Saturday Showcase: September 28, 2013

Hello!  I hope that you are all having a wonderful day in your corner of the world.

If you are new to my blog, it is time for the Saturday Showcase where I highlight other artists' work (whether it be stamps, cards or otherwise), a blog post offering a great technique, or I might even just pick a whole blog to showcase. The criteria I use is that it has to move me in some way (it makes me laugh or cry; awes, inspires or astounds me; etc). I believe that it is extremely important to support other artists within our creative community and this is one of the ways I am able to.  If you are new and would like to find out more on why I created the showcase, you can go HERE.

If you have been popping by every Saturday in September, you are well aware that I have had one particular blog in the spotlight.  As I mentioned at the beginning of September, my intentions were to focus the entire month on this amazing blog simply because it offers so many different features and it is impossible to cover it all in just one post.  At the beginning of September I covered the Vintage Digital Images displayed on this incredible blog.  Two weeks ago I showcased the phenomenal talent of the TLC Design Team.  Last week, I covered some of the awesome freebies that I have loved.  So, it is time to spend one last Saturday with the blog stylings of...

CREATE WITH TLC
My focus for this week is to show you some of the...
Miscellaneous Special Feautures
On This Blog
Owned and Operated by...
Paulette
Her store can be found HERE.

We have come to the final Saturday in September, and as such, it is time to finish our tour through the wonderful world of Create With TLC.

Did you know that Paulette has been at this for over 20 years?  I certainly didn't.  I thought she was extremely generous before but to have been giving away goodies for over two decades?  Well that is just phenonmenal!  It started with a Yahoo Group.  She had a huge mailing list of people that she shared her incredible creations with.  They also bounced ideas off of each other and developed friendships along the way.  That mailing list was for her printables--candy bar wrappers, boxes, little bags, etc.  Things that I and many others have only become familiar with in the past couple of years, she and her group have been creating long, long, LONG before I knew this world existed.  From the Group she moved to her own Forum and then that lead to the blog that so many of us love today.  What I found most incredible is that Rhonda from her DT along with about 30 of her followers, have been with her since the beginning.  Can you imagine the depths of those friendships?  I hope that I can be sitting here in 20 years with all of you guys still by my side.  Wouldn't that be an incredible testament to friendship?!!

Okay, so believe it or not, there are still some features of Paulette's blog that I haven't covered yet.  So how about we take a look at them...

FOLLOWER FREEBIES
Along with all of the freebies that Paulette give out in general, she also does something special for her followers.  By being a follower, meaning that your little picture is listed under her Crafting Buddies Section through Google Friends Connect, you have the opportunity to collect special, exclusive, one of a kind goodies by following the instructions laid out in these special posts.  Generally it means firing off an email to Paulette.  It can't get any more simple than that to add these unique items to your collection.  Since I started following almost a year ago, I have personally collected at least 21 of these wonderful vintage images.  For Paulette, it is an opportunity to thank all those people who continue to follow her and of course another excuse to party!  In fact, right now as of today, Create with TLC is celebrating
2,320 FOLLOWERS!
So what are you waiting for?  If you aren't already following just think of all the extra goodies you are missing out on!  Click HERE to find out what you need to do to get a hold of this unique bestowal.  Membership definitely comes with privileges!

TLC CLUBS
Another feature that is really cool is the TLC Clubs.  While in the past they have been a bit longer on occasion, now they are generally 5-10 days in length.  For an extremely low price considering what you get in return, you have goodies mailed directly to your inbox for the entire length of the club.
Right now the November Club is on sale.

