This early 70s I. Magnin fisher fur coat may look like a sable, but it's fisher fur which is part of the Mustalidae family that includes sable, otter and mink. As the American cousin to sable, fisher fur feels fabulous (say that ten times super fast) and is widely sought after by the rich and famous. It is durable, soft and warm. As we do with all our vintage furs, this coat has been meticulously cleaned and glazed and is ready for an afternoon stroll through Central Park, a late night bite at L'Avenue in Paris, or for sitting at home, indulging in your favorite guilty pleasure reality show while feeling like a million bucks in your sort-of-sable fisher!

FUR FOR RIGHT NOW

Fur in 90 degree-plus weather? Are we crazy? Yes, we are all a little bonkers here at Decades, we confess. Probably the mix of 90s degree-plus weather, the terrible fires surrounding Los Angeles, and the thankfully busy nature of our business between the blog and storefront on Melrose Ave. We may be crazy, but we have style and know that a chinchilla wrap lined in velvet with pockets can be worn on a summer evening or on a winter day. It can look sporty or formal over an Arnold Scaasi gown. It's great on a plane to combat an inevitable chill and the type of wrap that makes all your pashminas just seem a bit to past-mina. Wrap yourself in chinchilla. Nothing feels better.

ARE YOU FOXY?

We love a good fox and we think most of our clients at Decades are foxes, too! For those feeling extra foxy, here is moxie foxy by Yves Saint Laurent Fourrure. In the most cotton candy-est shade of pink, and featuring a wide collar and full bodied fox fur silhouette, this coat goes both ways: it can be worn in the day with a turtle neck and pants; or, over a gown for a cool night. This is a coat that has amazing glamour so it's a day-to-night winner. Decades is very selective about the furs we sell. Condition is always paramount and this fox is supple and highly fluffy - a fur necessity fur sure. Fur is so expensive to buy new. Designer furs are astronomical. A vintage designer fur (only in tip-top condition) is a relative bargain. This one costs about 1/10th of what the same fur would be today at an YSL boutique. This coat is a whole lot of bang for a relative small buck. With winter here and temperatures dipping, isn't it time you dip into something foxy?
