Second Skin

This white hot little Gianni Versace lace dress is perfect for those of you who love a body conscious look that shows off your curves. The lower portion is a white geometric cotton lace that gives way to a floral lace around the neck and down the back. White lace tends to be very feminine or "sweet" but this dress throws a little rocker edge into the mix. The seam where the two laces meet is sewn in a zig-zag pattern, as are the edges around the arms and neckline. My favorite part is the white lacing pattern down the entire back of the dress (Very Sexy).

Day Tripper

Spring hasn't sprung yet, but when it does this little number would be perfect for the occasion. Gianni Versace was well known for his scarf prints, but this is quite the departure form what he usually did. The average scarf print was very similar to/in the vein of an Hermes scarf print, with vibrant color and very sharp geometric patterns. The print in this dress is, with its fluorescent colors and free-form design, is much closer to a Pucci print.

The viscose jersey material is very lightweight and perfect for those long, hot SoCal summer days that we're all longing for. There is a chiffon insert at the bodice that is gathered with a tie. In the back below the hips there are three inserts creating a fishtail that gives the dress great movement from behind.

Now everyone pray for warm weather so this dress can get out and have some fun!

Dayglow Denim Spells FUN FUN FUN!!!

The Thierry Mugler silhouette is unmistakable! The pronounced shoulder, cinched waist, and ample lapel reflect his ideal of a sexy, strong and powerful woman. The material is a very washed out, almost powder blue denim. The bottom of the jacket and the lapel are lined with dayglow yellow/green buttons, adding a fun futuristic vibe to the overall look of the piece.

Going, Going . . .

For those of you that follow the blog religiously (as all of you should) you may have noticed us posting a lot of Hervé Léger. Well I am sad to announce that this is the last of that amazing Couture Herve collection. What better dress to close the collection than the simple black bandage dress?

This dress represents everything that Hervé Léger stood for: simple, sexy and flawless. The straps cling just off the shoulder exposing an effortless décolletage. From there the black bands tenderly constrict the body as they wind down the thighs to the knee high slit in back.

I would pair this gown with a pair of 6" black snakeskin Louboutins and a blood red shade of lipstick.

FRINGE WITH BENEFITS

We get a lot of calls from people excited to sell their vintage treasures. Every call is a possibility of something fabulous, but alas not always a guarantee of closet filled with temptations. Case in point: Last week a lovely woman contacted me about her clothing which included Givenchy Couture, Loris Azzaro, and this Norma Kamali ombre fringe dress. I had previously purchased a great navy and white Lanvin a few years ago from the same stylish woman, so naturally I was anticipating a major haul. Alas, the only piece that moved me was this Kamali fringe dress. She wore it while performing in Las Vegas circa 1980 when she had a hit disco single (dying to find the You Tube video!).

I always love fringe and am always drawn to anything tonal or ombre. This is a dress for celebrating and dancing. I must inform you that the skirt is completely revealing, so when the fringe shimmies, you may be showing your hiney. Consequently, when the original owner performed in this dress, she wore matching pants. If hot pants aren't your thing, I love figuring out sartorial solutions with clients, so perhaps we could add a jersey slip or a body suit. I would avoid spanks. Think of me as a friend with benefits (stylish ones) and this dress as fun fringe with benefits!

Peak a boo! At Decades, we are always mad for the slinky and sexy designs of Loris Azzaro. The equivalent of the French Halston, this gold chainmail halter attached to a brown jersey dress insures every night gives Studio 54 a run for the money even in the 21st Century! It will fit a modern size 4 to 6. The back is so sexy we wanted to post that image before the text!