For just $7.73 CA (€5.56, US $7.50, NZ $9.08, ZA R73.95--did I forget anyone? oh and please note that these prices will change daily [US excepted] in accordance with currency fluctuations), that is quite a phenomenal deal.  You are paying a little over a dollar a day CA to receive lots and lots of digis each day including word art, digis, vintage images, digital papers, coloured printables, etc.  To give you an example, one past kit had over 77 images in it and another one had 130. It all depends on the club and the length. The Halloween Club had over 160 images! The minimum that has ever been received is 12 images a day. That is like paying less than .10 cents an image.  You'd be hard pressed to find a deal like that anywhere on this planet!  Paulette's current intentions are to do one club every month.  There is usually something to celebrate each month and of course Paulette knows all the great holidays and occasions to observe (more on that in just a moment).

Paulette is graciously sharing with you all, a peek into this month's club exclusively for my readers...

So, if you have a little change lying around, this is definitely the perfect place to spend it.  If you are interested in checking the current Club out, I've linked the above two watermarks to take you straight to its location in the TLC Store.

Unique Dates for Celebration
Another feature I love is that Paulette knows, and often celebrates all the unique, weird and wonderful occasions right along with the more popular ones.  Where else would I learn about Hug a Vegetarian Day which was celebrated yesterday--and yes I did hug a vegetarian--a real live one--my hubs!  Then of course there is also:  Love Note Day, Confucius Day, Safety Pin Day, Vegetarian Day, Guardian Angels Day, Ten Four Day, and Balloons Around the World Day--and those are just SOME of the interesting occasions being celebrated just next week!  Paulette will often create unique word art pieces, papers or other printables to celebrate some of these obscure dates.  Only on TLC do we find word art to celebrate Intl Eat an Apple Day, or digital papers to honour Vinyl Record Day which is still available HERE or Clam Chowder Day which is still available HERE, if you are interested.  There are so many more to check out.  Have fun strolling through the archives to learn about days you never knew existed!

Scavenger Hunts
Another fun thing that Paulette does is to occasionally have a Scavenger Hunt.  Every now and again, she'll come across some really cool vintage images that she wants to share exclusively with people willing to take the time to play along; people that really appreciate her generosity, people who spend a moment thanking her, as opposed to the hoards who consistently grab and run without ever a word of thanks.  Sometimes it is just an image or two up for grabs, sometimes it can be many more. They are usually only available for a limited time and you never know when they are going to pop up; so, for those of you who enjoy these kinds of fun events make sure you check the blog each day, sometimes more than once a day!  You never know what you might miss, missing even just one post!

Freebie Mailing Service
Are you sometimes unable to be at your computer for a few days at a time?  Are you often so busy that you don't get a chance to download the freebies on Create With TLC BEFORE they have retired (fingers pointed firmly in my direction)?  What happens when you are away for the week and miss all the goodies Paulette has posted?  Well, I have a solution for you!  Another feature that Paulette offers is a Freebie Mailing Service.  Right now for the low fee of $6.00 US, Paulette will take the time to send each and every freebie posted during the month of October, directly to your inbox on a daily basis.  This way, you won't miss a single freebie offered during the month.  In fact, there just may be a few extra goodies that find their way to the members of the mailing service also! If you are interested in this service, please click HERE.  You can purchase it, directly from that post by clicking the 'buy now' button!

Random Acts Of Kindness

If you believe that kindness has fallen by the wayside, I'm afraid that seems to be the trend.  However, I am here to tell you that it really does still exist out there.  The many incredible readers and followers that I have who take the time to read my posts and share their thoughts, show me that it still exists.  The beautiful words and acts of kindness I see when visiting your blogs from the readers who have left YOU a kind word, show me that it still exists.  The many new friends that I have now who send me a card 'just because', or an email to make sure I am doing okay, or those who have sent me gifts for no reason at all, show me it still exists.  The very many artists out there who continue to offer freebies to their readers, even though the comments left are staggeringly low compared to the number of hits or downloads, show me that it still exists.  Today, this week alone I have been the recipient of TWO random acts of kindness.  One that I will be sharing with you in a different post.  The other was from the lady of the hour, Paulette herself. Kindness still exists and Create With TLC is a sure testament to that fact.

