Card Design: Pattie's Creations Challenge #172…Anything Goes

http://pattiescreationschallenge.blogspot.ca

Hello there folks! I hope that each of you is continuing to stay healthy in your own little corner of this world. While some locations are doing okay with the re-opening there are other areas that opened way too quickly and are now suffering a a result with significantly increased cases. There is also speculation that a second wave is hitting but the first hasn't even finished yet in some places. Good luck to us all as we continue to battle this awful virus that has affected over 10 million people and taken over 500,000 from the world way too soon!

I'm popping in today to announce the next challenge over at Pattie's Creations Design Challenge. This time around for Challenge #172, the theme is Anything Goes. Once again you can upload your projects with any kind of theme. If the image looks familiar, I used it a couple of months ago on a birthday card. I needed to create 10+ thank you cards for hubby who received some money from his siblings for his 70th birthday. I asked hubby to look through some images I had so that he could decide what to use on the cards since they were coming from him after all, and he chose the adorable mice image you'll see below. Now I just have to get them printed and assembled!

General Project Info:
  • This card has been created 100% digitally and then layered in a Mock Up (courtesy of Frisk Shop). It was printed out and assembled prior to dissemination.
  • The inside of the card has been left blank for hubby to write his thank you note.

FRONT

Digital Image Details:
  • Mice with Presents is available for sale in Pattie's Etsy shop. You can find it by clicking on the image name. This image has been coloured digitally. Credits include:

    • The bow was altered using a layer style from HG Designs
    • The gift boxes were paper pieced using papers from Poppymoon Designs (details below).

Digital Sentiment Details:
  • The sentiments used on the front was created by Paulette from Create with TLC. For great freebies and inspiration be sure to click HERE to go to Paulette's blog and for awesome sets for purchase, click HERE to go to the home page of the store.

Card Design: Gerda Steiner Designs Progressive Challenge…April

http://gerdasteinerdesigns.com

Hey folks! First I just want to say sorry to all my loyal friends, followers and readers. Unfortunately, life has thrown me a curveball and for the last six weeks or so my life has been turned upside down. As such, my time on the computer has been significantly reduced and has greatly affected my ability to keep up with all my work--both behind the scenes and on my blogs. I haven't been able to get the freebies done I normally would have for this time of year and have sadly had to take a leave of absence from one of the teams I am on and drop a couple other things. I hope I am back 'full time' again with the next few months but until then I miss you all and hope that you understand!

One of the things I am trying hard to not drop the ball on is my progressive card for the Gerda Steiner Designs Progressive Challenge. May will mark my FOUR year anniversary with this progressive challenge and I REALLY want to stick with it for as long as I am able. I just love Gerda's work!

Check out the adorable image that we got to work with this month...

Card Design: From the Heart Stamps March Challenge

    http://fromtheheartstamps.com/community/blog/

Hello everyone! I hope that none of you has had the misfortune of catching the serious stomach flu bug that seems to be EVERYWHERE! My husband battled it for over a month and my body couldn't hold the germs back any longer. As such,my body finally succumbed to it. I haven't been this sick in close to 15 years. I was in bed close to two days straight and didn't eat for five. Even now I'm able to consume very little and as a result am extremely weak. It is bad enough that I was trying to catch up after my head cold from the week before but now...well, I'm not sure I'll ever catch up. My time is extremely limited on the computer and there is so much to do. All I can ask is for your patience if you are waiting to hear back from me.

Thankfully I had almost finished colouring my images for both FTHS and GSD progressive challenges beforehand so it was only a matter of putting the cards together and I am so grateful that I was able to as I'd hate to lose out on either of these amazing progressive challenges especially when FTHS just restarted.

Anyway, that is it for the update from me. Time to get on with showcasing my card for this month's challenge over at From the Heart Stamps (FTHS)! In order to enter the FTHS progressive challenge, you must either have received the latest image by having participated in the previous month or you can buy the stamp for the current month's challenge. Everyone who enters and follows the rules is a winner because you automatically get the stamp for the next month's challenge. Stop by the site and check out the rules for yourself. While you are there, have a look around. They have some really awesome images.

    General Info:
    •  I have a new program for image colouring that I'd love to gush about but it will have to wait until I'm feeling better. I will say that it was soooo much fun colouring my image in. I'm in love with this new application but enough on that for now.
    • This card has been created 100% digitally and then layered in a Mock Up (courtesy of Frisk Shop). I will print it out and assemble it a later date.
    • I was inspired by an old From the Heart Stamps sketch for this card.

    FRONT

    Digital Image Details:
    • The image on the front, Lucky Lil Birdie, is available for purchase over at From the Heart Stamps. Click on the title or on the watermark below to go to its location in the store.
    • If you missed out, you can still play along with the challenge by purchasing the image. Then you can enter the challenge and receive next month’s digi free. Alternatively, if you spend $10 in the From The Heart Stamps store this month, you'll receive the image for free. To find the special code you need, be sure to check out the original post by clicking HERE.
    • This image was coloured digitally:
      •  The background was 'air-brushed'.
      • The remainder was mostly 'watercoloured', with a bit of 'pencil' work and some 'markers'.

    Digital Embellishments:
    • The are from two of my own kits.
    • The tag under the sentiment was created using a template from Marisa Lerin, a designer with Pixel Scrapper
    • The button string is an element from Sheila Reid, also with Pixel Scrapper.

Card Design: Scribbles Designs Challenge #32...Boys Will Be Boys

Hello and a very happy Saturday to you all of you.  I've been a bit MIA this past week and a half.  Last Thursday the hubs and I finally got a way for a few days to go and visit family.  Unfortunately, while away I had a few medical conditions flare up and needless to say it wasn't our best trip away.  Nor has this past week been an easy one but I am slowly coming back around.  It is a good thing as today marks the start of our new challenge over at the Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog.

This time around, for Challenge #32, the theme is Boys Will Be Boys.  It is time to celebrate the men in our lives.  Fathers, husbands, brothers, uncles, nephews and friends.  Many of us have a plethora of men to choose from. For others there may just be a few.  This month create a card for one of the special men in your own life.  Many of us seem to shy away from making these more masculine projects; so, it is time to challenge ourselves and break out our images, papers and embellishments and make something manly.  Boy oh boy, we can't wait to see what you come up with!

In order to participate in our challenges you DO NOT NEED TO USE A SCRIBBLES DESIGNS IMAGE on your project but you must follow the monthly theme and the other rules that have been established for our particular challenge blog.  You can find them, along with the prize information, listed in the right hand sidebar of the challenge blog.  This challenge will end at 9pm PST on September 14th.

You can purchase your Scribbles Designs images HERE and there is a free image over on the challenge blog as well to help get you started.  Also, be sure to check out the special Freebie Friday posts as it is another great way to build your Scribbles Designs collection.

To help inspire you, I have created a digital 'thank you' card with a masculine vibe that I will also make into a physical card as well when I get the chance.  This card features one of the fabulous sentiments offered up by Scribbles Designs.

Here are my card and all the details...

    General Information:
    • This card was created 100% digitally and then layered in a poster mockup.
    • I have used an old sketch from From the Heart Stamps.
    FRONT
    Digital Sentiment Details:
    • Thank You Quote:  I love this fun blocky sentiment.  It provides a great set up for digital paper piecing which is what I did.  Click on the watermark below to find this sentiment in the SD store.
