DLA Palaro '09

My kid got invited again to dance during the intermission of DLA Palaro '09 by Teacher
Avic, she's my son's adviser two years ago. Along with his friends in grade 3 level (Trish,
Patis, Yurie & Ken). These kids are somewhat like my adopted children! (At sila rin ang
suking
mananayaw ni T. Avic!). This time, they got to do a hip-hop dance which is a big
change from the ballroom dance they usually did for the past two years.

WS #49 - Kulit's Jazz Class

Join here.

About a month ago I enrolled my Little One in a ballet class. After several meetings he had, Teacher Eli, the artistic director, wanted him to join also the Jazz Class they offer. It would help my kid's coordination and body positioning while dancing. He's very fond of my Kulit because he said that my Little One has potentials to be a great dancer someday. Wow! nice compliment! (syempre uber ang ngiti ko hanggnang tenga, proud mommy, hehe! Buti na lang sa mga lolo at lola nagmana hindi sa aming mag-asawa!) It was only yesterday I took photos of him. It was his third time to attend the said class. He didn't had a hard time memorizing the dance steps though it's quite fast for him. Just need more practicing so that he can keep up with his fellow dancers. By the way, he is the only boy and the youngest in this class. But I guess, it doesn't bother him simply because he enjoys dancing so much and learns a lot from it. Even here in our home he practices the dance steps and can't wait for the weekend to come.... LOL!

What’s your kids fear food factor?

My Little One is sometimes picky with foods. He loves noodles, fish, seafoods, fruits and mad about chocolates One of his favorites, is Chowking's Chicken Noodles. The weird thing about it, is the way he eats it. He removes the noodles in the bowl, then, transfers it to a plate. Retaining the chicken meat and veggie. He wouldn't eat it. Then, back to the noodles, he doesn't like to cut it. He would eat the noodles like Chinese people do. You can hear the sipping and slurping sound, LOL!

Priceless!

As I was about to start cooking dinner. When i open our faucet... viola! no water! Grrr! our water supply lately is very erratic. Outside before you reach our village you will see a lot of pipes leaking. Even if you report it to the authorities. There is no action done.

Hayyy! Usually, by ths time the water supply is fine until 11 pm. It's really hard to cook and clean afterwards the kitchen if your water is limited. Got so irritated. The husband even told me not to cook anymore and just have our food delivered. But I didn't feel like it. I just continue what I had started. While doing so, our Lil'one asked me, "Ma, are you okay?" (Ma, ok ka lang?). I said, "No, I'm not okay." and asked him why? He told me, "I thought your mad at me because your angry." I told him, "I'm not mad at you. Why would I be mad at you? It's just that, I'm so irritated that there's no water again!" He just gave a big hug and kissed me on the cheek. sweet, isn't he? My kiddo maybe makulit but he's also very sweet and affectionate. In an instant he can make me smile, takes away my being irritated. This is one of the good things of being a mom.... priceless!

Photo Hunt 115 "Water"

Our boat trip going to Coco Beach Island Resort, Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro, Phils. last summer. Actually, I was taking a photo of my kiddo while he was enjoying the ride. But the trip was too bumpy because of the big waves. I can't keep my hand steady. Anyways, the picture was great! I got it while the water is splashing. Perfect for this week's theme!

Friday Is Noodle Day For My Lil'One

Today, is Lucky Me's Instant Pancit Canton Day or Noodle Day! That is, every Friday! That's the deal I had with my Lil'One. He is only allowed to eat instant nooodles once a week. He loves it so much, particularly instant pancit canton and goes ga-ga over it! I know, it is unhealthy because of the high level content of sodium and mono-sodium glutamate (MSG). That is why, it is only taken once a week. And also, a little reward for him after being a good kid in school.

After we got home from school, I immediately went to the kitchen, washed my hands and cooked 2 packs of instant pancit canton for his merienda. As he was putting his school bag in its proper place, changing his clothes and putting his school lunch box to the sink. You can see the eyes of my kiddo twinkling with glee! That's how much he loves noodles specially this one! The commercial of this product is true.... anti-sumpong.... anti-lowbat (",)

In the photo, my Lil'One is showing off his favorite Pancit'on (that's what he calls it!), in his two favorite flavors, "Kalamansi" (green package) and the "Sweet-Spicy" (orange package).