The last feature I am going to share with you today is based on this concept of random acts of kindness, or as they are also referred to: RAKs.   According to Wikipedia, a random act of kindness is a "selfless act performed by a person or people wishing to either assist or cheer up an individual person or people."  It is believed that the phrase may been coined by a lady named Anne Herbert.  She states that she wrote the words: "Practice random kindness and senseless acts of beauty" on a place mat in a restaurant in Sausalito, California in the US back in the early 1980s", and she believes that the concept of RAK, stemmed from someone picking up that quote and running with it.

Back in November of last year, Paulette tried to see how much kindness she could spread.  Given the thousands of people that visit daily, it was her hope that each person reading the post would take a moment and pass on some kindness to another.  Then, for those recipients to spend a minute passing it on even further.  Now while it didn't have quite the spreading effect that Paulette had hoped, it was certainly a beautifully thought out experiment; one I hope to duplicate in the future.  Can you image if all 2000 of her readers (that is roughly what her numbers were about a year ago) had taken the time to engage, and it had multiplied?  Think of all those moments of happiness, all those smiles, all that positive energy that could have lit up the world for a brief moment in time.  Just imagine the possibilites!  Two of the freebies that Paulette offered during that time are the watermarked ones I've used above.  If you want to send a little random act of kindness card to someone you care about, you can still get these images.  Just click on the watermarks above to go to the original post.

Another random act of kindness that Paulette did was to create a RACK--a Random Act of Christmas Kindness--last December.  In that case, she asked her readers to send her the email address of the person they would like to have RACKED.  Then, she in turn sent out a goodie to that person.  I myself was the fortunate recipient of a RACK from the lovely Suze of Craftysuze.  It was a complete surprise to me as I had been blogging for just a little over a month at the time and certainly didn't expect to be hit with a random act of kindness.  But that is the whole point isn't it?  That you just do something special for someone for no reason other than to show kindness?!

So, make sure that you keep your eyes opened for the opportunity to participate in a future RAK over on Create With TLC.  For that matter, keep your eyes opened for the chance to take part in a future RAK on this blog.  Paulette has inspired me in more than one way and I hope to be able to create my own little experiments to pass on kindness.  Kindness is one of the most valuable gifts you could ever give someone.  How many people have you gifted with a kind word or deed today?
_____________________________________________________________________________________
Wow.  What an incredible honour it has been covering all that is Create with TLCI am so grateful that Paulette agreed to let me showcase her blog and store throughout the month of September.  I hope that you have enjoyed your foray into the other unique features of Paulettes blog along with everything else that I have explored this past month.

The artists that I showcase work very hard to provide the inspiration that I bring to you.  Please be sure to go and check the world that is Create with TLC.  However, you'd better pack for comfort, you are going to want to stay and visit for awhile!  If you do pop over, leave Paulette a little bloggy love if you can, thanking her for all that she has provided us with over the years.  A little thank you can go a very long way.

Until next time,

Saturday Showcase: September 21, 2013

I hope you are all having a sensational Saturday everyone!

If you have been joined me the last two Saturdays, you'll have seen some really great stuff from Create With TLC.  As I mentioned at the beginning of September, the entire month will spotlight this awesome blog simply because it offers so many different features and it is impossible to cover it all in just one post.  At the beginning of September I covered the Vintage Digital Images displayed on this incredible blog.  Then last week I showcased the phenomenal talent of the TLC Design Team.  Today, I am pleased to continue to spotlight the blog stylings of...

CREATE WITH TLC
My focus for this week is to show you some of my favourite...

Freebies--Past & Present
The wonderful images displayed below are all created by...
Paulette
Her store can be found HERE.

