed it, the theme this time around for Challenge #38, is
Freebie Friday Challenge! This month will mark the 2nd year anniversary of the popular Freebie Friday on the Scribbles Design Challenge Blog. Over the last two years Sam and Sandy and recently now Lisa, have hosted this special weekly post giving out approximately 105 freebies as of the start of this challenge!!! Of course that isn't including the freebies that Sandy generously gives out each month when a new challenge starts. So, for this challenge we want you to create a project that includes a past Scribbles Designs Freebie Friday image. To find them all, simply check out the archives and look for the title 'Freebie Friday' each month. Most tell you what the nature of the freebie is right in the title of the post. For example, the post from last Friday is called "Freebie Friday: Kiss Me Sentiment ***Limited Time Freebie***". You can also find past Freebie Friday images by clicking on Freebie Friday in the label section. If you are new to the challenge blog this is a great opportunity to go through some past posts and start your Scribbles Designs stash. We can't wait to see what you create but don't forget to tell us which past Freebie Friday image you have used somewhere in your post.

Entering is super simple!  Generally, in order to participate in our challenges you do not need to use a Scribbles Designs image on your project.  HOWEVER for this challenge, due to the nature of the challenge you must use an SD image, specifically a past Freebie Friday image, as that is our theme this month.  You can find the rest of the rules and information regarding winners in the sidebar on the challenge blog.  You have until 9pm PST on March 14th to come over and play with us.

Here is my card and all the details...

Card Design: Imagine That...Progressive Challenge for November

http://imaginethatdigistamp.blogspot.ca/
Hello and a happy Friday to you all.  It is time to post my creation for the Imagine That Progressive Challenge. This wonderful progressive challenge does not disappoint as we get the opportunity to earn a fabulous new set each month by linking up. Kris' is an amazing designer and I am thrilled to earn sets from her.

This month the images that everyone who is part of the progressive challenge gets to play with are in the wonderful set,
Jars of Cheer...
While Kris' sets are always versatile, this one is even more so.  There are four fabulous different images that you can choose from to represent a whole slew of occasions.  There is also an awesome set of papers in the store that coordinate with this set called Sweet Tooth.  Unfortunately, I wasn't able to copy the watermark but you can find the papers by clicking HERE to head to their location in the store.
As always, you can work with either one of the coloured images, or one of the line art ones. This particular set also comes with seven great sentiments to help you out!  If you missed out, you can still play along by purchasing this set from the store (click on the image name or watermark above to go to the image's location in the store).
Here are my card and details, I hope I haven't forgotten anything important...

General Details:

  • I'm such a bad daughter.  It dawned on me on Nov. 3rd that I still hadn't created a card for my parents' 52nd Anniversary and I had less than a week to do so as their anniversary was on the 10th.  Oopsies.  October was such a crazy month, I just don't know what happened.  I blame it on the head injury I incurred at the beginning of the month in that fall I took and I'm sticking to that excuse. ;)  At the rate I'm going, they might get it by Christmas!

FRONT
Digital Image Details:
  • Jars of Cheer: Details for how to get a hold of it are included underneath the set preview in the above section. I coloured it mostly digitally and added text to the 'notes'.  I also added a glass layer style courtesy of Webtreats, Inc., although it is a bit difficult to see.  The string was coloured with coloured pencils.  I printed an extra "Jar full of love" tag and popped it up a dimensional dot.
Digital Sentiment Details:
  • This great circle sentiment is from Netty's Cards.  You can find it and more fabulous freebies by clicking HERE and clicking on the freebies tab at the top of the page.  If you grab any of them, be sure to leave Netty some love.
Embellishments:
  • The flowers are Crafts brand, purchased at Dollarama.
  • The buttons were purchased at the Dollar Tree.

INSIDE
Digital Sentiment:
  • This fabulous sentiment was created by Paulette from Create with TLC.  I picked it up as a freebie.  Check out Paulette's wonderful blog by clicking HERE or click HERE to go to the store.
OVERALL
Paper Products:

  • Card, image and sentiment base: Michael's Recollection's Cardstock, white.
  • The dotted patterned paper is from the Recollection's The Sweetest Thing Paper Pad.  The other came from my stash although I don't remember the original pad name but it would also be Recollection.
  • The paper I used as matting is from Michael's open stock scrapbook paper.

Card Design: Ike's World Challenge #18...Song/Film Title

A lovely early Tuesday morning to you all.  Hopefully, I am snuggled in bed resting, trying to work this virus through my system and Blogger is behaving and posting this as scheduled.

It is time to share the new Ike's World Challenge.  This fortnight the theme is Song/Film TitleThis card is based on the song Always by Atlantic Star.  It came out in 1987, the year that the hubs and I met and it became "our song".  This challenge presented me with the perfect opportunity to create our 25th wedding anniversary card which was exactly four weeks ago today on April 29th.  I am very proud of this card.  Check it out...

BREAKDOWN OF MOST IMPORTANT PANELS
Digital Image Details:
  • With This Ring: You can find it in the 'My Latest Designs' section of the Ike's Art store or by clicking on the name or watermark below.  I really struggled in March because I just didn't know what I was going to do for this very important card.  Then Ike came out with this image as part of a new release and my heart heaved a giant sigh of joy.  Thank you so much Ike!  This was the perfect image for this special card.

    • I have coloured this image with Copic markers.  Skin:  E000, E00, E02, R20.  Dress and dress shirt: colourless blender, N0, C1.  Ring: Y28.  Tie: C1, C3, C5. Jacket:  C5, C7, Black.  I had really wanted to colour it with the colours of our own outfits that day, (ivory for my dress and navy blue for the hub's suit).  However, I just didn't have the correct colours that would have done it justice.
Embellishments:
  • The flowers are from a stash I got from my momma.  The colours, peach and ivory, represent the colours of our wedding.
  • Ribbon is Crafts brand purchased at Michael's.

Digital Sentiment Details:
  • I created both the verses and sentiments in Libre Office Draw.
Die Cut:
  • Spellbinders Nestabilities Lattice Rectangles.
Cricut Cartridge:
  • The numbers were cut using the Opposites Attract cartridge.

  • Silver cardstock used as matting is Michael's open stock scrapbook paper.
Challenges I am hoping to enter...

Remember, you can join in Ike's challenge with a creation using any kind of medium or style but in order to qualify to win the prize you MUST use an Ike's Art image. You can find some fab ones in the store HERE.  There is also a freebie available over on the challenge blog that you can use to enter the challenge but please be respectful of the artist's rights and do not post, pin or share the image with anyone else. Instead, if you know some people who might like it, send them over to the challenge blog so they can pick it up for themselves.

What will you create using one of Ike's wonderful images? You have two weeks to pop over to Ike's World Challenges and play along with us in our Song/Film Title challenge. You can find out everything you need to know in order to play, by heading to the challenge blog. I've linked the logo at the top of the page to take you there. While you are over there, please be sure to check out the incredible creations offered up by some of my fellow DT members and don't forget to pop over to the challenge blog next Tuesday when team B's creations will be showcased. Don't forget to have a peek and check out all the amazing images in the store as well. The logo below is linked to take you there.

Until next time,