Picking/Fetching

For this year, I am the one who will be accompanying my kiddo to school and fetching him from it, sometimes the husband, if he wanted to or if I need to be somewhere else. Unlike before, he had a school service. This time, I had a hard time finding a school service for him, in which, he will be picked up here in our house, 30 minutes prior his school time starts. When he was in grades 1 & 2, he was in morning class. But for now, he wanted to try and experience the afternoon class. I let him be. That's when I encountered the problem with his school service schedule. But the good thing about it, his school is near and only within the next subdivision to ours. I get to walk going there for about 35-40 minutes... good thing for me! I get to exercise daily. And also, I can do some errands outside the house in between. So, I decided, I'll be the one doing it!

For now, I need to go. I'll be paying some utility bills before I pick my little man in school (",)

Photo Hunt 114 "Emotion"

Taken two years ago at the rink, my Lil'One was crying after the incident of diving on the ice. He scratched half of his face as you can see in the photo. No one to blame because it was his fault. He can't seem to stop goofing around.... so malikot and makulit! You know kids... they will never stop until they get hurt...

Hidden Mickey

As I said from my previous post, we had a late breakfast at Chowking yesterday. My kiddo had his ever-favorite sunny-side-up egg and garlic rice. When it was delivered to our table. He whispered something to my ear, "Look Ma, it's a hidden mickey!" and smiles giddily. Just look at the photo above. That's how amazing a kid's imagination can be! Like any other kids I know, he loves to watch Disney Channel.

Pink Eye

After 3 weeks, it is finally gone. My little one suffered a pink eye, it is a food allergy that manifested in his eyes, the ophthalmologist said. The doctor gave me an anti-allergy ophthalmic solution that will be used strictly for 5 days, a drop for both eyes, twice a day. As the days passed the redness gradually disappeared. What a relief! As another school year starts tomorrow, I'm glad he is okay now. My kiddo got so conscious about his eyes, he's always always asking me when will the redness be gone. For now, as a precautionary measure as to not repeat the situation, he's not allowed to eat his favorite foods like fish, shrimps, crabs and other seafoods.

Weekend Snapshot - Hannah

Ninong Kulit kissing Hannah's foot.

Hannah eating (for someone so small she has a huge appetite!).

Tita Andeng washing Hannah's bottom.

sleeping like a log...

Got a pretty and cute visitor last Saturday. It's my kiddo's very first grandchild, Hannah. She's also her cousin from his father. She came with her mom, Apeng and Tita Andeng. We had a blast having her here in our home, making her cry, teasing, playing and feeding her. Fyi, like his Ninong Kulit, they are both small but terrible, both has huge appetite and both very charming! I hope as promised by her Mom, she'll be back again for a visit.

Everytime we passed by Bread Talk. We're always full to try their breads. But last Saturday was a different story, though, we just had our lunch at Pho Hoa Noodle House (I'll post all about this resto later). The husband still wanted to eat something and me too. So, for the first time we did try the products of Bread Talk and it was very satisfying and delicious. Even my little one liked it! For sure, we'll be back for more. We still got a lot of their breads to try!

Little One's Fave Toy

Thanks Vhiel for this tag.

My Little One has no favorite toy in particular but he loves stuff toys. He has his own collection. For this tag, I'd like to share my baby's favorite pillow, named "Hunnie". It's his best buddy after losing his "teta", that's his pacifier, when he was 2 yrs old. Ever since then, it's his companion where ever he goes, specially during sleep time. Actually, the said pillow was mine. I had it since I was 4 years old! yup, that old! Hehe (",) Back then, it was a huge pillow, it is made of cotton. Now, it looks like a pouch with a knot at one end.

I am passing the tag to Butchay, Juliana, Emz, Yen, Eds, Pinaymama and Anne.

Mc Donald's Kiddie Crew Summer Workshop 2008

more photos here...

It's my Little One's third year now to join this summer workshop in Mc Donald's. It teaches them to be independent and self-reliant. They also have time to mingle with other kids and socialization with other people. They even have art workshops. A great way to spend summer while learning a lot.