As I am sure most of you can agree, freebies help draw us in to blogs.  While it is true that everyone loves to get their hands on a freebie, for some of us, that is the only way we can build our digital collections.  I, like many of you, do not have the financial capability to purchase images very often.  As much as I would like nothing better than to financially help support many of the amazing digital artists out there by purchasing their work, I just can't afford to spend money on extras like digi stamps more than once or twice a year.  If I end up rotating my purchases among the artists I support, each of them would only see my money every five years or so!  So while I do what I can to support these incredible artists in other ways, it is really great knowing that so many of these artists are willing to share their awesome talent by providing freebies.  One of the most generous artists I know is Paulette who provides oodles and oodles of freebies to her readers.

Today I am going to highlight some of my favourites.  Although, this was EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to narrow down.  There are just SO MANY that are SO AWESOME!  Don't think I am exaggerating either.  I currently have over 118 folders just in my word art file alone for TLC.  Each folder represents a different category such as birthday, love, thinking of you, etc.  Some of these folders such as my holidays and seasonal ones have even more folders within them to organize things further.  Then of course there is my papers folder that has 34 subcategores, my vintage images with 28, and there is even more.  That is a lot of images to be going through when determining my favourites!  However I did try and find the ones that touch me the most.  Here is what I came up with and the best thing is that some are still available for free...

Holiday Images...

Of course with my love of the Christmas season, there are quite a few from this category alone.

"What child is this?" is one of my favourite Christmas carols and Paulette has created this stunning scene to commemorate it.  I actually used it in a Christmas card I made for one of my sister-in-laws last year but never had the time to post it.  Sadly I can't seem to locate that card.  Too bad, it was one of my favourites.  Thankfully I still have the image so I can at least make some new ones.  (This image is no longer available for free.)

Speaking of Christmas carols, my absolute favourite carol is The Little Drummer Boy.  Even now I can envision the classic television show with the little claymation character of the tiny drummer boy laying his gift at the feet of Jesus.  Once again, images have the capacity to wrap you in wonderful memories and transport you to your past.  Art truly is amazing.  (This image is no longer available for free.)

"Ho, Ho, Ho".  Aren't those awesome words to hear during the Christmas season?  I love the ornament scene that Paulette put together with those wonderful words.  Santa is sure to love a card with this image on it.  You can still find this image available as a freebie.  Just click on the watermark below and it will take you to the original post it came from.

There is also this wonderful printable.  Joy is truly what the holiday season should be about and this image definitely brings me some joy.  The swirls and flourishes and the antiqued look are just so cool.  Unfortunately, this image is no longer available as a freebie.  Boy am I lucky I grabbed it when I did!

Speaking of joy, there is also this beautiful creation.  I've always loved music notes mixed in with cards and images.  I've just personally never found a way to do it myself yet.  Maybe one day soon.  These words, "Today I will choose joy" are not only important at Christmas time but important all year around.  (This image is no longer available for free.)

What Christmas collection would not be complete without at least one kitty hitting the favourite list.  This vintage background, that could easily be used as a backdrop for a Christmas card, is so very precious.  There are also two other variations of it and all you kitty cat lovers will be happy to know it is still available for free download.  Click the watermark to check out the original post.

It isn't completely about Christmas.  I do love other holidays too, including Easter.  This sweet bunny paper is definitely on my favourite list as well.  It is just so sweet.  I have to wonder what plan the two of them are hatching out.

I also really like these cool new year's tickets.  I positively love the ticket shape for some reason.  I'm not exactly sure why I am so drawn to it but it rates right up there on my most unique shapes list.  What?  You don't have a list of the most unique shapes you've come across?  Hmmm...I guess maybe it is just me.  Anyways, while the set is from 2009, there are nine that are a part of it and only one that is no longer usable unless of course you are creating a scrapbook page with pics from four years ago, then you could make use of all nine.  The zip folder is still available for download.  Click on the watermark below to check out the originating post.

Seasonal Images...

I love collecting digital papers as much as I love making them.  Create With TLC has some really cool ones.  I just wished that printer ink wasn't so expensive or I'd definitely be using more of them.  This one for example is certainly one of my favourites from the winter season.  The snowflakes are just so unique.  You'll be happy to know that it is still available along with two other similar ones within the same post.  Just click on the watermark below and it will take you to the original post it came from.

Something I've always wanted to create is subway art and Paulette creates some of the finest.  Here is an example of a winter one that is still available for download too.  Just follow the same instructions by clicking on the watermark.
You can find another really cool one HERE (January/winter themed) and HERE (November/Thanksgiving themed) and also HERE (fairy tailed themed)--all still available for free.  There is some really cool word art using various words in a configuration HERE (Christmas themed) and another HERE (Winnie the Pooh).  There is definitely more out there, you just need to look for them.

General Images...

Aren't these flowers just the sweetest things?  There is something so casual about them but so endearing as well.  What is really sweet is that Paulette still has it up on the blog available for download.  Click on the watermark below to find out what you have to do to grab it.

Check out these butterflies!  For any of you who are butterfly lovers these are sure to hit home.  To be honest I just found them last night when I was looking for watermarks for all my favourite images.  So while they are a new favourite, they are still on the list as one of the best general items I've picked up over at Create With TLC.  These are the main colours I have in my home so I have definite plans for them down the road.  It truly is amazing what gems you can still find for free over on the blog.  I know there is still a lot I need to go through and hopefully one of these years I will actually find the time to catch up completely on the incredible goodies Paulette has available.  Click on the watermark if you want to find out how to nab these beauts for yourself.

The final general image I am going to share with you today is this stunning vintage deer image.  What a gorgeous specimen of the animal kingdom.  So majestic!  Think of all the cards you could create using this exquisite creature.  What you don't have it?  Well, we can fix that.  Paulette still has him available but since you never know when he might disappear, I'd recommend getting him and some of the other images I've highlighted, as soon as you've finished this post.  You wouldn't want to miss out on the opportunity to add him to your collection because you procrastinated now would you?  Click on the watermark and follow the link to obtain him.

Inspiration at its finest...

Of course, some of my favourites have to do with faith, hope and inspiration in general.

One that I love in particular is the expression 'Faith makes all things possible'.  It is the constant hope that belief alone, that faith that all will be well, and it will be.  This is a wonderful sentiment to use on a card where you need someone to believe that everything will be all right.  While it is no longer a freebie, it is available as part of the "Stand Fast In Faith" set.  I've linked up the set watermark to bring you directly to the store in case you want to look for it.

Just as important as faith, is the concept of hope.  This sentiment below is another one that is precious to me.  Just like with faith, hope is all a matter of belief.  There have been studies that have proven that people who think positively heal much better and quicker than those who think negatively.  There really is power in believing that the only expectation is a hopeful one.  (This image is no longer available for free.)

Check this next one out.  Do you know someone who needs a kick in the pants?  Someone who is standing by doing nothing while the days of their life rush by?  Well, how about a card with this awesome sentiment.  Paulette has a different take on what this sentiment means to her and you can read it in the originating post.  I love how two people can look at the exact same image and come away from it with two entirely different meanings.  That is another wonderful attribute of images and sentiments.  If you are interested, it is still available for download.  Click on the watermark to go to the original post.

The concept behind this image falls into the same idea of the first two I listed in the inspirational category.  By choosing to do something positive such as prayer, you have a better chance of a successful outcome.  Despair will lead you nowhere except to a very dark place.  Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt, NEVER want to return.  So for me, the choice will always be prayer over despair.  Know anyone going through a rather difficult time?  If so, a card with this sentiment on it might be in order.  If you are interested, it is still available for download.  Click on the watermark to go to the original post.

We are never guaranteed how many days we have in this wonderful world of ours so it is imperative that each of us lives each and every single one of them to the fullest.  Paulette's sentiment below is the perfect reflection of this ideal. (This image is no longer available for free.)

The following expression is very meaningful to me because it is very close to my own personal mantra of 'Never Surrender'.  It has the same meaning and it is an image I should be printing out and posting at my work station.  I've been through many difficulties in my life and these words definitely resonate within my heart. Do you know of anyone who could use these words of encouragement?  If you do, the image is still available for free.  Click on the watermark to learn how to get it.

Looking for a really cool spiritual print out?  Then look no further than HERE for the fabulous sample below.

Love Related Images...

I am also a sucker when it comes to the concept of love.  I'm of the belief that if there was just more love and tolerance in the world, it would be a much happier place.  So it is apt that a few of my favourites come from this category as well.

Check out the sweet stamps that come in this set of love related words.  Cool flourishes and beautiful script come together to make five awesome stamps.  What is great about them is that they can be used for weddings, anniversaries, Valentine's day or to just express love in general.  Best of all this set is still free.  Click on the watermark to learn how to grab it.

You might recognize this one from a card I did back in August.  It was for a wedding card and this sentiment was perfect for the card I created.  It is such a beautiful saying and I know I will be using it again and again.  It is also still available free for download. Just click on the watermark and head over to the post it came from to find out how you can get your hands on it.

What a wonderful way to tell someone you love dearly, how truly much they mean to you.  This sentiment is one I'm hoping to use soon on a card to my husband to show him just how important he really is to me.  (This image is no longer available for free.)

The best things in life truly are made with love.  If not, why would we spend all this time coming up with crafty creations to give to the people around us that are so near and dear to our lives?  This sentiment is the perfect accompaniment to a variety of cards.  Best thing is that it is also still free for download.  Click the watermark to go check it out.

Friendship...

I couldn't create this post with at least one fabulous example of a friendship favourite.  This image truly spells out exactly what a friend is.  I know of several new ones I'd love to create a card for using this sentiment.  (This image is no longer available for free.)

Other Occasions....

There are many other types of occasions that Paulette has had freebies for.  Often, the stamps are really versatile and can be used for more than one occasion.  These of course are the stamps I enjoy the most because it is great to have ample opportunities to use them.  This, "Make today your day" is one of them.  I've used it for a birthday card but it would be suitable for other situations too.  (This image is no longer available for free.)

Finally, I leave you with this one.  When you first come into my home, you will find words very similar to this on the wall in our front entrance.  Home truly is where each family's story originates.  We all have such incredibly varied stories to tell.  Wouldn't this be an awesome sentiment for a card you need to send to someone who is beginning their own journey as they start out on their own in life?  Well, if you agree, you can still find this wonderful word art for free on the blog.  Click on the watermark to go to the originating post.

I could go on and on but my fingers are really getting cramped.  There are so many categories I haven't been able to cover but this definitely gives you a glimpse in the amazing world of freebies available over at Create With TLC.  If you are not following this blog you are missing SO VERY MUCH so change that by becoming a follower today.

Now if you do happen to pop over and add any of the images I've showcased today to your collection, please, please, please be sure to leave Paulette a little bit of love.  She offers so much to us for free.  A little kindness and a polite thank you is really not much to ask for in return.

Also, just before I go, I am sorry if the repeating of how to get any of the images available for free is a bit annoying.  It is annoying to me and I wrote it!  It is just that I have learned that many people don't read everything in my posts and usually just skim through to find something that appeals to them so I figured the easiest thing would be to simply include the instructions on each image.  I know that isn't you of course since you are reading this paragraph now, but for those who don't, it is just easier to repeat it.
___________________________________________________________________________

I am so grateful that Paulette has agreed to let me showcase her blog and store throughout the month of September.  I hope that you have enjoyed your foray into the land of freebies and will join me again next week as we explore another facet of the world that is Create with TLC.  I still have stuff to share with you regarding this amazing site.

The artists that I showcase work very hard to provide the inspiration that I bring to you.  Please be sure to go and check out some more of the fantastic freebies generously provided by Paulette and while you are there, leave her a little bloggy love if you can.

Until next time,

Saturday Showcase: September 14, 2013

It is coming out a bit late today, but after you see how much is packed into this weekend's showcase you'll understand why I needed the extra time to put it together.  Thankfully, it is still Saturday in my corner of the world.

Now, as I mentioned last week, the month of September is going to focus on one blog in particular simply because it offers so many different features and it is impossible to cover it all in just one post.  Last week I covered the Vintage Digital Images featured on this incredible blog.  Today, I am pleased to continue to spotlight the blog stylings of...

Create With TLC

My focus for this week points to some...
Card Creations
The wonderful projects displayed below are all from DT members over on Create With TLC owned by
Paulette
Her store can be found HERE.

One of the great features of Paulette's blog is that she showcases the awesome work of her Design Team on an almost daily basis.  She also shows off the work of other individuals who create using her images.  As I mentioned last week, Create With TLC was one of the first blogs I became familiar with and as a result I saw all the different types of creations that could be made:  cards, tags, games, wrappers, and more!

Today I am going to show you some of favourites from the last year.  This list could have gone on and on but I had to cut it somewhere or I'd still be putting this post together sometime in March of 2014.  Yes, her team is that talented and she is adding to it having recently declared a DT call that ends tonight.  I don't envy Paulette the decision of having to choose from what I am sure is a multitude of applications.

Each of the cards I have chosen to showcase will feature one of Paulette's creations.  It might be an image or a sentiment or possibly even a paper as Paulette creates those too.  Also, please note that each card is linked up to the post where it originally came from.

Karen

Isn't this Christmas card just beautiful?  I love how Karen split the card down the middle and has two different foci (well three if you include the sentiment).  However, if you look closely you will see the theme of the snowflake running through both sides to serve as a bridge.  Her colouring is superb too!  Finally, the sentiment is the perfect accompaniment to the overall theme making this a truly special Christmas card.

Hetty

This card is simply purr-fect.  Hetty has kept the layout simple and let the elements speak for themselves.  I love the funky background and contrast of colours.  Of course that cat is pretty cool itself.  The design and colours are beautiful and I love how she added the little gemstones to it.  Did you also notice the paw prints on the pennant?  Too cute!  Of course Paulette's sentiment is the purr-fect match to this card.  I don't know how she manages it, but Paulette always has the exact sentiment that you need and they are so creative in nature.  I truly don't know what I'd do without so many of Paulette's sentiments to choose from!

There have been a couple 'Learned from the Cat..." ones lately that are just priceless.  You can find the one Hetty used in the Cats and Potato Chips Vintage Set.

Candy

I love the playful nature of this card from Candy.  She starts off with some great paper, adds some cool chevrons and then offsets her image giving the card a really neat look.  She uses a really cute image that she coloured wonderfully and then pairs it with a simple but straight to the point sentiment.  This card would be perfect to get reacquainted with someone you've lost touch with or to be the starting point in a difficult conversation that must be had.

This sentiment is from the Anyone There Set. I love how Paulette made the sentiments in this set into conversation bubbles.  Very creative and effective.

Jill

There is just something about this card that really moves me.  I love the combination of the very pretty and feminine papers that Jill has chosen to use and really like the intricacies of the many different layers.  However, I am probably most taken with the precious image she chose to use paired with that wonderful sentiment.  While I can no longer physically dance like this due to my disability, I certainly have happy feet that long to.  Additionally, I just love the spirit that is captured in this card. There is such a sense of strength of character.  This woman cares nothing about what any thinks or how she is perceived.  She simply exists to be herself without any fear.  I think more of us wish that we could live with such fearlessness and not worry about how others think of us.  To have the ability to have 'happy feet' all the time would be splendid indeed.

Carla

This is such a special card.  Once again the papers, layout and embellishments set up a beautiful backdrop but it is the image and sentiment that tell the true story.  There is such a precious love story going on here.  With over half of the married population ending in divorce, it truly is nice to see a couple that has lasted through the testament of time and all the challenges it brings.  The couple in this image is just darling and it is sweet to see that even after all their years together he still tries to woo her with flowers.  The sentiment is the crowning piece that pulls it all together and shines hope on the idea that love is eternal.  Deep sigh....

Cynthia

Talk about positive!  Cynthia has created a wonderfully uplifting card that would be sure to bring a smile to any recipient lucky enough to receive it.  Bright and cheery designer paper and ric rac ribbon are coupled together with an inspiring image and sentiment.  How can you not walk away from this card without a smile on your face.  I dare you!

You can find this sweet sentiment in the One Moment Can Set.

Jennifer

Jennifer has created a gorgeous card filled with optimism.  While some of the words are hidden they include such positive phrases as: forgiveness, faithfulness, service, hope, grace, praise, peace and so many more.  Jennifer has fabricated a exquisite composite to truly reflect the promise of hope in all its forms.  Without hope to hold on to life has no promise for the future.  Adlin Sinclair says it best with these words:
“Without faith, hope and trust, there is no promise for the future, and without a promising future, life has no direction, no meaning and no justification.”

Looking at Jennifer's beautiful creation, one can't help but be inspired to keep hope alive in their heart.

Rhonda Sue

Rhonda Sue is always making the neatest things using Paulette's various elements.  She creates, can labels, chocolate bar wrappers, tic tac toe games, note sets and so many other creations and often makes them available as freebies.  One of my favourite creations from Rhonda Sue is her Elf Pillows and Reindeer Noses, treat packs.  This is such a creative idea and perfect for stocking stuffers or little treat packs to hand out at Christmas to the kids' teachers or friends, or for anyone else for that matter.

The Elf Pillows label is from Paulette's Last Minute Christmas Gift Digis Set.

The Christmas magic label is from the I Believe in Digi Rounds kit.

The elves saying is from the Be Like the Elves Christmas Digi Set.

Lisa Lynn

It is a good thing that one of the first blogs I become acquainted with was Create with TLC or there may have just been two double L blogs out there. Only in my case it would have been Lisa Lyn with only the one 'n'. I had toyed with the idea of Lisa Lyn with the addition of a couple extra L words or Decosse's Dynamite Doodles. However, given that I found out there was already a Lisa Lynn out there I figured it might be confusing and so went with my DDD. However, if I ever get to the point where I have to create a second blog because I've run out of space, now that I've established myself I might just make use of my other name choice one day but enough about me.

This card is one that really appeals to that spiritual part of me. Lisa Lynn has done a beautiful job laying out a lovely foundation from which the concept of prayer can spring forth through her choice in image and sentiment. Often people get stuck in not knowing what to say in their prayers. They sometimes feel that their words aren't sufficient or need to be very formal. However, candidly put, prayers can just be a conversation between you and the higher power you believe in and they can begin with one straightforward word and flow from there. Some prayers can simply be one heart felt word alone like please or help. Just speak from your heart and your prayer will take off in the direction it is meant to go.

Vicky

That brings us to the final member of Paulette's team and my dear, dear friend Vicky.  While I'm taken with many of Vicky's cards, it is one of her more recent ones that I believe is my new favourite.  Vicky just recently celebrated her 400 follower milestone (Congrats Vicky!).  To help celebrate this special occasion, Paulette generously allowed Vicky to share with her followers one of the Create With TLC images.  So of course, Vicky created a card to showcase this special digi.  So as it turns out, not only is it one of my favourite TLC images, it also happens to adorn one of my favourite cards from Vicky.  I just love everything about the card, the paper choices, the monochromatic colour scheme, that gorgeous ribbon and bow, and of course the cute punny sentiment. The feathers and that sweet little charm add the finishing touches to make this card fabulous.  Right now you can grab that image for yourself by going to Vicky's post HERE but don't forget to leave both her and Paulette a little love in return.
